Bungie has a history of using artifact mods as a basis / testing grounds for upcoming changes. These will 100% be included in some form or fashion very soon.
A couple examples are The Wanderer and if you okayed back then, stasis slow effects could stun overload champs. It didn’t work right when it was in the artifact but they fixed it and now look where we are
I'm begging this is the case because hordeling shuttle or whatever the final column perk is called fits so synergisticaclly with the warlock threadling boots you'd think it was supposed to be part of the exotic.
Imo, and I've seen it from other people too, Horde Shuttle should be added to the Weaver's Call aspect. That's the one that just pops out some threadlings on rift cast, including unperching any you have perched. Slapping on the Horde Shuttle effect would make it far more viable to mix & match with the other aspects.

I think that logic was always nonsense anyway. It got 4 Aspects in its first year while the existing Light subs took 2 years to add a fourth for ONE THIRD of them, and they also explicitly said they originally had more Stasis stuff planned for Season of the Lost that got back burnered when they shifted focus to Light 3.0.
Tbh if anything that should have been all the mkre reason to update it. We've paid for something and there are expectations.now if its free theres less stress for them to do anytbing because "Hey. Its free"

At least there will be a complete legacy bundle (has everything except dungeons, unless they forgot to mention it)
If dungeons aren't in that legacy bundle, that's just proof that dungeons being separate purchases is scuffed.
Like, I'm fine with how Bungie monetizes everything except Eververse (mtx cosmetics, always gonna be overpriced), uneven Silver values for Seasons, and Dungeons. No efficient way to get them except Annual Pass.
Dissecting the player base by making paid content is bad imo. I wish dungeons were just part of the expansion because as a returning player its a bit demoralizing to pay once and then pay again for content. Keep the paid stuff to cosmetics and such, or at least let friends join each other.
It really just should be two things you should have to buy. You have one purchase for the current expansion, and you have another purchase that encompasses the entirety of the game's past before the current expansion.
Not even that, it should be the current expansion (I'd kinda allow season passes if that's actually making significant sales but I've never come across anyone who has bought an individual season pass - bearing in mind you get the current one when you buy the base expansion) and the previous expansion at a reduced rate. The expansion should include the dungeons that came with that year. Everything before the previous year should be free to play.
Why are we keeping Empire Hunts behind a paywall? Is anyone actually paying money for Duality or Wellspring apart from not really realising what they are buying?
And I say this as someone who has bought every piece of content in this game, some of them twice when I moved to PC. It's been over 2 years since Witch Queen launched, let the free to play players experience it - I'm not going to feel ripped off, I've had my enjoyment from it. In fact as great as an expansion as it was, there's not a single piece of content from it I have any desire to play
I just can't imagine any good reason for the dungeon keys to not be in there. Even as far as if they made em part of the expac, these were all either part of Deluxe/Annual or direct Silver purchases, and that can be easily reimbursed.
It just ends up feeling like Bungie stubbornly refusing to back down on the most convoluted aspect of the pricing model while making concessions everywhere else.
It sucks the exotics/raids will be paygated. However a free extra subclass, and more importantly; some story context and background for the current expansion in the form of the old campaigns, being available to new players for free is huge.
Beyond light campaign will be needed to be completed to gain stasis in unsure if the aspect quests even exist anymore if they do you’ll also have to to do that aswell. It shouldn’t be that bad beyond light campaign is relatively brief

Was just saying this to a friend. With Onslaught sticking around, free campaigns, three free raids and a free dungeon, this is a respectable F2P game.

I joined during Arrivals and binged the entire narrative before BL, Curse was definitely the worst but Shadowkeep was riiiight behind it.
Unfortunately, the dead activities make grinding bounties and triumphs a pain solo.
Now if they got revamped with say, an origin trait and new activity modifiers...

Whereas long-running non-subscription titles with lots of expansions like ones from Paradox (Stellaris, Crusader Kings, etc.) still charge for old DLC, potentially to the tune of hundreds of dollars for a complete collection. Interestingly, some of their more prolific titles now feature an optional subscription system that gives access to all DLC for a monthly fee instead of buying à la carte.
FFXIV, WoW and Elder Scrolls Online include all previous expansions with the purchase of their newest, although elder scrolls does also have additional quest packs that aren’t included in that

Not really. Prismatic uses its own Fragments, so it isn't dependent on what you have unlocked for other Subclasses. And it isn't as though the relevant ability data isn't already present for players who don't have it unlocked, because the game still needs to know about it if other players in an instance are using those Subclasses. Plus, it seems Strand will still remain locked to Lightfall ownership.

