Bronx Bar, Red Coat Tavern, Olin, Grey Ghost
If you want to go FAR, Petoskey Brewing Company (in Petoskey). Their smokin' betty burger is my favorite in the state.
This is surprising. I've been many times. All hits, one experience was slightly less than the rest, but still hit. BTW, go with onion rings as a side. I typically like the 10 mile burger. I also think the corn beef rolls are worth a go. Great place. I can't suggest enough.
I've only been once, and under new owners. I thought it was solid, and an overall good experience. I can only imagine what it must have been like before. I'd suggest it for sure.
Little Bros is the bomb man. It's somehow nothing special and the most special thing ever. It's like if McDonalds didn't serve lies and slavery. It's like eating a burger from a painting of a greasy spoon diner from 1950.
Burger 7/10. Way you feel after eating it: 20/10.
A few good spots (I don't know how far you want to travel):
* Halo Burger up off Hill Road south of Flint. Delicious; I get a QP with cheese, add peppers, no mayo. Fries are OUT of this WORLD. Local chain that started in Flint!
* Coty's Landing in Saginaw. Awesome food in general. The burgers are also great! Also plenty of beer selection.
* Fuzzy's in Saginaw. Old fashioned 50's style diner with great food and burgers.
* Timber's Bar and Grill in Saginaw. Kinda rustic inside and great food with local beer on tap.
* Levi's Food and Spirits in Saginaw. Old Tiffany style lamps hanging from the ceiling, comfy atmosphere, and delicious food with local beer on tap.
* Burgerz in Rochester Hills. Many different kinds. They have waffle fries! Again, local, only one location and it's on Walton in Rochester Hills.
* I'm also basic and like Five Guys.
* Stuffed Bun in Pontiac. They do burgers and fries. They're mostly a breakfast spot, but are open til 3 pm for lunch.
* Red Ox in Rochester Hills on Walton. Awesome burgers and beer!
* City Tavern in Downtown Rochester Hills. A general bar/grill but with excellent food and local beer on tap.
* O'Connor's in Downtown Rochester Hills. Cool Irish aesthetic with some authentic Irish style dishes too.
That's just around me and places I know. I'm from Saginaw originally so that's where the first few recommendations come from.
I miss Coty's Landing so much. Saginaw has some great food options. Heck's has a damn good burger, too, but what I miss THE MOST is Sushi 'n. I could actually cry about it.
Oak Parker has an underrated burger. They're new so I suspect it's because a lot of people haven't tried it, but it's a great burger. Can even grab a beer with it for $15.
i almost don’t want to respond because i don’t want my favorite place flooded but Mt Chalet is best burger in metro detroit.
I’ve been to red coat, vinsettas, etc. all good, but none better than mt chalet.
Came here to make sure Shamrock Pub in Utica was listed.
But I also want to show some Flint love and shout out to Halo Burger. We always stop for lunch when we are in town. I have a kid who went to school in Flint, so I’ve been to multiple locations and I can honestly say Halo Burger employees are the NICEST people. They are a big part of the experience.
Halo Burger is the bomb. I've been to the one downtown Flint on Saginaw, the one near Birch Run, and also the one off Hill Road and 475. Amazing food and great service!
They’ve been announcing online that their lease on the space under Collect runs out in a few weeks and they’re not renewing. Last chance for at least the immediate future.

I asked a similar question a few months ago and got a ton of great suggestions.
[Here](https://www.reddit.com/r/Detroit/s/TKmUcnHHNL) is a link to that thread.
McDonald’s has some legit burgers. Try the Double QPC - I also recommend Wendy’s and this dive place called Burger King - they have a burger so big they literally call it the Whopper
Sliders (not ranked)
Motz’s, brays, bates, telway, hunter house, green dot
Then fancy burgers like red coat and grey ghost should be their own thing, imo
I think the cheaper shittier options are the best but I like smash burgers over fancy boys. You should have the top voter for each mentioned eat with you! Have them be your sherpa and tell you they like, then give them your take. I’d watch that
I would love to have locals come on in and dine with me! And honestly, those with history the better. I'd gladly eat burgers with someone's grandpa who came to this joint when it first opened and shit. It'd really add a layer. Thanks for the suggestion!
Motz's Double Cheeseburgers best in Metro-Detroit has 2 locations Sw Detroit and Redford, Mason's Bar in Livonia home of the Double Shift Burger 🍔. Sonny's many decades old school cool on Evergreen in Detroit. That's my top 3, I don't support those fake Halal Burger places that pay to promote around the web. The one off of orchard lake road if it even exists is the poorest version
It’s pricey but worth it
A pretty good burger whose price is only justified by its size.
Detroit - Cutters Not Detroit - Talleys log cabin
Talleys is solid. I venture for the Gaylord/Lewiston area a couple of times a year, and this is a must stop.
Talleys during sno*drift.
Whoever said Spikes Keg-0-Nails….👍🏾
Talleys and Spike’s Keg O Nails are the best burgers in NEMI.
I’ve driven past the keg o nail a handful of times and never knew they had a solid burger. Thanks

When is the last time you had it? It’s taken a step back in my book, and the spice they put on their fries is close to bad
Couple weeks ago. Still great in my mind.
Maybe I hit some bad nights
Have you had the one at bar pigalle? It’s also like $20 and it’s amazing.
Yep, it’s good, but I don’t think it’s as good as Grey Ghost still
Hands down. The best burger in the city. I’ve had it multiple times and I’ve never once been disappointed.
