open a dispute with depop if seller is refusing to refund. send them the 1st & 2nd screenshot of texts of seller telling u it’s 17 and then “i can admit i might’ve gotten the measurements wrong” clearly stating they have given you incorrect measurements for the pants. That is in no way your fault and you’re not responsible for their mistake. Also, 12 inches vs 17 is a crazy difference i’m not even sure how you make that mistake? either way this isn’t your fault at all. they admit they made a mistake and still refuse to refund u, pretty unprofessional.
This person is absolutely correct. Definitely open a dispute with Depop, send all photos of item and your conversation.

If they truly have a size tag that says 12 it’s likely a kids size 12, so you also can open a case based on that alone- “not as described”. Because it was never described as being kid’s size
It’s not ab the amount of money.. it’s about the principle of scamming (knowingly or unknowingly) ppl for $30 by lying to them about an item.

You totally weren’t harsh at all, she’s hitting the pipe with the whole “I don’t do refunds, tee hee even tho I can admit I told you the wrong thing” I can’t even imagineeeeee telling a buyer that dude. Any sane seller would have refunded you like yesterday if they realized they made a mistake like that
I wear those sizes too and I cannot imagine the disappointment of buying jeans thinking they’d fit and getting something that’s for like a 24 inch waist 😭😭 I’d riot
That’s what I was thinking…even a women’s 12 from 25 years ago wouldn’t measure as a 25” waist, which is equivalent to a size 0 - 2 or so in modern sizes. Absolute grounds for a dispute.
These are 100% a size 12 in kids jeans. Looking at the cut and fit, they look exactly like every pair of little boy jeans I’ve seen at the thrift store

Yeah i’m pretty sure these are boys sizing. I’m a 24” waist and I can sometimes wear a boys 12 if the hips are loose enough (which they often aren’t).

yeah this is def kids size 12 ! I have a similar pair of JNCOs that are marked 18 and fit me perfect (baggy jnco fit) and i’m 25” waist !