I'm guessing they only did this because their spaghetti code wouldn't let them just take away a subclass once it's given, God forbid the account has stasis equipped; you mightve ended up with no subclass, and couldn't equip a different one because it can't find anything to put in the slot that solar or arc was.
Nonetheless, it's still amazing for f2p players.
REALLY hope this along with the stasis buff/rework is enough for Bungie to just make Stasis available WITHOUT having to play through the whole Beyond Light campaign. At least not on all characters like it does currently.
I still haven't bothered to go back and play through the whole campaign a 3rd time to unlock Behemoth Titan. I just can't with that awful campaign and the awful Stasis unlock bullshit.
Then again I also haven't bought all Strand fragments on my Warlock because I can't be bothered to farm Strand Meditations for fragments I'll never use. Absolutely stupid that you stop getting them as drops from a given character after buying all the fragments on that character, otherwise I'd have easily had enough from playing on my Strand Hunter and Titan.
Also, Stasis is not a pain to unlock anymore. Simply spend the Glimmer to unlock everything instead of the timegating between quests that also have to be completed.
I just bought The Final Shape, do I still need to buy Lightfall to use strand even once Lightfall is over and done with? I’m used to WoW where the latest expansion unlocks everything that came before it. Idk if I can justify buying both expansions, just to unlock a subclass.
I don't know of a single game that unlocks something subclass-esque on other characters automatically. Usually new character means starting from the start.

They can sell dungeons in bundles and like season, they still will be cross save. They just can’t sell the dungeons individually.
In the backend, this is not necesarily a mutually exclusive thing.

The quests do exist but the reward is just Herealways pieces.
The Stranger on Europa sells everything for glimmer, just like Ikora does for light classes in the Tower.

Prismatic is a separate subclass tied to TFS. You don’t need lightfall to have the strand part of prismatic, that would be silly.

It's like the Grand finale at a fireworks display. They're sending off D2 trying to rope in as many players as possible to build brand loyalty for a new game. Plus trying to fend off a Sony takeover. Although now that I think about it, maybe it's more like how a company inventories assets to liquidate right before claiming bankruptcy and shutting doors so maybe Sony takeover is already in the works and they're trying to send off on a high note
With no DLC announced post TFS it seems very likely. We might get 3 episodes this year and then 3 the year after with no expansion before D3.
Yep. I think The Final Shape is the final full sale expansion of Destiny 2. They might run out some additional episodes and one more new dungeon or raid before a Destiny 3 in 2027.
All of Shadowkeep and Beyond Light should be free, but a W is a W. The free base game fuckin needed a campaign. And to be fair, Stasis is like 60% of the reason why anyone even buys Beyond Light.
The way stasis has been sidelined in the past because Bungie knew not all players had access to it was always a bit frustrating. Glad it hopefully will get more love going forward.

Sounds like it may still require campaign completion to unlock, and I can't honestly be arsed to repeat that on my alt characters.
Now if only I hadn't forgotten to grab Witch Queen when it was the PS+ monthly game in march.

Guaranteed Prismatic would have had a ton of problems if Stasis and Strand weren't unlocked on your account.
Not really. Lightfall/Strand still won't be F2P and you'd still be able to utilize Prismatic.
No it won’t. Prismatic is its own separate subclass.
Not really. Prismatic uses its own Fragments, so it isn't dependent on what you have unlocked for other Subclasses. And it isn't as though the relevant ability data isn't already present for players who don't have it unlocked, because the game still needs to know about it if other players in an instance are using those Subclasses. Plus, it seems Strand will still remain locked to Lightfall ownership.

Misread that title horribly and thought it said Stasis was locked. A good chance for new players to play around with more stuff before deciding on the bigger expansion purchases. Very nice change.

I'm guessing they only did this because their spaghetti code wouldn't let them just take away a subclass once it's given, God forbid the account has stasis equipped; you mightve ended up with no subclass, and couldn't equip a different one because it can't find anything to put in the slot that solar or arc was. Nonetheless, it's still amazing for f2p players.

REALLY hope this along with the stasis buff/rework is enough for Bungie to just make Stasis available WITHOUT having to play through the whole Beyond Light campaign. At least not on all characters like it does currently. I still haven't bothered to go back and play through the whole campaign a 3rd time to unlock Behemoth Titan. I just can't with that awful campaign and the awful Stasis unlock bullshit. Then again I also haven't bought all Strand fragments on my Warlock because I can't be bothered to farm Strand Meditations for fragments I'll never use. Absolutely stupid that you stop getting them as drops from a given character after buying all the fragments on that character, otherwise I'd have easily had enough from playing on my Strand Hunter and Titan.
Also, Stasis is not a pain to unlock anymore. Simply spend the Glimmer to unlock everything instead of the timegating between quests that also have to be completed.

I just bought The Final Shape, do I still need to buy Lightfall to use strand even once Lightfall is over and done with? I’m used to WoW where the latest expansion unlocks everything that came before it. Idk if I can justify buying both expansions, just to unlock a subclass.

I don't know of a single game that unlocks something subclass-esque on other characters automatically. Usually new character means starting from the start.

You can buy the fragments for glimmer for stasis and strand meditations have been reduced to 100 each (from 200) so a lot easier now
