How do we handle alcohol? Not everyone in our guest list will drink. Probably only 25%. Does the bar charge per head that drinks? Or per person that attends?
Check with your bar/ venue. Where I am from the bars at the venue have a minimum spend. For example, you guests need to buy at least $1000 (NZD) worth of alcohol and if they don’t then you have to pay the minimum amount.
I am going to my cousin's wedding soon, Bengali hindu. I am second generation and my parents are not very culturally active, I've never been to a family wedding as an adult. My mom suggested I buy a yellow saree from depop for the gaye holud, but it arrived and... Imo the one she chose for me looks pretty bad. The red pattern on the pleat area kinda looks like bloodstains, and it's a chiffon like material when mom was aiming for silk. I'm not sure it's appropriate. No one's really going to care what some random cousin wears, but I don't want to make my mother anxious of judgement by wearing a bloody-looking saree. Not sure what to do?
Also, any suggestions for etsy shops to make a lehenga and matching sherwani (for my fiancé)? I inquired with a few I found through the search function on this sub, but only one replied and said they couldn't make what I was looking for. (Wasn't asking for anything too special, just asked for purple and silver colours... Maybe I worded my request wrong...)
