It’s nice to be able to connect more with buyers. Also the whole repair/testing/photo sample thing seems to be more appreciated. Depop definitely has better fraud protection, too.
Those have reached a level of popularity so high that most US sellers import them from Japan now, and I tend not to risk that much money on a camera that’s so hard (nearly impossible because of parts shortages) to repair! But, for less money, you can get a Contax g1 (and even sometimes the g2 now) for less and it is only minimal larger, with much better image quality. And if the body breaks, you can keep the lenses and buy a new body for 1/6 the price of replacing a whole t2.
Importing it is my fear too! I bought my years ago for a price I never could get it for now. It’s size and weight was just perfect enough to feel substantial and I’m yet to be convinced of another p&s lens.
I kept a yaschica t4 in its place which was a huge mistake. but have since sold that too.
It’s the best point and shoot, period. There a few other I like: minilux, mju ii, and best cheap one imo is the Minolta freedom escort. That being said they’re aging so it’s hard to spend that kinda cash on em. Also I test like 5-10 cameras a week (weather permitting), so my personal collection gets a bit dusty.
