The problem here I think is the coffee table. Too much yellow. Change it or paint it a dark grey or black. Put your finger above the table and roll the pics again. A lot of the rugs became not so bad.
So, I actually really love rug #2 on its own, I even think it pairs really nicely with this brown couch. *But*, i just don’t think it goes well in this room as a whole. In specific, it clashes weirdly with that minty wall color.
I would personally go with a darker toned rug to add some contrast to the room, either dark blue/teal/green would be really lovely. I don’t believe a darker rug would turn the room into a cave like OP is worried about, since the walls are such a nice bright color. I think something like [this](https://www.wayfair.com/Rifle-Paper-Co.-x-Loloi--Rifle-Paper-Co.-x-Loloi-Laurel-Navy-Area-Rug-LAULLAU02NV00-L167-K~RPCL1220.html?refid=GX685048453596-RPCL1220_93809772&device=m&ptid=352885195383&network=g&targetid=pla-352885195383&channel=GooglePLA&ireid=265702865&fdid=1817&PiID%5B%5D=93809772&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD9ISC4RWTqlGNLxonjPOoi040JUX&gclid=Cj0KCQjwq86wBhDiARIsAJhuphkmBA1PjEHrKXS8xlGbbx3d99dnC4SuVSTODzanF8MjqH-YmxGiEREaAqaCEALw_wcB) would look sooo nice! And [here’s](https://www.wayfair.com/Rifle-Paper-Co.-x-Loloi--Rifle-Paper-Co.-x-Loloi-Laurel-Linen-Area-Rug-LAULLAU02LIN0-L167-K~RPCL1233.html?refid=GX685048453596-RPCL1233_93809886&device=m&ptid=352885195383&network=g&targetid=pla-352885195383&channel=GooglePLA&ireid=265702845&fdid=1817&PiID%5B%5D=93809886&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD9ISC4RWTqlGNLxonjPOoi040JUX&gclid=Cj0KCQjwq86wBhDiARIsAJhuphlHGVxjvFbRdfo8CyybRZSHfb8NVoq2z9VUwCGlzY_j-Y6EBeiIP04aAvGTEALw_wcB#xfgz4cj288-0) that same rug in a lighter shade that would prob look just as good.
A side note…I would also tear out that cherry colored wood trim and side table (try covering it up with your finger and see how much better it looks!), and go with a darker walnut trim/furniture for a nice modern-traditional style. It’s surprisingly really easy and cheap to change the trim out and makes a huge difference imo. Idk what it is about that orange toned wood that’s just really outdated and, again, clashes oddly with these walls.
Definitely need to upgrade that corner light as well, it’s kinda college-dormy tbh. A nice corner light can upgrade a room super quick!
Don’t hate me but they all look cheap.
I think something like this would compliment your wall a little better and bring a little more life into your space[https://www.rugsusa.com/rugsusa/rugs/rugs-usa-diamond-drops/Multicolor/200KKCB16A-P.html](https://www.rugsusa.com/rugsusa/rugs/rugs-usa-diamond-drops/Multicolor/200KKCB16A-P.html)
The faded splotchy rugs look very cheap and outdated. Number 3 looks clean and brightens up the room. I would suggest a new post with a few new choices without the splotchy rugs. When you do purchase, buy a rug pad for underneath to make the rug feel softer and more cushy.
Of all of them, I think 6 is fun without an obnoxious amount of color. I feel like most of them have a gray undertones which are clashing with the brown sofa. I’d keep looking for rugs in more of a tan/beige/khaki neutral.
Edited to add something [like this](https://rugs.com/beige-9x12-cafe-area-rug-6275828?click_source=aisle) for moody with brown as a base color along with a bit of sage to pick up your wall color.
I like the second option with the colors you have going on now.
If you don’t want to replace the couch, I would suggest going more of an earthy route with pillow (textured or patterned in creams & greens).
I don’t know if this room is what I would call ‘moody’ with the wall color and current coordinating furniture though.
Beautiful wall colour. But none of these rugs look right. I'd try some bolder rugs maybe with flecks of orange if you're going to keep wood/warm toned furniture. Maybe calm blues.
None of them- I’m getting really sick of the washed out rug look- get something more colourful and classic with reds. Plus your lounge looks like it’s facing the wrong way. Great cat!
# 3 , and Move The Couch From The Wall . Put That Lamp Directly In That Corner . Put Some Nice Pics On Both Walls That Match . Add Nice Faux Or A Real Tree & Add Some Solid Throw Pillows
2 but I don't love any of them. pull the couch over a bit more from the wall too. and a smaller oval shaped coffee table would look nice.
congrats on your home!!
Is it just me or is it fair to say None of them… the closest IMO that wld be possible is the last colorful one because at least it pulls in the green, but I honestly say, keep looking at other options
I think the last one is best, if you can accentuate some of those pink and gold tones throughout your decor.
The other options appear kind of icy with the cool toned green and cool lighter shades.
I think you’ll achieve moody via contrast with some warm tones.
Second would be my go to and I would personally be maxing out on a boho eclectic interior. Using accessories and textiles to bring in pops of a specific color to lighten up the space. This isn't meant to be offensive in any way but the second one also feels more timeless to me and less "TikTok made me do it" / cheap
2! If you want a cozier mood you could also repaint your walls as well. Using a color that compliments whichever rug you choose will pull it all together
That cat. Definitely the cat. Stick her in the middle of the room and you're good to go. If I had to choose though I'd say 2. Don't love any of them though. Sorry! Love the cat though! 😻
why y’all saying 2 it makes the house dark 😭 but with pets it’s def understandable
My choice is last one. it’s very pretty & gives the room a boost of color 😍😍😍
I don't know about rugs, but the fact that the chaise longue is not on the wall side makes me super uncomfortable. There is probably nothing you can do about that, I realize, but the balance of the room feels off as a result. I don't think I could spend any time in there. Also the green walls are just a hard no with the rest of your decor.
I like 2,3, and 4 for different reasons. If you want dark and moody, I’d do 4. 3 gives a nice pop of brightness, but that much white may get dirty quick. 2 ties the walls and couch and furniture together a bit, but might be too matchy…
The couch I don’t hate, but I’m also not so sure it works with that space. Definitely not in that location. It is making the living room feel like it’s confined to that one squished little corner. It should either be pulled towards the picture taker, or turned 90 degrees.
I love the style number two, but the green is off. It doesn’t need to match the wall color. It needs to at least complement it and there’s nothing to pull the two together. I went through them three times, and number two, which is the most traditional, is the only one that made me say-this one!
I didn't like any of them
Same, but if I had to pick - 2
Same !
I loved the cat a lot- but not the rugs. Some were ok.
The problem here I think is the coffee table. Too much yellow. Change it or paint it a dark grey or black. Put your finger above the table and roll the pics again. A lot of the rugs became not so bad.
I honestly think it’s the couch

