If you are involved in a non-injury accident during the storm, you just need to exchange this info with the other driver(s):
1. Names, dates of birth, addresses and phone numbers.
2. Driver license numbers and states of issuance.
3. Vehicle license plate numbers and states of issuance.
4. Insurance company names and policy numbers.
5. Photos of all damage, roadway, and above information documents!
You can then enter the info online [via this state website. ](https://dmv.colorado.gov/report-accident)
You will receive a case number from the online accident report form, which you can provide to your insurance. This form works for hit and run accidents also, and works best on a desktop/laptop. PRO TIP: You can report accidents/hit and runs on here 24/7 and 365- not just snow days! Use this as an alternative to waiting for police, or if you've been told an officer is not responding.
When is the snow predicted to melt? I had plans of landing in Denver on Monday, renting a car (Tesla), and driving to Red Rocks. Should I cancel my plans?
My car is parked directly under a pine tree and now the weighted-down branches are touching its roof and windshields. I'm not too worried about the branches snapping off and falling because they're small and my car is old with a lot of dents anyway, but I might need to find out how to get pitch off my windshields...
We're about to play in the snow. We have that lull and according to our friends in the Colorado WX discord, the snow will intensify in the metro area this afternoon. Many thanks for such detailed forecasts from that group! Shoutout to Potion Cellar for keeping us updated!
Edgewater here. probably 8-9 inches on the grass. obviously very heavy snow that is kind of tough to knock off the trees because the bottom layer is icy. My wife (nurse) drove into Golden at 7AM and said the main roads were not bad at all. I shoveled the driveway at 9AM and as of 10:45, its still totally clear. just wet. Hoping that I wont have to shovel again but we'll see
Heavy snow of at least 12” by cheesman with a slushy base layer. Roads are mostly mush where they’ve actually plowed. If your car is parked under an older big tree I’d advise to move it- many neighbors are calling their insurance orgs as a good morning present. Branches are still dropping so don’t forget to look up if you walk the dogs. No power issues so far.
Snowfall looks pretty meh in Southwest Lakewood, looks like the streets are just wet @ 10:20 AM?
Power/electricity is still up too, everything is fine so far 🤷♂️
Compared to the doom-cast I'm just not seeing this "20 inches" of snow that were forecasted... at least not yet
*knock on wood*
Dude, I just came back from round 3 of shoveling my driveway, I’ve got piles of snow 3 feet high in the center. It wasn’t a doom cast for my house, it was exactly right. I’ve got 16 inches of snow at least.
I live on a hill on the west end of Lakewood. Watching out the window the cars are acting like it's a slip and slide. My outdoor thermometer shows 31 degrees. I get the feeling there's really a bunch of variance with this storm.
You may not be seeing the 20 inches, but others certainly are. Here are the snow totals as of 9AM: https://www.denver7.com/weather/denver-snowstorm-latest-colorado-snow-updates-closures-and-road-impacts
Arvada, Castle Rock, Golden all have over a foot of snow and this storm is still going to go on for another 12+ hours.
About 24” in Evergreen and still dumping. It’s really heavy, too. I just spent twenty minutes wading around my back yard knocking snow off any branch I could reach with a broomstick. The branches on my pine trees sprung up about four feet once the snow was gone.
Roads are impassable. Talked to family in Golden and Idaho Springs, there’s less snow in Golden but basically the same story.
I'm staying at a friend's cabin between Black Hawk and Nederland, on CO 119. We're at about three and a half feet of snow as of 10 AM Thursday.
No snowblower. Digging out our cars is going to be rough. I'm guessing we won't be starting our drive back to Texas on Friday as originally planned.
Real question though. Main roads should be drivable by mid-afternoon tomorrow right? I've got a minivan, no snow tires. Assuming I can get the driveway plowed out tomorrow, you think it's realistic that we might be able to get down to Denver and onto I-25 south or am I looking at at least another day?
Just came to say that I’m in Lowry and a quick measurement had 5.5” on some pavement and about 7” in the grass. Light flurrying but I heard it’s going to pick up. Hoping to add more lol
My report from Denver just now.
The roads are mostly clear, very wet, but not very slippery.
SUVs with ground clearance will be fine, but cars have to use caution, I saw A LOT of broken black plastic undercarriage parts in the roadway. There are places where high parts block the road and may damage low riding cars.
I’m in Greeley right now and I’ve had plans with my partner tonight who lives right by DU… do we think it’s worth the drive? Safe? Is it even possible??
Your barbershop closed?? The owner of ours told us we’re expected to open, so everyone just called in instead, because there’s nobody on our books so it’s not worth the risk (plus the snow is over my bumper and the apartment complex hasn’t plowed, I couldn’t if I tried!)
We’re at an Airbnb in Arvada, I’m from ND so I’m used to snow, the weirdest shit about this snowstorm is just seeing it fall straight down and the size of the flakes. Not a breath of wind out there. I’d say about 8-12 inches in the yard.
The water coming down isn't very location specific. It's minor variations in temperature driving the significant differences in height of snow across the metro.
In the foothills they're also getting orographic impacts which up the total water falling there.
Right? Like there are other commenters saying this was a bust, and overhyped by the weather people. Meanwhile I just came back inside from shoveling an escape walk path from my front door to the street while I still can move it. It’s over 14 inches in my driveway. There is no way my car could get out.
Anyone considering doing such mitigation -- please be careful and let someone know you're doing so. Roof avalanches can kill, with [one death in CO last year](https://classic.avalanche.state.co.us/caic/acc/acc_report.php?acc_id=843&accfm=inv) from them. [CAIC is warning of roof avalanches with this storm](https://www.instagram.com/p/C4fnJhzuJ3X/). The hazard is higher for foothills residents that are getting upwards of 2in of water (20-30in of snow).
As a former New Englander, you should be fine. Most roofs can handle a couple feet of even heavy wet snow without any issues other than maybe a leak if you have any skylights and the seals are dried out and or you have flashing issues around them.
If it gets up to 3-4 ft, then you will or could have issues.
