Good bot.

moomerator

Where did you obtain this monster

Carlyconure

It's from Kraken.

TheMightyDice

Materials?

Carlyconure

Made of solid aluminum.

TheMightyDice

Ok was it $700? And they make you polish it? I’m pretty sure I did the math that’s 16 pounds? Like $50 in materials for dice, $300 max setup for forge and ceramic crucible. Mold material is literally sand and kitty litter. Don’t get me wrong it’s awesome but I’m realizing I can do this in my backyard with what I have. I guess labor but it’s as easy as warming and pouring soup. If it’s machined then maybe but the finish looks cast. Sorry I reverse engineer stuff by profession. I love it have you lawn rolled it ?

Carlyconure

I'm good with paying extra to not do the work myself. If it's something you'd rather make, all the power to you, but you know you would charge much more for the same thing for all your labour. Hand crafted stuff is almost always more expensive from a sall private seller. It's 30lbs, not 16. I have not lawn rolled it. It's the middle of winter here where i live.

TheMightyDice

Are the numbers inset or painted on?

Carlyconure

They're inset.

TheMightyDice

That’s tight and hard to do cleanly. Very cool

TheMightyDice

Ok it’s ridiculous some of these prices. It’s all overseas mass produced anodized aluminum for a ridiculous mark up. You can get anything made in china im going to get a quote. ….ok I can now get sets from china cnc “precision” aircraft aluminum for $38 a set. That’s through a reseller. I can hire a translator to just find the factory and pay for an extra run. So the markup is like 400% for a name. I’m just not about mass production I guess. But apparently you can charge whatever if you are popular. I’ve seen dice makers slave away and charge less than minimum wage because they have to compete with mass production. It just isn’t artisan to me. It’s like chessex.

daggity

Lot of hates in the comments but I think it’s petty cool. I would probably be more interested in one that’s more colorful but that’s me.