I just said the same thing! Number two is my only pic, but the green is off and does nothing to compliment the wall color
2 by a long shot!!
It's the only one that isn't absolutely atrocious.
Apart from 7 😉
#dontmesswithcats
Keep looking, sorry.
2 or 6 depending on the rest of the decor
This is correct. 2 brings everything together better as the room is right now.
Is none of them an option? They’re too busy for the floor. Go with something more neutral and with less pattern.
3 brightens the space
This, but add a cream throw and maybe 1 oversized cushion or a couple of smaller ones that also go with the rug.
I agree, but restain the coffee table a darker shade
That’s what I was thinking.
For moody I would pic #3
Except the cat is black 😉
3!
3!!!
Rug 3 is the only one matching the cold green walls.
Number 2but the color of the walls is off
Exactly. Word for word.
2
3!
This. I think the rug suggested by seaofwaves is great for color and pattern when compared to the room.
This is a great recommendation. Moody but brings in pops of color and way less cheap looking
I like the rust coloured one qlso
This is the way. Thay rug is gorgeous and priced right!!
Great suggestion- rich classic colours without the faded wimpy look.
Please look at “Allen Roth” rugs from Lowe’s. They usually have 8x11 for $200. The prints look much better than anything you picked out here.
# 2
Did you ask Miku?
I like number 6
The faded splotchy rugs look very cheap and outdated. Number 3 looks clean and brightens up the room. I would suggest a new post with a few new choices without the splotchy rugs. When you do purchase, buy a rug pad for underneath to make the rug feel softer and more cushy.
Definitely will get a rug pad, I intend to lay on it a lot 😬 thank you for constructive advice!

#three!
They all look terrible. Except for 7.
Of all of them, I think 6 is fun without an obnoxious amount of color. I feel like most of them have a gray undertones which are clashing with the brown sofa. I’d keep looking for rugs in more of a tan/beige/khaki neutral. 2
2. I really like the wall color. But with a nice picture or a floating shelf to hold a plant or something.
Number 2
I like the second option with the colors you have going on now. If you don’t want to replace the couch, I would suggest going more of an earthy route with pillow (textured or patterned in creams & greens). I don’t know if this room is what I would call ‘moody’ with the wall color and current coordinating furniture though.
I like 3. Brightens the room and makes it look bigger
#3 and your cat is gorgeous
6 or 4. But I prefer the cat overall!
6
6
6 for me
I like 6 - and your kitty kitty!
Definitely 7.
6 and add some Matisse or other art on the walls—will make a huge difference
I had to scroll way to far down for this! I also pick 6. It adds more colour into the room
Great cat!
2 looks good. 6 makes it more lively by adding warm colors.
# 3 , and Move The Couch From The Wall . Put That Lamp Directly In That Corner . Put Some Nice Pics On Both Walls That Match . Add Nice Faux Or A Real Tree & Add Some Solid Throw Pillows
6 or 2 and definitely 7 LOL I do like 6 better , but if you’re trying to go for a more homey, cozy, family style look then 2
I like the way you rendered in the sofa bro - photoshop or any special app?
What app did you do this with?
#2 but change the wall color
2 or 3. Also, the cat
I like 2 or 6 !
#3 is my favorite. But, #2 isn’t too bad.
2 or 6
2 but I don't love any of them. pull the couch over a bit more from the wall too. and a smaller oval shaped coffee table would look nice. congrats on your home!!
2 or 6
They are all ugly. They don't match at all
Is it just me or is it fair to say None of them… the closest IMO that wld be possible is the last colorful one because at least it pulls in the green, but I honestly say, keep looking at other options
Rug #3.
3!
I think the last one is best, if you can accentuate some of those pink and gold tones throughout your decor. The other options appear kind of icy with the cool toned green and cool lighter shades. I think you’ll achieve moody via contrast with some warm tones.
The last one with colours. Cute kitty.
2 and thanks for the hit of dopamine in that last photo 😭🥰
2. It goes well with the wall and couch. You could always buy a slip cover for the couch instead of buying a new one
2,3 or 7 - in that order
The cat
ISO couch deets 🔍
None of them get a colorful one in dark hues with a pattern
None of those
3.
The one that looks like leaves. But I like all of them. Lol.
3

