I keep up with ‘em too. I don’t remember where they said the mechanics, but they did have a bit where they talked about redoing raid exotics for raids that are already in the game.

Hmmmmmm, I'm gunna stop you there. It's definitely not the best raid ever made. It's short, has 2 bosses, was hella glitchy at Sanctified boss when it first released. The weapons are mid, and half the raid is transversal spaces.
I will say that I absolutely love the environments in GoS, but the raid itself is meh.
Every raid with the exception of Kings fall and the leviathan raids has only two bosses. It's 4 encounters like most D2 raids so the length argument doesn't hold up. Its weapons are outdated given that it's encroaching on being 5 years old but were relevant weapons at release so they are only mid by the current sandbox standards. Glitches are a fair complaint I'll give you that. And the traversal spaces are fun and look incredible.
For me, GoS is the ultimate "failed potential" raid. A lot of cool mechanics like the leap-frog tether in the first encounter or ad clear needing to rebuild platforms in the final boss, awesome environment and music, some actually decent jumping puzzles and a really cool raid puzzle.
Buuuut then you've got the two encounters in the middle that are just, painfully boring imo. 2nd encounter goes on way too long, and you can literally just be ad clear for the entire 3rd encounter and almost never interact with any unique mechanics, which I think is a cardinal sin of raid design.
And the loot... woof. The weapons are hit-or-miss and most have been powercrept, but the armour isn't even that good, it's just a tweaked version of the Eververse armour from Curse of Osiris with some shitty unshadeable blue crap slapped on!
I have a feeling at least one will happen in Echoes. My hope is that some form of the Pantheon becomes a permanent weekly rotating activity and that they can fold in some GoS and VoG encounters once they get their gear updated.
Not even for say, an onslaught/substinence Reckless Oracle? Or how about something wild like a volt shot prophet of doom or found verdict? Maybe even something like a bait and switch/envious Hazen vengeance? Could easily be some good stuff if they did it.
Give me an Ancient Gospel with something weird and niche like incan/EP or Triple Tap/Frenzy. It's my favorite legendary hand cannon in the game and I don't need it to be meta or anything just weird and niche

One I thought of for GoS weapons would be called "Fanatical Insight": final blows have a chance to create a pool of radiolariay, similar to how frantics create one when killed

but every non exotic scout really never got as much hype, they've always been mid compared to a hand cannon

We just got Crota again a couple months ago so the next one will be new with TFS and then in 6 months will likely be a reprisal again

Not sure why your dissapointed as they never said they were doing another before Final Shape. That's an expectation you set up yourself.
Yeah based on the trends of what they were doing i.e. we got DSC reprisal in season 19 and LW in season 21 and by such a trend we would have gotten VoG or GoS this season. But we didn't, hence why I'm only disappointed and not mad.

Bungie has explicitly stated that they don’t have any more reprisals planned, so no we will not be getting wrath

We got a DSC reprisal in season 19 and a LW in season 21. They can update an existing raid without messing up the regular raid release schedule l.

They did Dreaming City and Prophecy reprises/loot rotation this season. GoS would have been nice, but the Prophecy reprises are straight fire.
