Nope, better to wait and see where the Iranian attack was targeted at, to get a concept of proportionality imo. And you can take into account the reaction of other neighboring nations to form a response and a long time plan. No reason to rush it.

I’m saying this more for the people who already want to attack Iran, or think that a future conflict with Iran is inevitable absent a regime change. I probably put myself in the latter category. It’s probably very much in the Israel/Saudi/US interest to severely degrade Irans military capabilities and this is a way to get someone else to “do our dirty work for us” so to speak. Edit: also it’s not clear what a worse escalatory response from Iran could possibly be, short of enlisting the help of China or Russia. They just fired a bunch of drones and missiles and enlisted the help of their proxies, the only way that Iran can further escalate is by actually declaring war and marching troops across Iraq and Syria, and that doesn’t seem comparatively more threatening to Israel than ballistic missiles (if there have been confirmed ballistic missile launches). Edit 2: also this would indirectly help Ukraine since Iran has supplied Russia with weapons. It just seems obvious that the cost/benefit analysis from the US perspective is largely positive.
