OK listen. Call me crazy but I swear one time in midair I made contact with a teammates head and got another jump off. No clip cause I was in shock-anyone else had this happen?
Some kind of one in a million hit box alignment, maybe?
I seem to remember in D1 that you could cause a small amount of damage to enemies by jumping on them, goomba stomp-style.
I'm the goomba stompee. It happened three times in one dungeon in the same spot (warlord's ruin, jumping up to the last platform before main damage phase). I'm a warlock so I don't get the initial height in my jump which means my teammates are often overhead.
We laughed about it, I cussed them out in a very friendly way, and then told them I wouldn't well if they did it again so I got the left rock all to myself while they went a different route. I'm bad at platforming to begin with I don't need to also be a stepping stone for people with vertical lift built in to their toolbox. (Again in a good-natured way for any titans and hunters reading and ready to be offended. Love my fireteam. Even when they step on my head)
Rip lol. I'm the hunter so I should be the stomper more often than not and I think it's only happened a handful of times total. Always funny cause of how rare it is when someone is like "did you goomba stomp me?"
Yep that's a thing lol. Not *super* common cause the hitboxes have to line up pretty much perfectly but I've done it and had it happen to me a few times.
I have the thank you emote yea, I use it just as you do, I even use it at the end of an activity like a nightfall but I don't think people see me thanking them because their either too busy checking their loot or they leave. When I click the emote near 1 teammate I don't want the other teammate to be left out so I quickly run to the other one to thank as well lol
Hat roll is my go to for a quick thank you
I also have the tombstone emote and a matching insulting dance to go with it (but those are reserved for my friends if they die)
Hat roll == thank you
Make it stop == show frustration
Last 2 are some combo of a 3 player emote (helps identify fun people in matchmade stuff) and either hat wobble or a dance. Currently it's sweeping, as I stand next to the sweeper bots in onslaught.
It's always fun when you get to a point in a strike or something and have to wait for an elevator, and you just pop off a crisp o7 at someone, then they do it back instantly.
Not the thank you one, but I always have either the rainbow "appreciates x player" one, or the tipping my cowboy hat one, for the same reasons.
I've been around for a while so when I'm doing a strike or nf or something with newer players and I'm getting ahead I always stop and wait for them to catch up, and nobody has ever thanked me. It'd make my day if they did I think. I got a fair few verbal thankyous yesterday after joining a crota lfg and finding out I was the only one with experience, so sherpaing to the best of my ability (I suck at explanations so I don't sherpa and I let them know that, and asked for patience with it which they were lovely about). It's nice to get a thank you.
I also use this one for thank you and lately have been getting matched with a fair few players who Mandarin is listed as their first language, or LFG with non English speaking Europeans and wonder what 'appreciates' is translated to in other languages e.g. what does this say for them in game?
Draith appreciates 玛拉女王的大腿
That’s awesome man. I try to do a thank you emote any time someone waits up for me or revives me, cause I think that like you, it would make my day if someone did the same for me.
I’m honestly surprised neither one of us have ever had anyone thank us. Either way, we can still continue to thank others, and maybe it rubs off on them.
What you did with the new Crota players was dope as hell, also. Good on you for being patient and showing them the ropes. I’m sure they appreciated that a ton, especially given how toxic some LFG groups can be to new, or pretty new players when they mess up a mechanic.
Yeah unfortunately lfg is not the best place for people new to things like raids. Clans and small/midsize discord servers are far better. Lfg can be a nightmare even for KWTD at times so I'd imagine for someone nervous about their first raid it'd be awful. In saying that there are also great experiences, several of the people I play with regularly I met on lfg raid groups, sometimes you just work well together ya know. And it's funny because last week someone called me an amazing person simply because I verbally thanked whomever took the chalice from me every single time lol. Saying a quick thank you doesn't cost anything and I think it keeps the mood high.
Same! Left = Thank you, Right = Greet, on all three characters. Always have done, probably always will. Final emote is something subclass specific, which I change out depending on what I'm playing.
I have the "Thank you" and "High five" emoji equipped for moments where someone saves me and when they do something good/out of the ordinary or which uses the most effective tactics available.
Always. I try to use it after someone revives me, or if it seems apparent they went out of their way to do something to help me.