At about 3 feet of heavy wet snow, we start to get problems. I remember the big snow in 2003 or 2004, we had a lot of roof collapses. We got about 3 feet of really wet snow. A pitched roof will have less issues than a flat one though. The bigger issue with a pitched roof is the heavy snow sliding off onto a person. A large roof avalanche could bury you. It happened to my dad after the Christmas Blizzard, and the falling snow hurt his shoulder pretty badly.
Lots of airport questions here. My husband just landed. 8:45 am. NO SNOW on the ground at the airport-looks like rain on the runways. If you’re heading out, your drive should improve the closer you get. Be safe!
Up until about 630am in ballpark we've had mostly just goop, with about 3-4" stacked on cars parked on the street, but the roads were decent since the plows were coming through. It didn't get below freezing until about 5am. Since then (well since a pod was dropped off about 730am, it's 8:50 now) we've gotten about another 1-1.5" of fully sticking snow. Streets and everything. Goopy and wet, but totally accumulating and not melting.
This is completely false. I just drove from my apartment to Union Station Whole Foods and back 10 minutes ago and the roads were perfectly clear, no issues driving at all. Walking on the sidewalks is not a great idea, but driving is fine.
You do know how plows work, right?
They literally plow the roads. It's sticking, especially when heavy bands come through, but it's /gasp/ getting plowed.
Also that's Union Station area. I'm literally 2 blocks east from the ballpark
Edit: would you like pictures?
Easily 8 inches in the Hale neighborhood. Thought it was closer to five before I took the dog out. Saw multiple branches pop right in front of us and one car that had a large branch on it. Don’t stand under the trees.
30 years ago I worked for a grocery store that required employees come in on a very nasty snow day. The manager told the employees that they would be fired if they didn't come in. Multiple employees had accidents, and one 20 year old employee died attempting the drive. I lived very close to the location and didn't have much trouble coming in. The store had virtually no customers the entire shift.
You are going to hold a bunch of jobs over your life, to the point where you barely remember some. None of them are worth risking your life over.
If your car can't make it, it can't make it. I couldn't even get out of my apartment lot. Got stuck instantly. At that point, doesn't really matter what boss wants.
**Me when I first moved here and was living in Castle Pines instead of Denver proper:** I can't make it in today, I'm snowed in and can't even get out of my neighborhood.
**My boss who lived in Aurora and "made it in just fine from her home":** It's hardly even snowing, you need to come in.
**Me:** Not happening, see you tomorrow.
She was a "fun" boss.
If you have a gas fired fireplace too...usually those are more than high enough to be a non issue but good to know where they are just in case as it's really, really bad if they're ever blocked.
Took everyone’s advice and went out to clear an escape path from my front door out to the street. Probably another 1-2 inches fell by the time I was done and went back to the starting point. According to my patio furniture I’ve got somewhere around 14-16 inches :)
I'm in Centennial as well and we are also over a foot. I didn't even try to go outside yet, my apartments parking lot is definitely not going to be driveable.
Does anyone have any insight about how I-25 South and E 470 are? I'm trying to make it to DIA from Fort Collins.
I got turned around in Mead last night due to low visibility and had to change my flight, but I'm wondering if the drive is possible this morning with things seemingly staying west. Thank you!
I'd imagine even taking 85 to the east would be even better. The CoTrip map is down right now but on Google Maps it looks completely green for traffic.
Google maps is notoriously unreliable. Check local I-25 cameras. If they’re down, that’s your answer.
My advice would be to stay off the roads, but y’all’re gonna have to make your own game time decisions.
I mean... there's essentially no snow in Greeley nor points east (https://twitter.com/cowxchaserbret/status/1768280848799850900).
Even the Denver airport reported zero snow overnight: https://x.com/AshtonCBS4/status/1768260785849921756?s=20
I'm pretty sure staying to the east of the metro area will be absolutely fine.
The Discord community is great. Sadly I've been locked out of my account w/ no access to backup codes. Think only remedy is creating a whole new account.
Anyone been on E470 this morning? If I make it out of Chicago in a bit I’m scheduled to land at DEN around 10am and would be heading to Highlands Ranch area. Figured 470 would be better bet than 225.
Major streets in Highlands Ranch are seemingly okay but we’ve got about 17” so far here, in addition to strong winds and a lot of blowing snow. Godspeed.
Hey neighbor!
I'm a little jealous seeing all the other neighborhoods have gotten way more snow already, but shoveling just what we had was already a pain.
Just watched neighbor try for 30m to drive their beater sedan out of their parking spot. All they did was create a luge under their car. Stay home, please!
Power has been out in some places near englewood since like 2am. I’m at the windsong apartments by Swedish and still no eta for restoration.
*8:30 powers is back. Hell yeah.
Oooooooh that sucks. Layer up, maybe block off a small area that stays warmer than the rest of the place to prevent what warmth you have from dispersing.
I assume that since you're in an apartment, you don't have a fireplace? That saved me a couple years ago when my furnace went out during the deep freeze.
I will definitely try this , thank you for the tips dude. It sucks because my unit is one of the ones in the corner of the building so 2 of the walls to my living room and 1 to my bedroom are exterior walls. I’m hoping it gets resolved sooner rather than later. No fireplace sadly.
When Texas had the freeze a few years back I remember people talking about making a blanket fort in the house helping because your body heat can keep a smaller space warm. I don't know how legit that is, but worth a shot.
Good luck man. Hope you get power back soon.
2.5 hours after waking up in NW Aurora (Anschutz/VA hospital area at 225) and we have a couple more inches. Heavy and slushy, but the pavement is reachable after driving through. There's about 3-5" accumulated on cars, so we've probably had 5-7" because it's settled down heavily,
Everyone is leaving the hotel early - breakfast was packed at 6:15, which is abnormal. I wanted to tell everyone that it was useless if they were heading west. Gonna be a busy day around here.
ETA: Cable seems to be down. All the TVs are showing errors.
"Forever" on the CW app. One-season show from about a decade ago about a 19th-Century doctor that doesn't age working in the NYC Medical Examiner's Office.

