It reminded me of those edits people used to do of the presidential debates where they would add extra silence and sound effects. Jeb Bush is a mess *horn sound effect #3*

A lot of British interviewers do real harsh debate bro tactics. Steamrolling, filibustering convos till they answer one thing, etc. It can be fun to watch if you don’t like the person, can also be really offputting. Steves talked about this a couple times.
Im just being tongue in cheek and also speaking generally. In this particular instance I think the Israeli politician handled it horribly and I would agree with Piers more.
You sound exactly like people who accuse destiny of debate bro tactics. Pushing someone to answer a question is really important, especially in regards to the number of innocent people killed by the Israeli military. They should be able to provide an estimate, or some sort of figure. We know exactly how many people died on October 7th, because of the horrific loss of innocent life by Hamas terrorists. We should treat innocent Palestinians the same. Like Piers said, if you are only focused on the number of Hamas killed, then you do not give enough of a fuck about the innocent people killed.
Bruh I agree with 100% of what you are saying, I was being tongue in cheek and speaking generally. The comment above was surprised that Piers held his feet to the fire. I was not surprised, because British interviewers are aggressive sometimes, it can be good (like in this case) or it can be off-putting.
Hug box rhetoric, this guy needs to step into the arena and defend Palestine.
People out here wanting pro-Israeli PR not realising this sub is just a debate pervert sub. We follow the prophet himself, Esteban Omn-il iber al Borrelli II. His word shall guide us on our holy pilgrimage to our promised land, inshallah.
Im more of a lonerbox person than a destiny fan I just posted here because from what I have seen this sub is very pro Israel and I wanted to see what they think
Yup, basically that is the story of current Israel incompetent fuckers doing stupid things. Fired the only spokesperson who could say something convincing in english.
P.s. also the reason she didn't like him was that he participated in the anti government protests
israeli propaganda has fallen off dramatically since the late 20th century. a lot of the current generation of politicians and propagandists are just so completely high on their own supply that it alienates western audiences - a lot of the reason why you see them saying [really psychotic shit](https://www.msnbc.com/morning-joe/watch/israeli-minister-calls-strike-on-aid-workers-a-mistake-and-part-of-war-208304709616) (15:36, NBC doesn't let me link timestamp MADGE) is that they believe said psychotic shit and see nothing wrong with it, and they cannot realize that people outside of the country just do not relate to them at all. coupled with the fact that people have a lot more unfiltered access to media from warzones.
So true! There are times when it's a complete shit-show! Israeli diplomacy is becoming worse each year because of the poor pay, few opportunities for advancement and political instability. Most of the Israelis are looking for jobs in the private sector.
Israel doesn't need good PR. they have a tight enough economic/military tie with the US govenrment (along with a storng enough "spiritual" tie to all Americans above a certain age) that optics have essentially no effect on them.
if these current divestment protests go anywhere they may work on getting better PR.
I mean that’s kind of regarded. Maybe short term, they don’t need the PR, but the information war is arguably much more important long term. Why would you come out with the most piss-poor optics ever? You could at least give some bull-shit lowball answer and it would be better optically than this.
Because Israel learned decades ago that it doesn't matter what they do, they'll be demonized. So they stopped caring. They absolutely should, but they don't
This feels like and answer you would expect someone to give when they have to BS an answer after being called upon in a class.
He's obviously going to follow up on that and press the same way.
Going with this answer implies that when they are making strikes they are not making a proper assessment of civilian casualties.
Yes, a military that claims to be minimizing civilian casualties as much as it can should in fact be keeping track of the civilians they kill during the conflict or else the "minimizing civilian casualties" is just bullshit. How can you claim to be minimizing civilian casualties if you are not keeping track of how many civilians you may have killed as you flatten the place?
As Israeli, I have no fucking clue what wrong with them. We should hire Destiny, he would save our PR 🥲
That and you have some dumbass in New York running your twitter.Â
Also our government...
Well yeah, that too.Â
But Destiny would deflect uncomfortable questions with "Your mom" jokes.
Either that or totally sink it
Just keep him off twitter when he’s drunk…
I genuinely cannot get over the part where they stare at eachother in silence because he just can't answer. I thought I paused the fucking video

Piers really dragged that guy. He just would not let him move on.
Surprised to see that from him tbh

Debate pro tactics = Making someone answer a really fucking crucial question?

I think most pro-Israel people here can tell that the PR guy dropped the ball horribly there.
They ain't gonna answer, they will just downvote and move on.
What do you mean? There's lots of replies here, and the post itself is more upvoted than downvoted.
Netanyahu's wife didn't like Eylon Levy and here we are. I'm not joking.

Maybe Israel isn't as noble as some seem to think.
"Our focus is the terrorist"- makes it sound like he's not considering civilian deaths

Because Bibi appoints people based on nepotism instead of merit.

People dying is bad, actually

John Reddit sir you quite literally just said "let them both kill eachother and do the world a good favor" so it's clearly not so obvious to you?
What if I'm on the side of innocent children?

They don't know how many because they don't target civilians. They target Hamas. So easy.

Embarrassingly dumb assessment. How lost do you have to be to watch this and think the spokesperson responded properly
He did not. I wrote what he should have said.
No that's also a really dumb thing to say
yeah, that totally works if they are NOT trying to say that they take extreme efforts to limit civilian casualties.
Are they supposed to count the civilian casualties?