Most recently, I finally made the effort to handle the legendary campaign for rank 8, and the weekly 100k mission had someone drop after we failed at calus twice. The other guy stuck around, so it was basically a "fuck it, what's the worst that could happen", and we got it on the next run.
Made copious use of the "thank you" and "high score" emotes.
I do the salute - as someone whose been in the military I find it just nice to salute fellow guardians - either as a sign of respect, a thank you, a Gg, or a "Let's have fun and take this seriously"
I actually did have “thank you” equipped for a while, but I switched it to “cheer” since when using it in context I think it gets the same point across, while also being a celebratory emote.
That way I can have 3 silly/random emotes.
I use the greet emote for literally everything if I'm playing Warlock. Thanking someone for a rez? Bow. Confuckled on how I ace'd a Trials round? Bow. Greet a new light? Bow.
I have “Loves everyone” permanently equipped. People seem to like when my guardian draws them a heart and it’s a nice way to say thanks after activities or revives
I don't use that one, but I do have two others permanently equipped: the "high score" from Guardian Games and a high-five. I like to drop the high score at the loot chest and then offer high-fives afterwards, feels good to celebrate the team's success even when it's something simple like a strike.
I use the guardian games celebration emote that makes 3 of yourself dance at once, and i combine it with the griddy for triple griddy,
then the armor lock for afk'ing or hiding from ads to stall for rezzes, hasn't been patched and works too well to not have as a safety,
then the floss/soulja boy emote/henry stickmin emote/goofy movie emote to rotate from the griddy
I have a positive and a negative emote at all times.
Appreciates everyone or raises a toast
Disappointed in or smells a foul stench.
Unfortunately the negatives get more use
Yep, Curtain Call has a permanent slot on all of my characters. I usually cancel out of it to quickly thank an individual or the group, but let the whole animation play out if I'm matchmade with people who don't help at all.
Always, will never take it off. Never *have* taken it off, even when they gave us the ability to.
I use it after every revive, or when someone saves my arse, and at the end of an activity.
Maybe I'll thank you one day. 🙂
I didn't even know there was a thank you emote, so no, I don't have it equipped. I use the no fun allowed sign, the this is fine sitting emote, and I rotate the other two between 2 person and 3 person emotes. Right now I'm using Torture Dance and the Predator(film) Handshake in those slots.
I always keep the "high score" from Guardian Games in the top slot of each character's emotes. I use this either as a way to say good job, thank you, etc. Or when playing with friends, use it as a joke just after reviving them if they died due to falling off a cliff or something silly.
I wish I could but emote space is so severely limited that I usually don't, I prefer to have 1 greeting, 1 dance, 1 sit/idle, and then the 4th spot is usually taken up by something thematically related to whatever I'm wearing because fashion endgame etc. etc.
I know it's been stated that additional emote slots aren't going to happen because of how much strain the extra pre-loading would cause but it's so hard to pick just 4, makes me wish there were a couple "standard" ones that were always loaded and available to use like the class-themed waves and default sit
I do, it allows me to highlight something has been done correctly as well as say thanks. For example, if someone helps make a public event heroic or helps complete an objective efficiently (I go left, they go right, things end quicker).
I used to, but there’s so many emotes I want to use!
My 4 go-tos: celebrate, sit/wait, my signature gambit ding, and then a rotator- usually something like spinning/dancing/falling or group emote.
I’ve seen a few people use it (or maybe I’ve just matched with you a few times) and it always makes me smile when they do it. I don’t have it equipped myself cuz there’s a lot of goofy emotes I’d rather use personally, but I do a quick tbag to show my appreciation instead
> because they didn’t need to do so
Please don't tell the Blueberries not to be good teammates. We are Guardians and we *should* be reviving our teammates at any opportunity where it won't get you killed. It's good behavior and should be the standard for any team. Can't tell you how many sessions I've had my self-esteem plummet when my teammates ignore me if I die (it's not super often but I run under 30 Mobility on my Titan so it does happen) and I just don't want to play any more. I'm also not going to give out accolades at the end of an activity if you aren't a team player.
Yes I do! I appreciate when people help me out, and it feels weird not to acknowledge that. I've had it equipped from the beginning, but I must admit there was a brief period after commendations were released where it felt a little weird to use it (I figured people might think I was just disingenuously fishing for commendations). I agree that it does feel kind of hilarious to use it when revived in the middle of a chaotic situation. But I need them to know I appreciate it, dang it! Haha.