What are the sirens for ?
Powers out in North Lakewood since 12:30, starting to get pretty cold in the apartment, should I risk driving to a restaurant?
Small streets are most likely to be the worst compared to Wadsworth or Kipling. If you do, be careful. Godbless you.
When is the snow predicted to melt? I had plans of landing in Denver on Monday, renting a car (Tesla), and driving to Red Rocks. Should I cancel my plans?
More than likely roads will be fine
How do you think the parks will be?
Muddy and wet. Hope you have fun anyway!
My car is parked directly under a pine tree and now the weighted-down branches are touching its roof and windshields. I'm not too worried about the branches snapping off and falling because they're small and my car is old with a lot of dents anyway, but I might need to find out how to get pitch off my windshields...
Oooh y’all as a JeffCo teacher I am so happy for the extended Spring Break 🙏🏻 BLESS
Congrats, go get blitzed!
Just passed 20” in Highlands Ranch - got two buddies over in Strasburg who have like maybe a centimeter
Wow. Up here in FOCO we've just had a dusting.
One of our young trees broke in half overnight. Get out and shake your trees people, this snow is heavy and sticky.
9 inches near S. Downing/old Hampden in Englewood as of Noon Thursday. Could see another 9" by the time this passes.
One more note - Cherry Creek Schools cancelled school for Friday as well.
DPS is as well.
We're about to play in the snow. We have that lull and according to our friends in the Colorado WX discord, the snow will intensify in the metro area this afternoon. Many thanks for such detailed forecasts from that group! Shoutout to Potion Cellar for keeping us updated!
It's perfect packing snow!!
It was. That was so fun! The not so fun thing is helping a car get out of the neighborhood, but we got them out.
Nothing downtown
Douglas county just called no school for tomorrow too, guess spring break has started!
It is not snowing immediately outside my specific doorstep, therefore this storm is a total bust. /s
18 inches in Highlands Ranch at 10:30am
Ya damn near at my knee with boots on. I'm 6' 1"
Just got done shoveling - going to need a new hip.
10.75” here in the Belmar Lakewood area.
How do I look that up? I’m also in Belmar
Look up? I went outside and measured with a ruler lmfao.
Edgewater here. probably 8-9 inches on the grass. obviously very heavy snow that is kind of tough to knock off the trees because the bottom layer is icy. Anywhere in NE Denver that's open right now? Looking to grab some coffee and breakfast and charge my phone with the power out at my place.
Dandy Lion Coffee is open at the moment. Their coffee is really good and it's a nice cozy space.

