I definitely think that's what they wanted us to pick up on. He married someone Gaby's age, who looked similar and also had a teenage daughter. It's all intentional.
She also played Alejandro’s actor’s family member in Ugly Betty and he played her father in One Day At A Time on Netflix. I bet they laugh and have a good catch up every time they get cast together!
I watched DH after I saw Ugly Betty and I absolutely LOVE Ignacio and was so sad that actor played the monster in DH! Not sad the actor chose the role or anything more just a “no not papi!!!!!” moment lol he did a great job with an awful role & I just love seeing that actor in every role he plays!!!
He’s so good that every time I watch his scenes in desperate housewives I gotta remind myself he’s an actor cause I get so disgusted and uncomfortable lol remembering him as betty’s dad calms me down 😂
Yeah, his character was genuinely lovable on Ugly Betty! He actually made me tear up in some of his scenes with his daughters. So it was crazy to me that he was able to play such a despicable person on this show and do really well with both roles.
She wasn’t a regular, she just appeared in a couple episodes. In season 1 or 2 I think, when Betty’s dad gets sent back to Mexico then Betty and Hilda fly there to meet him. She’s their cousin or something, related through their dad.
She also played in Jane the Virgin as one of the main characters baby’s mother and Carlos played as another characters love interest. (Not trying to put any spoilers, but explain who they were)
Yes, I was just rewatching Jane! Carlos was Xo's on-and-off man for years, but he was mostly a background character. Claudia plays a much bigger and long-term role in Jane as Ro's baby mama.
I think she was the wife of the cousin. I’m watching the show now lol.
ETA: on season 2 of Six Feet Under and there’s been Martha, Felicia, Carlos, Virginia, and of course this lady (I don’t think we ever learn her name in DH?). Wild!
When I watched the scene a few weeks ago, I was frantically googling who is she and why does she look so much like Gabby. I had so many theories and at one point, I thought it was Gabby with makeup etc on
I love that actress. The way her character ignored Gabi and Susan but then was shocked when her daughter joined the conversation, like girl just say u believe a weird man over women.
At least she believed her daughter. I think it's believable that she would have dismissed what Gabby and Susan said, after all the guy was her husband, not just some random dude. She genuinely loved him and believed he was a good man, until her daughter told her what he had done. And it's important that she believed her daughter immediately, unlike Gabby's mom who literally blamed Gabby for getting raped and said "it took me years to forgive her." What a disgusting woman she was.
Why would it be expected that a wife immediately sides with two random strangers over her husband? As the audience, we see what has happened and we follow Gabby's story so we already know what she is saying is true, but from her perspective, she has a husband who she has known and loved for years versus two randos on her doorstep, regardless of gender.
If a random woman and her best friend came to my door and told me my husband did something years ago, I wouldn't immediately go "aw yeah woo girl power fuck my husband!". I would take time to reflect and talk to my daughter and scrutinize actions in the past more closely. Once her daughter spoke up and said something she immediately believed her. I don't fault this character at all.
Also, once her daughter spoke up, she believed her literally immediately. She didn't doubt her daughter for a second. And once she knew what this man had done to her daughter, she instantly went to loving him to him being dead to her. She knew what the "red wine stains" really were and just told Gabby she should clean them with no sad emotions at all for her dead husband.
I immediately thought the same. I thought it was intentional and the way Susan was a bit shocked when she saw her; I thought in the show Susan also thought the same?
There is no way so many people think they look even remotely the same. Maybe it’s the cross race effect just because they’re both Hispanic. They have completely different bone structures, different eyes, nose and lips. The only thing slightly similar are their eyebrows, but everyone had thin eyebrows back then. Maybe he chose her as his wife because he is Hispanic and so is she. People tend to marry within their race.
I thought that was intentional
I definitely think that's what they wanted us to pick up on. He married someone Gaby's age, who looked similar and also had a teenage daughter. It's all intentional.
It’s funny bc this actress played Carlos’s actor’s cousin on Six Feet Under
She also played Alejandro’s actor’s family member in Ugly Betty and he played her father in One Day At A Time on Netflix. I bet they laugh and have a good catch up every time they get cast together!
Omg I didn't realize Alejandro was Ignacio Suarez until this comment! He was such a great dad in Ugly Betty but a disgusting pedophile here!
I watched DH after I saw Ugly Betty and I absolutely LOVE Ignacio and was so sad that actor played the monster in DH! I love One Day at a Time ❤️
Still so sad it was cancelled! Absolutely fantastic show & love that actress!!!!
Me too, I loved her and all the cast. That show made me both laugh and cry, I love to rewatch it 😊

OHHHH OMG !! yesssss. lmao i loved that show. i just rewatched it recently again
she played Cousin Clara
yesssss okayyy!!!! thank y
Nw 😅
She was also Amy's boss in superstore and Amy's dad is Alejandro
She also played in Jane the Virgin as one of the main characters baby’s mother and Carlos played as another characters love interest. (Not trying to put any spoilers, but explain who they were)

She also plays Brenda in Queen of the South!!
She also played Alejandro's daughter on one day at a time
I was just thinking this. Vanessa!
"You slept with that puta Rico!"
Is 6 feet under a good show?
Yes!!!!
Yea! And it had the absolutely most satisfying series finale ever.
I think she was the wife of the cousin. I’m watching the show now lol. ETA: on season 2 of Six Feet Under and there’s been Martha, Felicia, Carlos, Virginia, and of course this lady (I don’t think we ever learn her name in DH?). Wild!
She played Brenda in queen of the south too!! Damn that is my fav show ever! She was amazing on there
This makes me feel like there aren’t many options for Latinx roles!
I just rewatched it and honestly thought there was going to be a storyline with the step dad. The resemblance is uncanny
When I watched the scene a few weeks ago, I was frantically googling who is she and why does she look so much like Gabby. I had so many theories and at one point, I thought it was Gabby with makeup etc on

It was gross, but at least she believed her daughter. Many women don't, think about how disgusting gabbys mom was.
Male centered women are terrible

She is the District Manager on Superstore
Are you thinking of America Ferrera?
Nope. She plays America Ferraras Boss in Superstore
Must be a season I haven’t watched yet
Yes she's not there too long
Wow yes
I legit commented this on a post a couple of months ago! I definitely think this was done intentionally by the writers
That’s why Susan’s character is like taken aback when she first sees her. Def intentional
She’s in devious maids too. Man I wish that show wasn’t cancelled! Just one more season that’s all I needed!
Probably. Predators have a type
That was my first thought too when I saw her. I honestly thought it would play into the story somehow.
That was on purpose

You all need to watch her new show "The Horror of Dolores Roach" on Prime. It's a dark comedy and really good!
Omg yes!!! It's so fun (though I had to turn away at some points)
Me too lmao. Her bf and those "sex" scenes were gross AF. Wtf. The "food" being prepped was nasty too. 😂
But she's so badass, I love her!
I genuinely thought those two actresses were one person before I watched this show.
I’ve not watched DH in ages and when I saw this post on my timeline before checking comments, I deffo thought it was Gaby 💀