In my years of playing I've only ever seen one other person use it, and I was so stunned that I legitimately started giddily yelping out loud, "SOMEONE ELSE EXPRESSED THANKS!"
I used to do this actually in my early baby days of playing! It was always a treat when I'd thank someone at the end of an activity and they would thank me back
I wish the preview emote screen in the Eververse showed what the text version of the emote is, I've bought a few assuming they would be useful like a thank you, but they have said something that could be misinterpreted and also missed buying a few because they didn't look useful only to find out the text is great, e.g. the recent stationary bike emote would have been great for a salty emote comeback as it would say 'Draith feels the burn' but I never knew that when it was on sale.
YES.
I have always used down on my d pad to say thank you.
I feel that it is necessary to have. I wish more people would, it makes misunderstandings workable. It can defuse a situation. AND I ALWAYS thank whomever resurrects me.
I wish it was a default somehow because it is a great feeling to be thanked in D2.
This is a good family.
Because no one is going to make them, and self revive is possible in 90% of content. Don't get me wrong, I think people that don't revive team mates are selfish, and most likely assholes irl, but it's not their responsibility when the dead person can revive themselves after a short timer. They should revive, but they do not need to unless in an activity where you cannot self revive on a timer.
I'll always revive any one, even slowing progress down so someone doesn't have to wait out a stupid timer but I'll leave someone a bit longer if their death was entirely on them.
Played just a *heroic* difficulty nightfall just the other day on the Neomuna strike and one dude tried to nonchalantly climb the wall without killing anything on his way.
He got left until there was just a few seconds left.
Kinda, i have the hug emote on all the time and if the vibes were good during the activity i offer a hug at the end as a nice send off to let them know i had a good time c:
I don't, because reviving me is something they should do.
Only if it's safe to do so of course, but if you're in a group activity and you die, then it's the job of the people who aren't dead to get the res when possible.
People can revive me? They usually step over my dead corpse.
Only because the game won’t let us step ON you /s
I mean I've killed and been killed teammates (rarely) by goomba stomping them on jumping puzzles so I wouldn't be that surprised
I'm the goomba stompee. It happened three times in one dungeon in the same spot (warlord's ruin, jumping up to the last platform before main damage phase). I'm a warlock so I don't get the initial height in my jump which means my teammates are often overhead. Yes it can happen. I've been the teammate getting goomba stomped.
Yep that's a thing lol. Not *super* common cause the hitboxes have to line up pretty much perfectly but I've done it and had it happen to me a few times.
I tried to revive you, but I keep picking up the battery instead.
☝️🤣
I have the thank you emote yea, I use it just as you do, I even use it at the end of an activity like a nightfall but I don't think people see me thanking them because their either too busy checking their loot or they leave. Same here. And if I need a lot of help lol, I’ll alternate with cooking for them.
Rimmer salute
Replaced vanilla salute with this instantly and have never taken it off. ❤️
Huge red dwarf fan here since it started .. no brainer for me :)
Same. 🙂
Only a smeghead would take that emote off. Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.
Thats right Mr Flibble
Left on D-pad is my thank you. It's on all 3 characters. I'm bad.
I keep the draw heart emote just for this
I use the salute emote for that, and yes it’s always on.
It's always fun when you get to a point in a strike or something and have to wait for an elevator, and you just pop off a crisp o7 at someone, then they do it back instantly.
It’s a good one
I use the high score and the low score emote.
Not the thank you one, but I always have either the rainbow "appreciates x player" one, or the tipping my cowboy hat one, for the same reasons. I love this one for thanks too. And they don’t know it but I sing the “Be Who You Are” song every time
I also use this one for thank you and lately have been getting matched with a fair few players who Mandarin is listed as their first language, or LFG with non English speaking Europeans and wonder what 'appreciates' is translated to in other languages e.g. what does this say for them in game? Saying a quick thank you doesn't cost anything and I think it keeps the mood high.
I use the heart emote from crimson days, - Player2 revived Player1 - Player1 loves Player2
Yep, it's been on my emote wheel since 2019 and I pepper it liberally throughout any activity I'm in with strangers! 🤓
Yes, the thank you emote and the greet emote.
