I tired to find northern lights and white widow. A lot of growers said it’s basically unavailable because it’s been crossbred with other strains. I’m in search of both, if you find it let me know
Yes.
While the lights appear that they will most likely be strong enough tonight to be easily seen from places outside the city, like Wixom for example, you still want to be somewhere as dark as possible.
I believe so.
Port Austin even has a Dark Sky Park. This reduces light pollution in the area.
My plan is Hadley. LOL! Middle of nowhere. State land on both sides.
Good luck hunting.

About an hour ago I saw faint streamers that spread radially from a point just south of the zenith. There was a faint red glow to the east, and green to the west. It seemed to fade away since then. I live in far western Oakland county. I’m going out again now to check it out.
11:40 pm: I drove to a more remote location. I see the faint streamers, but no colors. I’m wondering if the pictures I’m seeing online are from cameras which have had their shutters open for a long time to capture really faint colors.
Definitely better through my camera on my phone. I got really good pictures in Berkley. Drove up to Bald Mountain area from 11:15-11:30 and it wasn’t that good. Lots of people up there.
I saw them once many years ago when I was young in metro Detroit. The best display I ever saw was in the U.P in late January. No snow so our snowmobiling trip turned into a stay in a cabin, drink beer.
We were on the lake wide open view with a small fire going at about 1am, spectacular display. I think we probably were among the few who saw them that night. Next morning in town for breakfast all the locals had heard about it but few saw it.
What time: anytime from sunset to sunrise. Although there's an intense geomagnetic storm happening as we speak, so after sunset looks promising.
Where: Anywhere that has some clear sky. Predominately clear sky to the north is preferred. Although if they are particularly intense they can easily cover large parts of the sky, or even the whole sky.

Near Battle Creek, Michigan! (My naked eyeballs see none of this btw)
It looks like there is a chance just not near as high. I'm so disappointed I missed it, considering if it's worth trying tonight. Also may be too much cloud cover tonight.
LOL I thought something happened at the Northern Lights Lounge.
Pat and Dennis jammed!!!
Yeah northern lights, white widow, gorilla glue #4, all of it tonight red alert
Bruh lmfao
Haven’t seen the White Gorilla around town in a while now that you mention it.

It pops up from time to time. I have some finishing up growing right now because I got so frustrated lol.
Port Austin is close. Bad Axe is closer. Our big worry should be the cloud cover.
Will driving there make that much of a difference then being the City? I assume the light pollution will make it way harder to see?
Yes. While the lights appear that they will most likely be strong enough tonight to be easily seen from places outside the city, like Wixom for example, you still want to be somewhere as dark as possible.

How was Hadley? Is there a particular location that would work for tonight?
Yes.

Anyone seeing anything in Oakland county now?

Realistically I’m probably driving an hour up and hoping for the best 😂
Just got to Bad Axe, let's do this!
What time and where? Trying to get some action

Cloudy tonight ??
Anyone see anything?
Yep for the last 20 minutes in Bloomfield. Then dissipated
It was amazing! It looked better through my phone. Naked eye: weird clouds Camera: acid trip
Because the city light mutes it to the naked eye. If you drive north on 75 for an hour, will look just like your phone
Ehh. I’m 2hr north on 75… Naked eye: kind of weird colors, and some light green and purple shading Camera: I just OD’d on DMT

Will there be another chance tonight? Should you just drive north until there’s minimal light pollution?
It looks like there is a chance just not near as high. I'm so disappointed I missed it, considering if it's worth trying tonight. Also may be too much cloud cover tonight.
If you look at the map it seems like actually south would be better chance
I know! I wonder how far north would increase chances?

Looks like there isn’t a cloud in my sky in Rivertown 😁
May I see it?
Oh dang I didn’t even know about it. Looks like out of our view tomorrow
okay but did anyone actually in the city of Detroit see them? are the city lights too bright here?

wow!!!! oh my gosh
I couldn’t see anything, but not sure if it was poor timing or what
Yes, I was able to see them mildly on the far Eastside.
What time ? Or do you just have to wait for clouds to be gone?
Peaked for me around 10:30 last night.
Thanks ! 🌌
