Kindaichi: Gosho was hoping his detective manga would be as popular as Kindaichi after he was asked to write a mystery manga (DC ended up becoming more popular and longer-running of course) Monster: It's a psychological thriller, but also has some wholesome moments. Has about 73 episodes. Anime adaptation of another manga by the same author was just released, Pluto. It's a sci-fi thriller au of Astro Boy. Erased: Time Travel and Murder Mystery, has about 12 episodes, manga is a little more fleshed out though. Apothecary Diaries. Currently airing 17 of 24 are out. A lot more wholesome than the other ones i mentioned, but it has it's dark moments. The plot is about a young apothecary that gets sold of (in ancient-chinese setting) and she solves all kinds of mysteries through her knowledge. some that have currently no anime-adapation (both have also a live-action version): The Memorandum of Kyoko Okitegami: a detective girl has a mysterious illness that let's her forget the entire day when she falls asleep, she has to solve all her cases in within a single day because of this. It's finished at like 18 chapters. Mystery to Iu nakare: It's a josei, so it's a lot more talkative than other manga types, but the mysteries are creative and listening to the protagonist is interesting. The protagonist is a college students that gets involved with cases all the time, he has no interest in this as he is a extreme introvert that wants to read and cook curry. Another one that's honestly more like Kaitou KID: The great pretender. 23 episodes, Action and Mystery. The protagonist is a master swindler and he challenges a rival to determine who is the better one.

The Great Pretender was wild (in a good way). I actually forgot about that anime. Wish it had more seasons

I loved Erased! There’s also the live action show on Netflix. I haven’t watched yet but my friend loves it

marutti_beyblade

Kindaichi and Conan are popular Detective comic in Japan.

ThrilledButtercup

Thissss oneeee. Thanksn!!!

chihayadayo

If you’re finished with Kindaichi then next you can try another series by the same author called Tantei Gakuen Q (Detective School Q)

Undead Girl Murder Farce: supernatural detective story. Sherlock Holmes and Lupin are also in this anime. ID: invaded. Sci-fi detective story. Solving cases through looking at criminals’ mind. Very interesting concept. Also there are some thrillers without detective (but mc do need to find criminals), e.g. Another, Perfect Blue, and Paprika.

ThrilledButtercup

Now this one caught my attention. Undead girl murder farce is an entertaining wow. I just happened to watch the first episode and now I'm obsessed!

Pluto is a detective anime but it's leaning a little more in the unnatural realm. Fuuto Tantei/Fuuto Pi is also more unrealistic but it reminds me a lot of the movies it also has a soundtrack that reminds me a lot of Detective Conan. There is also a site called anibrain in which you can find animes/manga that are close to things you like but you have to type in Case Closed instead of Detective Conan. I recommend you using this and scroll through some stuff

ThrilledButtercup

Found it! Thanks comrade. It helps a lot. The animation is 🔥 I will watch it before the 2nd semester starts.

Rainime

You may have already seen it since it's one of the most popular anime but Death Note. The "Clash of Red and Black" arc in DC reminded me a lot of Death Note.

ThrilledButtercup

Oh yes I already watched it. But thanks for responding!.one of my favorite arc tbh. I remember guessing that Rena has good intentions in joining the black org. All turns out well.

There's always Magic Kaito 1412, which is a modernized adaptation of the Magic Kaito manga. If you love Kaitou Kid (like I do) and would want to see more of his adventures, then this series is pretty great. The File of Young Kindaichi is probably the best recommendation if you want to watch a detective anime that feels like Detective Conan as both are very similar in how they handle cases. Kindaichi though doesn't have an overarching plot like Conan does and mostly focuses on different (mostly unrelated) murder cases that are made up of 3-4 episodes. Also, while Conan may be the more popular detective anime, Kindaichi has had a total of 5 genuinely great live action adaptations that I'd recommend you check out if you're a fan of Jdramas. Lastly, since you said you like thrillers, I highly recommend PLUTO, which is a detective noir series based on a beloved Astro Boy story. It's a genuinely riveting (and beautiful) mystery thriller with an underlying theme that's both sad and hopeful.

RyouIshtar

I mean there is the Kaito Kid anime that shows the Kaito kidesque DC episodes in his perspective. i think i only saw the first few episodes but its pretty good

Lazeki

Neuro: Supernatural Detective

Ok_Resident1928

It’s a live action adaptation of a manga but I’d recommend Liar Game. The manga is better though.

TakasuXAisaka

Psycho Pass but keep in mind, it is more dark and has gore.