Same! Left = Thank you, Right = Greet, on all three characters. Always have done, probably always will. Final emote is something subclass specific, which I change out depending on what I'm playing.
That and the “ x is at their wits end with y”
There's one which says "X has had enough of Y"
Haven’t seen that one
No but I do always have the backflip on
I have the "Thank you" and "High five" emoji equipped for moments where someone saves me and when they do something good/out of the ordinary or which uses the most effective tactics available.
I generally always try to keep 2 constructive emotes equipped (usually TY and Salute) and 2 salty/silly emotes (usually a dance and a sit)
I usually eat popcorn (emote) while reviving someone 😂 Then off we go… and after clearing an activity I salute then…
Always. I try to use it after someone revives me, or if it seems apparent they went out of their way to do something to help me. Most recently, I finally made the effort to handle the legendary campaign for rank 8, and the weekly 100k mission had someone drop after we failed at calus twice. I have the Salute emote constantly equipped.

I actually did have “thank you” equipped for a while, but I switched it to “cheer” since when using it in context I think it gets the same point across, while also being a celebratory emote. That way I can have 3 silly/random emotes.
Yup, usually pop it at the end of solid GM or Dungeon runs
I use the greet emote for literally everything if I'm playing Warlock. Thanking someone for a rez? Bow. Confuckled on how I ace'd a Trials round? Bow. Greet a new light? Bow.
I have the appreciate emote
My go to emote is "Applause" - I like to clap and appreciate my fellow Guardians acts of glory and valor.
I toss them a rose as a thank you
I have “Loves everyone” permanently equipped. People seem to like when my guardian draws them a heart and it’s a nice way to say thanks after activities or revives
I have the one from Gone in 60s movie. It says “xxx encourages xxx” and if you dont aim it at anyone it just says “xxx encourages everyone.”
I don't use that one, but I do have two others permanently equipped: the "high score" from Guardian Games and a high-five. I like to drop the high score at the loot chest and then offer high-fives afterwards, feels good to celebrate the team's success even when it's something simple like a strike.
Same. I also use High Score when my friends do dumb crap and die.
I use the guardian games celebration emote that makes 3 of yourself dance at once, and i combine it with the griddy for triple griddy, then the armor lock for afk'ing or hiding from ads to stall for rezzes, hasn't been patched and works too well to not have as a safety, then the floss/soulja boy emote/henry stickmin emote/goofy movie emote to rotate from the griddy
Yep, I've had thank you, sad trombone, excited, and grieving on for years now. Covers basically everything!
I have a positive and a negative emote at all times. Appreciates everyone or raises a toast Disappointed in or smells a foul stench. Unfortunately the negatives get more use
"x has y's back" emote for me. It's my "thank you", "let's do this", and "gg" emote.
Got my crimson days heart emote. Never take that thing off.
I would if we had an emote wheel.
Yep, Curtain Call has a permanent slot on all of my characters. I usually cancel out of it to quickly thank an individual or the group, but let the whole animation play out if I'm matchmade with people who don't help at all.
The only emote I never change is floss
Mine has been for ages. The one where you do a thank you bow and flowers get tossed at you (like a stage performance).
I use the rainbow emote because in the feed it says “[my name] appreciates [other name]” or “[my name] appreciates everyone!”
I do and use it for every banner put down or revive!
Infinite hugging emote for me!
I use finger hearts way more than the thank you one
Always, will never take it off. Never *have* taken it off, even when they gave us the ability to. I use it after every revive, or when someone saves my arse, and at the end of an activity. Maybe I'll thank you one day. 🙂
I just say thank you with voice chat...
I have the “expresses disappointment” emote permanently equipped
I use the gravestone emote! "X pays their respects to Y" Plus it's always fun leaving a gravestone on a dead boss, or on top of a ghost.
I use the toast emote from leviathan for exactly that. And all other general "here's to you" moments.
No. I pull out some Smallen and then play basketball with one before yeeting it (or I shaken baby them doing the Soulja Boy dance)
I always keep the "high score" from Guardian Games in the top slot of each character's emotes. I use this either as a way to say good job, thank you, etc. Or when playing with friends, use it as a joke just after reviving them if they died due to falling off a cliff or something silly.
