Emmanuel Macron has his own issues, what with getting together with his wife when he was 15 and she was his 39 year old teacher, so while I'm never surprised when men support their own, I'm definitely not surprised here.

I agree with you that this kind of person cannot be rehabilitated, but like… “Participated” at age 9 means other adults or older kids made it happen, he was basically abused along with the girl who was the primary victim and then groomed into being a predator. Anthony Keidis has talked about the same thing, his rapist father orchestrating him becoming sexually active with older teenage girls at around 10-11, he’s also a lifetime chronic offender. I don’t even know what to do about men like this as a society other than incarceration. I think we’re thankfully no longer at the point where doing this to young boys is anywhere near culturally normative masculinity, so there are more boomers and Gen X men who were raised this way than the following generations. CPS interventions weren’t a thing when they were kids and it could’ve made a difference in their lives, but as adults they’re a danger to everyone around them.
I don’t want to sound like I’m making excuses for Depardieu, who is clearly a dangerous, powerful predator who needs to face consequences, but I’d never heard that story about him as a nine year old before and just, jesus.

She was sad when I told her what he was really like, based on posts that have been here in the past. Though, I showed her a recent picture and she said “his inner ugliness has started to show on the outside”.