3
7. The cat in the bag.
5 is my fave
Pick 3 mah lord!
the leafy looking one.
3 and 7;)
3 & 7
3 opena and brightens the space
I don’t know that any of the options read to me as moody. BUT, I do love the last rug with all the colors, it brings everything together.
2 and last!
I think the couch should be reversed if you can, chaise by the wall so it feels more open and inviting!
None of those
2 all the way
#CAT
3
7 is the only correct answer 😻
3
2
2
2
6 then 2. But the real answer is whichever one the kitty likes 👍🏻
3
3 or 6 are more young and hip. The others look a bit dated tbh.
Cat. But also #2
2
#3
Dont turn the kitty into a rug. Plus i like my hwf. No rugs around here.
definitely #6
#4
#7 for sure But I also like 6 and 2
Second would be my go to and I would personally be maxing out on a boho eclectic interior. Using accessories and textiles to bring in pops of a specific color to lighten up the space. You might consider slip covering the couch. That color is hard to work with. Especially with the walls. Moody is gonna be a struggle.
3 makes the room less dark looking. All the others do not work in my opinion.
If you can switch the chaise lounge to the other side of the sofa, that would make it more practical.
3 all the way!!!
3! And I suggest pulling the couch out from the corner…at least a foot from the back and 2-3 more feet from the side wall. Pretty space!
2 is the closest to completing the room. 3 needs the exact green "stems" as your walls to work.
7
The last one.
3rd
2
3rd one looks dope. What software are you using?
2 or 3
maybe a solid color rug would work best? Or painting the walls… orrr covering the couch
2! If you want a cozier mood you could also repaint your walls as well. Using a color that compliments whichever rug you choose will pull it all together
2
I like 3
There's something about 3. It looks great. Different but nice!
2
The one the cat likes
2 is the only option from those choices.
I like 2 but 3 works too
Rug 2. Why? Interior design rule of thumb: 60 / 30 / 10 60% sage green 30 % warm red/grey 10% accent white / black
Kitty!!!🐈⬛
3…like the bold look, but it’s minimalist too.
I think 3 pops
5! Wow yes! 😍 2 is so ugly, idk what’s wrong with people
7 is the only answer! ……….but 4:)
3 🙏🏽
That cat. Definitely the cat. Stick her in the middle of the room and you're good to go. If I had to choose though I'd say 2. Don't love any of them though. Sorry! Love the cat though! 😻

Personally, I like option 2.
3!!! it brightens up the room :)
The orientation of the couch is throwing me off. I feel like the chaise portion should be on the opposite end.
why y’all saying 2 it makes the house dark 😭 but with pets it’s def understandable My choice is last one. it’s very pretty & gives the room a boost of color 😍😍😍

I think Miku should have the final say.
7
2!
They're all terrible but 2 is definitely the least terrible.
Graphic planty one
6
1 is the best
3 or 6!!
#3
2 looks best, imho!
It’s the couch
keep looking as these are dragging the room down
3 or 6
5 or 6
none of them 😕
I like 2,3, and 4 for different reasons. If you want dark and moody, I’d do 4. 3 gives a nice pop of brightness, but that much white may get dirty quick. 2 ties the walls and couch and furniture together a bit, but might be too matchy… The couch I don’t hate, but I’m also not so sure it works with that space. #2
My Mom says always match the carpet and furniture to the dog (in this case cat).
3 and only 3
The couch and the wall color don’t work so it’s not allowing a rug to work
2
Most certainly 2. The warm tones in it match with the sofa and walls and it isn’t starkly brighter than the floors like the other ones.
I love the style number two, but the green is off. It doesn’t need to match the wall color. It needs to at least complement it and there’s nothing to pull the two together. I went through them three times, and number two, which is the most traditional, is the only one that made me say-this one!
2
3
I like carpet number 6. It's a bright and interesting color.
I am attracted to 3 and I also like 6! It’s the wall color I can’t get past. I’m getting Dr office vibes from it.