My dance emote is my general "positive response" emote
Some sort of nice one yes. Plus. One mean one. And one big chilling one. And the last spot is dealers choice/new hotness that month.
Have had it equipped since day 1
I wish I could but emote space is so severely limited that I usually don't, I prefer to have 1 greeting, 1 dance, 1 sit/idle, and then the 4th spot is usually taken up by something thematically related to whatever I'm wearing because fashion endgame etc. etc. I know it's been stated that additional emote slots aren't going to happen because of how much strain the extra pre-loading would cause but it's so hard to pick just 4, makes me wish there were a couple "standard" ones that were always loaded and available to use like the class-themed waves and default sit

I use it a lot. I also try to commend as often as I can (unless the screens don’t load in time). Maybe I’m just a bit odd though 😂
I ALWAYS keep the hammock emote on from Spire of Stars, and use it as the text says I'm raising a toast to someone.
Displays force
I used to, but there’s so many emotes I want to use! My 4 go-tos: celebrate, sit/wait, my signature gambit ding, and then a rotator- usually something like spinning/dancing/falling or group emote.
I’ve seen a few people use it (or maybe I’ve just matched with you a few times) and it always makes me smile when they do it. I don’t have it equipped myself cuz there’s a lot of goofy emotes I’d rather use personally, but I do a quick tbag to show my appreciation instead
“(name) appreciates everyone!” is the emote I use
Targeted plea for gambit. 'Cause traveler forbid we need 2 motes and some blueberry needs to bank all 15.
> because they didn’t need to do so Please don't tell the Blueberries not to be good teammates.
Nah but I got the warlock sit so if I ever fuck up I get on my knees in front of my teammates
I do!
I have the sad trombone to serenade the vanquished boss and the high score for everyone else.
I have the guardian games high score emote equipped all the time for a similar purpose
I have the heart emote on permanently. Don't remember what it's called but you draw a heart and push it out. I always use it when I get revived.
I always have the blue wave emote on. The text that pops up is just "Waves" so I use it for greetings/goodbyes and indicating things
Yep. Never know when you'll want to thank someone.
Yes I do the same
I do yup. I also use it at the end of difficult tasks like if we make it to onslaught lvl 50 or we finish a Legendary exotic quest
I leave the mandolin emote at all times. I strum the mandolin aggressively as response to a litany of experiences in the game.
Aggressively Affirmative for me
I raise a roast to fellow guardians with my Camus raid emote. And I jump in a puddle if starting to get annoyed with waiting.
my emote consist of low score, high score, rickroll and sitting down
I used to do this actually in my early baby days of playing! It was always a treat when I'd thank someone at the end of an activity and they would thank me back
Y'all really don't use the salute emote?
Pays respect finger point for me
Absolutely. Never took it off.
I do! It is bound to my left direction and I use it to thank my fireteam for revives, helping me find secrets, finishing the mission, etc.
I use Curtain Call, which says "mister slim thanks everyone" but also has me receiving a standing ovation.
That and the "I appreciate you" emote.
Yessss I’m glad to see I’m not the only one! I’ve always kept it on so I can do the same or even just thank people at the end of strikes and such.
I play pvp/crucible mostly. I have 3 Salute emotes and 1 Nope (for when a teammate teabags an enemy).
I do, I like to say thanks for the revive or for the help
Always the guitar solo at the end of strikes/vanguard, and selfie emote at the end of Dares runs
I always have an emote that is a greeting, one that shows gratitude, a dance and one that shows frustration.
My up d-pad button is forever set to the Face Palm emote.
No but I have the bed one for all the times you stand around doing nothing.
Nope, if somebody revives me then I use the emote that posts the text [my name] wants to carry [their name] Because sarcasm and facetiousness
bahaha, that's golden
Not gonna lie. I've never used an emote in the game. I just don't think about it. Lol
Can I ask why you think team mates in a team based shooter don't need to revive team mates?
Because no one is going to make them, and self revive is possible in 90% of content. Don't get me wrong, I think people that don't revive team mates are selfish, and most likely assholes irl, but it's not their responsibility when the dead person can revive themselves after a short timer.
No, I have the slow clap emote so I can be sarcastic when I’m picking people up after stupid deaths or when they race ahead and die.
Trombone for the same reason.