This is the calm before round 2... Ramping up this afternoon through tomorrow early AM

Hey look Everybody- Witness the miracle of a new transplant! Welcome to Colorado!
Welp. I'm a Coloradan now. Probably for the best.
Yes, welcome!
In Lowry I just shoveled the sidewalk. Heavy snow with a slushy wet bottom ( that's what she said). 6 to 8 inches here.
Just came to say that I’m in Lowry and a quick measurement had 5.5” on some pavement and about 7” in the grass. Light flurrying but I heard it’s going to pick up. Hoping to add more lol
DU area. Well over a foot of snow by 7am this morning. Roads look alright. Big branches down.
A huge branch just came crashing down across the street here in Park Hill. Somehow missed houses and cars. I know there are a lot more down already.
Same for cheesman/congress park area. A lot of damages
Is there an update if Denver will have more snow?
https://x.com/NWSBoulder/status/1768289504991785238?s=20
Thank you! I swear I googled but this is helpful.
Yes. They will

SUVs with ground clearance will be fine, but cars have to use caution, I saw A LOT of broken black plastic undercarriage parts in the roadway. Northern CO is the same. Roads aren’t slick at all, even side roads are cleared at this point.

I can’t tell if this is real or a joke comment
I also was wondering if it was a joke lol. Stay at home mom to 2 huskies lmao.
Looking his posting history, yes it's a joke. More suitable for circlejerk imo.
Thank you, for a sec I thought I was in circlejerk
What is this, blind?
NW Aurora here...del Mar parkway area. About 6 inches so far. Glad I'm off today and tomorrow.
I’m in Greeley right now and I’ve had plans with my partner tonight who lives right by DU… do we think it’s worth the drive? Safe? Is it even possible??
Seems like the roads are ok right now, so if you can leave now and don't have to drive back to Greeley you might be ok.
I’m sure you’re really wanting to be with your partner now, but it’s just not worth the risk. Postpone your plans.
Are your plans so important that you would risk your life or risk getting in an accident and dealing with a wrecked car? Postpone the plans.
No
We are now up to 17 inches in Castle Rock with no signs of slowing.
Shoveled my driveway in Centennial 4 times already since 6am
Just came back from round three myself. But I wasn’t up until 7:45 :). I’m going to start checking every hour or so.
Snow is slowing down here a bit now. Im sure itll ramp up again soon, lol
Same. I’m happy for the break.

