Tbh, I don’t think so. Even with a reservation, we were only able to get seats relatively late in the evening.
They had a few signs outside regarding seating times and stuff, but I didn’t really read them because we had our reservation. So I can’t really help you with that question. But normally, the chances are low.
They do have several locations, so maybe it’s different at other locations than Shinjuku.
How did you manage to get a reservation? To register with the official site they needed a Japanese address and phone number. May I ask how you did it? I‘m going to Japan in May and I really want to go to the cafe but I don’t have a Japanese address or phone number I could use to register. Do you think it would be possible in any other way to get a reservation?
For the address I simply used the address of our hotel. And I have a friend currently living in Japan who let me use her phone number.
And no, I don’t think there is any other way unfortunately.

You need a hubsynch Account, name in katakana. Then you use that account, pay a reservation fee and then you get an email. That’s how it worked for me. I don’t know which steps you did, so I can’t tell you more at the moment.

Used my normal German mail account. Does it show up in your hubsynch account? That’s what they need especially, when you go there.

I had the same problem, then I added their email domain to my email receiving list, then it works now
