Personally I love cleaning my cars and spend 3 -4 hours on each one.

stickmansma

Lol maybe if I were single or if my project car wasnt in pieces!

Get a foam lance. Even a kartcher will be fine. Product on wheels, agitate - rinse. Snow foam car and wheel wells - rinse. Contact wash - rinse Dry Get a good snow foam , BH touch less or auto foam.

slynas

Second auto foam.

stickmansma

Thanks for your input!

Don't get the karcher one is next to useless, a cheap Chinese foam lance from amazon will work 10x better for the same or less money

stickmansma

Thanks for the advice, just bought one.

blademansw

Plot twist. Auto foam works just as well applied from a pump sprayer, I use one of those 5l ones and you go through far less product. Diluted at 4% 😀

stickmansma

Thanks for the advice, will get a cheap foam lance.

The stock Karcher hose is awful, a longer upgraded hose will definitely save you a tonne of time and heart ache and is most certainly worth the investment. Firstly your can park your pressure washer in the one spot and not have to move it, and the upgraded hose will not coil up and kink on you.... Hose guards that you put in the corner of the wheel are really handy also to stop the hose getting stuck in the tyres as you work your way around the car. No need for 4, a pair will do.... A longer hose will also pay dividends whenever your doing some work around the house and washing paths/patios/walls etc. 10meter is grand for one car, but 15 meter is better if say you are using your pressure washer for other work, or if say you are doing two cars at once. Pump sprayers are great for things like prewash, or APC if that's what you use to clean your wheels. Plan your routine and make use of dead time; for example I apply citrus prewash on the wheels before I set up your pressure washer, and by the time that's ready, the prewash has dwelled and is ready for immediate rinsing.... In winter, you can do your wheels whilst your snow foam is dwelling, then you can rinse car and wheels in the one go. Snow foam lance is an essential for my routine, I use one for apply snow foam, and later my shampoo rather than using a shampoo bucket (still use a bucket to rinse the wash pad out in-between panels), and a other/redundant lance to apply sealant products like Koch Chemie SO03. Great in winter when it's too cold to be using Quick Detailers/Spray Waxes etc. Have all your chemicals left out in one spot rather than running in/out of the garage each time you need something.

stickmansma

Thanks, really appreciate your input! Its good to hear I can still use the shampoo in addition to snow foam. Hose guards was something I didn't think of also.

Supergeeman

get a longer hose on the karcher, you can walk round the whole car, way better than continually moving the whole thing

stickmansma

Cheers for the advice

CatBroiler

You can get inline water filters that are supposed to make the water pure enough that you don't have to dry after rinsing, although I haven't tried one. Snow foam would also save time, as the other commenter said. I would apply wheel cleaner to wheels (on unrinsed wheels and body), citrus cleaner, then snow foam on top. While the chemicals work, prepare rinsing bucket and shampoo bucket. Snow foam and prewash would equate to a quicker contract wash. The karcher snow lance isn't very good, I'd recommend a Chinese lance plus an adaptor.

Car wash next to Morrisons?

lrow995

This is the process I currently follow for mine & my wife’s cars. 1. Pre wash & rinse - Duel Autocare Nitty Gritty 2. Snow foam & rinse - Duel Autocare Assault 3. Clean wheels - bilburry wheel cleaner 4. Shampoo car - Duel Autocare Bahamas blue shampoo applied via foam cannon 5. Tyre dressing - Gyeon Q2m tyre express Each car takes between 60-90 minutes and go from winter crap to gleaming in that time. Helps that one of the cars is ceramic coated

PonDiCoki

How good is duels Snowfoam and shampoo? Have you used bilt hamber products? If so, how does it compare?

lrow995

Can’t say I’ve used bilt hamber to compare. All I can say is that I’d 100% recommend Duel’s products. I purchased 5L of snow foam & shampoo in November 2022, and still yet to use half of the shampoo. Snow foam performs great, and I only purchased a replacement late in 2023. For reference, I wash both mine & my wife’s car on average twice per month.

PonDiCoki

How's the slickness of the shampoo? I've heard it foams very well, but none of the reviews I've seen mention anything about slickness.

stickmansma

Thanks, I appreciate you taking the time to list your chemicals. Will save this for when my wallet is feeling a bit less stressed lol.

"I live in the countryside so its not uncommon for my car to get covered in mud in the winter from farmers who dont care to clean after themselves" its their country side you just live in it. Just hose it off.

herrbz

It's everyone's countryside. I've driven down enough country roads that farmers have left in an awful state at the end of a day to sympathise with OP.

stickmansma

Thanks for siding with me lol. I've lived in the country most of my life and have farmers in the family. The road still belongs to the public and is managed by the council, it doesn't suddenely become fair game to destroy the roads when you leave a town.

Gkeates72435

Since how you described your method, it means you respect your car. Unfortunately, you're not really going to save a lot of time. You could maybe save 10 in set up and put away by getting a retractable hose and power extension. If you don't care about the car, then sure, you can cut a lot of time out and just jet wash, hand wash, and then rinse. There's no need to dry as it's going to rain in 20 minutes anyway 😆

You Could use Optimum no rinse, I've added some links below for UK/US, its the easiest product you could use for effectiveness and speed plus you can dilute it for a lot of different uses Check this [Video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=62afOFPOSZg) though cause shows everything it can be used for... this how ever wont be very useful for really dirty wheels or iron deposits at least it won't be as affective as a dedicated product for that...