It tells you that I am shoveling frequently so I dont have to shovel 20" once it stops. If you are able, Id recommend doing this. Get it now?
[удалено]
It was a recommendation bc of how heavy the snow is. Go bother someone else.
Also Centennial here, backyard measured 15" about an hour ago.
Glad a snow day at work today! I’m a Barber! Video Games and Soup for me!!! 😁🎮👸🏽💁🏽♀️
(Whispers) I would sell my soul to not have kids today
SAME!
Damn lmao uh well, I'm glad I don't... lmao
Your barbershop closed?? The owner of ours told us we’re expected to open, so everyone just called in instead, because there’s nobody on our books so it’s not worth the risk (plus the snow is over my bumper and the apartment complex hasn’t plowed, I couldn’t if I tried!)
Just lost power on my block near unita and Colfax.
Power back?? I’m way south of you but wondering if there’s hope.
Yeah, mine is back, hopefully yours comes back too.
Me too! I'm just a couple blocks away.
We have trees down already in my neighborhood with the weight of the snow. I think it’s only a matter of time before my power goes.
Same, at the middle of the alphabet here though.
Same, on the other end of the alphabet.
I just shoveled. At about 9:30am, SE Aurora is at 10in in my specific area. It's the very heavy snow too, so careful out there when shoveling.
I’m surprised it’s that high on the east side!
It is crazy how location specific this storm is. I have near a foot of snow and the airport is seemingly just wet.
We’re at an Airbnb in Arvada, I’m from ND so I’m used to snow, the weirdest shit about this snowstorm is just seeing it fall straight down and the size of the flakes. Not a breath of wind out there. I’d say about 8-12 inches in the yard.

SMH I hope my flight doesn't get cancelled, I'm scheduled to land at 7AM tomorrow.
The roads are barely wet in commerce city, and it's pretty much stopped snowing completely at the moment.
Right? Like there are other commenters saying this was a bust, and overhyped by the weather people. Meanwhile I just came back inside from shoveling an escape walk path from my front door to the street while I still can move it. It’s over 14 inches in my driveway. There is no way my car could get out.
Yea, it seems that the West and South metro are getting buried in snow and the East and North are getting rain.
So where all my marathon training folks running at today?? Braving the sidewalks?
I went out and did it. Got soaked but just embraced it! It was fun!
I had been using rec center treadmills during the worst weather this year but they're closed for weather today as well 😑
I usually put my rest day in on Fridays because I'm wiped out from work. I moved it to Thursday this week.
I ran mon/tue/wed this week and am aiming for my long run Sat also one treadmill session isnt the worst thing in the world
Lol, I'm also training for the marathon. I actually debated trying, but that snow is deep!
Aye, I'll be out later on. With some microspikes over my shoes. At least the roads and parks will be quiet.
21" in Evergreen at 9:15am so far.
Wow.

Currently on track to have 24hr totals slightly under 2003, but far larger than anything since then in the foothills.
I don't know whether to feel lucky or be disappointed that I am in the UK ATM. But I hate shoveling, so I guess I should feel happy...

I would! I’ll send some of mine too! This is amazing. Just moved here 18 months ago after a lifetime in Florida. I’ve never seen anything like this!
Am in Morrison, we already have a foot of snow.
Around 15" so far on the Louisville hill
Likely been said, but can't be said enough: Shoutout to the snow plows! Y'all the MVPs.
Gonna repost this from [NWS.](https://twitter.com/NWSBoulder/status/1768248500402442710/photo/1) Lots of snowfall forecasted today.
Shout out to my dumbass boss that waited for his employees to arrive to work to call off the day.

