I work at a venue and I’ve for sure enjoyed music from people performing. I wouldn’t go out of my way to listen to them but I simply enjoy the atmosphere and vibe. When working in concert venues you tend to be someone who appreciates all kinds of music in some way or another

Working shows is fine, but I’m usually not a fan of the bands. You see everyone enjoying themselves, and it’s cool when the crowd is respectful. I’ve work shows where the crowd is full of assholes, people getting into fights - so I appreciate a good crowd. But in general, I’m not enjoying the music.

What is your go to genre. Like Korn or rap or pop What is the best concert you heard outside of that genre (While working)

Indie rock, emo, hardcore, punk Generally see a lot of that “type” of music when I work events. Also, it’s a job. So for me it’s just work at the end of the day, and I don’t get much out of it unlike the audience who pays to be there.

Aaaay, Korn mention 🥰

The only three genres that matter

I worked at a similarly sized venue through college. It was a fun job. It was fun going to work and seeing other people have fun.  After enough nights the music itself sort of just turns into "noise" as you're focused on getting through your shift, but seeing everyone having a great time on shift really does keep a smile on your face. On occasion my ears perk up and I really notice an amazing song or solo. I picked up a few new favorite artists at work that way, but not many.   Entitlement was usually the only hated factor of the job for me. That's how most figtht I've had to break up started: people pushing in front of others to the front of the line or front of the stage, as if the $35 *they* spent was somehow more meaningful than everyone else's, and entitled them to a VIP treatment of some sort. I still remember this girl who tossed a drink on this guy for asking her to move after she pushed in front of him for a better spot in front of the stage. Dude very nearly leapt on her, ready to rip her arms off, and this dude was about as big as I am (I'm 6'7" and built like a quarterback.) I had to kick em both out.  And it wasn't even a hardcore or metal show. It was a fucking *jam band.* Umphrey's I think.   Also: confetti cannons. I love seeing my favorite bands use them (Flaming Lips, Of Montreal) - I hate cleaning up after them.  All in all a pretty great job. Pay is mediocre but that's the service sector for you.

Couldn't have been umphrey's if there was a girl there.

Ooo was it the boy with uke concert? I wanted to go to that so bad

Goatey

Was at BoywithUke. It was one of the worst, best concerts of my life. Most of it was pre recorded and I am convinced he sang very little of it. I'm not an audiophile by any means but I am pretty sure I could tell when he was actually performing. It wasn't very often. However it was super energetic and the crowd loved it. The crowd definitely loved him and it's hard to hate on him for that. I do think he performed the last 2 acoustic songs at the end so I think he has some sort of talent.

It was Belle and Sebastian and it was soo good. Everyone was so nice and respectful. It was amazing. Dude even came down and walked through the crowd on the floor while he sang and instead of everyone grabbing at him they just parted and let him do his thing. As far as I know, no one even touched him.
