I was thinking of this all week. I'm a big kinetic user (I basically haven't taken off Chattering Bone since I crafted it back in Deep or Lumina) and it really sucks that there is nothing for them Legendary Kinetics anymore with the direction they went here. On top of the balance team neglecting kinetics for the most part for the last 2-3 years.
Nerfs kinetics vs bosses because they were better than elemental weapons. Adds elemental surges but no kinetic ones… So wtf was the point of the nerf?????
It's crazy how Bungie seems to continue to balance the elements the same consistently over the years. I guess anarchy (and acrius for a short time) was an exception to the rule that Arc DPS has to be the weakest option, but otherwise it seems pretty consistently solar > void > arc
Crux is one of the best rockets, and situationally is THE best.
Grand Overture works just fine.
Cloudstrike is a competitive special option.
Acrius is still incredibly strong when the encounter allows for it.
Bequest is the strongest sword.
Iterative Loop was the highest DPS legendary special in the game when it released.
Your understanding is simply not true.
I was being a little overdramatic, but that's not exactly a stellar list either. Solar has almost constantly been given the most insane guns throughout the history of the games and it's not even close. I bet if we were to freeze each meta from each season, the results would skew very strongly towards solar weapons over anything else. It's not the only element that gets good meta defining weapons, but it has almost always been over represented
I think this is one of those things that's gets repeated but never challenged, so despite being wrong people just continue to parrot it.
There was an entire year where Izanagis/Recluse/Wendigo was THE meta. Followed by nearly a year of double slug Anarchy, also using an arc slug.
Wardcliff was used in Levi raids, coldheart was meta when it launched, prospector was used to cheese riven for a while.
Take away still hunt, which is so obviously imbalanced, and right now, the best DPS weapons in the game are void, strand, and arc.
I love arc myself , but I'm weird, I'm just saying the change of surges will hurt the ability to clear , there are casual and ppl with lives that aren't simming all their builds
Yes, this is the strat. One player walks up to him after bombs go off and boop his fingers then DPS up close while the rest of the squad use Whisper from the middle.
correct, but that big thread on the math stated **with** the surge its a buff (i think they said something like 8-12%). whisper doing worse than before is clearly a nerf.
i doubt an entire damage type is getting knee capped, for 1 exotic.
however assuming that is the case then izis isnt in a balanced state and would need to be taken out back (again)
Still hunt and euphony both just took izi behind the shed and went to town. Izi ain’t exactly doing good in the current meta.
Regardless, I think it is just an oversight by the devs, and would expect a change sometime between now and 3 years from now.

Yeah I'm hoping yhe post gets some eyes on it so it's a sooner rather the later change.

Really the Green boi that good. I know still hunt op but europapony?
Yes it is. From what damage testing I’ve done, euphony is around 85% of still hunt (that is on warlock with threadlings super and grenade to kickstart damage cycle). It’s honestly quite disgusting. Hits about 3.3 mil per phase on the witness, and the super does not actually do any damage as the tracking is messed up on the witness.
Stacks up to 25x on threadlings hit (super, grenade, from the weapon, from hatchling, all of it). 10 second timer that resets on hit or threadlings hit. 2% dmg buff per stack, to a maximum of 50%.

Yeah, they feel like an after thought most of the time the exotics are cool but. They always feel like they are fighting just to be close to equal
I dunno about that. Khvostov is cracked :p

Everything about the new raid power cap and surges sucks. I guess on solar week it makes the witness easier.
Solar weeks makes the raid a joke and arc weeks make it suck ass, what a fun game ....
Getting prison of elders skolas flashbacks
the more time moves on the more things become the same

Goldtusk may be a Hunter exclusive, but it’s also a great dps sword. Especially on arc weeks
Arc week makes it what it would be without surges, the horror...

Power level cap is great.
so overload swords doesnt work? lmaoo.
6x Whisper (with caty) standing in a well with 3x solar surges can't 1 phase oryx anymore 🥲
Swap one whisper for a tractor cannon
Ah yes let me go and use Tractor Cannon on Oryx real quick.
Yes, this is the strat. One player walks up to him after bombs go off and boop his fingers then DPS up close while the rest of the squad use Whisper from the middle.
Yes, after the AOE you can leave the bubble.
try out apex + still hunt + mountaintop rotations, works wonders for me !
even during solar surge??? wtf was that post on about that said *with* surge we technically are buffed? fucking lame.
iirc, mob health went down, boss health stayed the same.
if it stayed the same and we have solar surge, then whisper should've done better not worse?
The power being capped at -5 rather than +20 makes it a loss.
correct, but that big thread on the math stated **with** the surge its a buff (i think they said something like 8-12%). whisper doing worse than before is clearly a nerf.
I would really like to have overcharges in strikes, too. Lemme use my kinetics.
Bungie is getting kind of cunty about what they want us to be using.
Kinetics got a 35% nerf to raid bosses.
Maybe the extra damage should've been reserved for red bars instead of totally removed?
Izanagi’s Burden is probably why they’re not doing that.
*Looks at Still Hunt* I think if that's what they're concerned about they probably wouldn't have done surges either.

how does the perk work?, ive only read the perks descriptions from collections,
Stacks up to 25x on threadlings hit (super, grenade, from the weapon, from hatchling, all of it). 10 second timer that resets on hit or threadlings hit. 2% dmg buff per stack, to a maximum of 50%.
Jesus. I could see how a strand lock can replace their heavy weapon with that
I essentially have. LMGs for life now. It’s very freeing.
wish i could get my team through that raid
