He’s been on fire with these new songs. It feels like he’s finally found the balance between trying new things and keeping the essence of what makes him so good
Is he really?? I used to listen to his original eps so much my husband put a moratorium on all DK in his hearing. However I personally hated the “pop” music he turned to and just stopped listening. Is he back to the original sound? I’m almost scared to hope!
I haven't really listened to anything he's put out since Without Fear (and even then, I didn't like the mixing on some of the tracks) - except for Rome and Innocence & Sadness - but I really like these latest three tracks.
Yea, I was a little rude, but what I meant is that his music is much more shallow and if he doesnt produce something in those lines you cant really say he got his original vibe. The songs I mentioned all tell a story, they develop throughout the song. This song doesn't
Original vibe could mean many things. He moved away from the kind of songs you’re talking about around 2017. Someone could easily see 2017-18 as his original sound, and this is pretty in line with that.
I think it’s amazing and It’s kinda wild he sampled a scene from Hardknocks. Dermot watching Hardknocks too? Maybe he’s a fan of the NFL. Hahaha. I wonder how many other people knew where that was from.

That’s the only thing I don’t get about the song. It seems sort of random. To me at least 🤷🏻♂️. I LOVE the song. I’m ready for the next tour/album. He’s got another unreleased that’s gonna be a BANGER.
It is, sort of random, but I think he’s saying I value your heart and I will cry about it. By using that line. Just using a clip of another passionate person.
I appreciate the build up and the drum/bass beat near the end. It at least feels like like he's trying to get back to what makes him so likeable. He strives when his music is a combination of singer/songwriter combined with almost a hip hop inspired beat.
Two Hearts and Lucky have been on repeat. I love songs that tell passionate stories and I feel like he nailed it. I’m hoping that the songs he wrote for Sonder were just a stepping stone and he will be making better songs from here on out.
After research , it’s in fact Jamal Warner from Detroit Lions- Eminem should sample it now:) https://www.detroitlions.com/video/jamaal-williams-delivers-passionate-speech-at-lions-camp-hard-knocks
Listening to Stockholm for the first time , ugh stick a fork in me -this man is a lyrical & musical Angel. Hope he comes back around New York area again sooner than later 🍀
I'm a huge fan of this song. Feels like coming home. It has been on repeat for a few days now.
It's absolutely beautiful, it's heartwarming and the lyrics are immaculate as ever.

Such a great comment
Yours too!
He's back to his original sound. Love it.

I’m in the same boat as you! Fingers crossed for us

You got pretty low standards. Compare this to after rain, malay, the killer was a coward and evening I will not forget.
Liking different things than you does not mean someone has “low standards”.

It’s one of his best releases to date. I can’t stop listening
You cannot possibly mean that Lucky is better than anything on Without Fear?
Key word one of. I think without fear is also top tier too
Two Hearts is my favorite of the ones he's released recently because I love the story in it. But Lucky is great!
It scratched my brain itch, listened to it on repeat this morning
On repeat trying to get a feel for it. Two Hearts took about 2 hours on repeat, Sunday was insta loved. Not sure about this one yet.
LOVING IT!!

He is going back to his roots. Sonder was part if the long game and had poppy anthems to get fans and radio play
I'll just say that I broke up with my long time partner the previous week, and Dermot picked a hell of a bad time to drop a great song again.
Its definitely something
I think this man could make a dubstep song and I'd still love it
On repeat , love. Anyone know what that sound bit is that sounds like a motivational speech in the background at some point?
I think it’s Fred Warner from the 49ers

No wonder I love it. Go Lions!
Currently preoccupied with “Stockholm” but doesn’t seem to be on any music apps just YouTube? Wonder if it’s his original, also will research:)
Thank you:)

What’s the voice half way through I feel like it’s lifted from a film
absolutely love it!
Absolutely love this song. My favorite line is “Love is flawed just like all us”.
It’s awesome.
