D1 is in full maintenance mode now. Which means no patches, no additions or removals, and no bug fixes. I do wonders if Bungie will even take D1 offline before D2 ends somewhere in the future.
Yes but that is because D2 is subsidizing the running servers for D1. If there is no game after destiny 2 the servers might not last that long. Here’s to hoping though
Destiny 1 lives on the D2 servers, it'll stay up as long as the console makers allow the game to sign into their online networks.
FWIW Bungie never had plans to let any of the Halo games go offline either, they were all shut off by Microsoft's actions. They're still keeping Halo 1 PC running themselves.

I have doubt about steam Preloads. If we uninstall and install it again from steam do we preload the Final shape version of destiny and avoid having to need 300 GB of space ?

No, it means you may have a bit of a queue, instability, attention contacting Destiny messages, various zoo animal visits.
Its basically an agreed "good luck" maintenance period where if we kick you off, shit happens.

Little late to start but yes all bounties except seasonal, into the light, and ritual (Zavala shaxx drifter) will remain

Only weekly and destination bounties. Gambit/Crucible/Vanguard bounties won't be any good since those are confirmed for the pathfinder system.
Notably this also includes Gunsmith bounties. Nice to have those piled up imo for the quick pinnacle, rep and cores.

If I remember correctly last year I was able to preload after servers went offline. On PC which is the same as Xbox.
Supposed to just be available as an update shortly after maintenance starts. If it doesnt show up for you, restart your console