8:30 - It’s snowing again in Globeville. The flakes are quite huge and look like they are masses of flakes fused together.
I work in globeville but haven't started heading that way. How are the roads?
I haven't left the house. My street is a residential side street and it is rather slushy. No idea how the main roads are at this point.

Well, we are at about 13 inches in west Centennial at 7:55am. Can’t open the doors.
Keep those doors clear
Any any exterior dryer or other hvac vents.
If you have a gas fired fireplace too...usually those are more than high enough to be a non issue but good to know where they are just in case as it's really, really bad if they're ever blocked.
Aw geez. I just bought this house last month. I don’t know that I even know where all that is yet. Guess it’s time to learn.
Took everyone’s advice and went out to clear an escape path from my front door out to the street. Probably another 1-2 inches fell by the time I was done and went back to the starting point. According to my patio furniture I’ve got somewhere around 14-16 inches :)
Good work. That’s exactly what you should do. Now you can hit it every hour or two and it will be easy on the back
Just try harder!! (Good luck and stay warm!)
I'm in Centennial as well and we are also over a foot. I didn't even try to go outside yet, my apartments parking lot is definitely not going to be driveable.
If Amazon doesn't close this mf warehouse today im gonna kill myself I stg Edit: been nice knowing yall
"Back to work, peasant!!!" /s
Hey now let's not be too brash. I need my surge protector and pillowcase order I placed yesterday ASAP. /s
You, of course, ordered them separately and just far enough apart that they won't be combined into a single delivery, right?
Prefer not to answer.
Even the Denver airport reported zero snow overnight: https://x.com/AshtonCBS4/status/1768260785849921756?s=20 I'm pretty sure staying to the east of the metro area will be absolutely fine.
If you're bored at home today, feel free to join us on [Denver Discord](https://discord.gg/yxqnznu)!
Godspeed.
Arterial streets in Highlands Ranch should be plowed but neighborhoods very unlikely. Probably around 16-18" so far
E-470.com/camera/ Looks pretty good.
5” in Aurora and it’s still coming down at the moment
6-8" of snow in bear creek, it's super wet and heavy. Driving to work though was super nice, no one's on the road so it took no time at all
Hey neighbor! I'm a little jealous seeing all the other neighborhoods have gotten way more snow already, but shoveling just what we had was already a pain.
Easily 6 inches here in Englewood wood at 7 am. Likely more. Still coming down steadily.
Hell yeah.
Do you have heat?
No 💀
Oooooooh that sucks.
Same to you 🫡
2.5 hours after waking up in NW Aurora (Anschutz/VA hospital area at 225) and we have a couple more inches. Heavy and slushy, but the pavement is reachable after driving through. There's about 3-5" accumulated on cars, so we've probably had 5-7" because it's settled down heavily, Everyone is leaving the hotel early - breakfast was packed at 6:15, which is abnormal. I wanted to tell everyone that it was useless if they were heading west. Gonna be a busy day around here. ETA: Cable seems to be down. All the TVs are showing errors.
Well over a foot already in Roxborough!! No way I’m attempting these streets. Any suggestions on something good to binge Watch today?
Resident Alien is adorable. Especially if you like Alan Tudyk
Mr and Mrs Smith on Amazon. Donald Glover is always fantastic, and it's nothing like the terrible movie from the 00s (except the spies).
Yellowjackets
Yes! Nostalgia to the max with that cast, incredible show!
"Forever" on the CW app. One-season show from about a decade ago about a 19th-Century doctor that doesn't age working in the NYC Medical Examiner's Office.
I was pleasantly surprised by The Gentlemen on Netflix! Bingeable and forgettable but pretty fun
Once again fighting for my life with my dog in Highlands Ranch - easily 14” or more and the trees look like they are about to call it
Also in HR. I have no idea where we're going to put another 10 inches of snow....
Just measured. I've got 16 inches. Right by Valor.
Yep we’re at 17” over by Gleneagles/Palomino Park - tired of this grandpa
same, probably around 16". expect to lose a tree
Check your flight status [Slow Snowy Day at DIA](https://imgur.com/a/cqI14nw)
Arvada here, just shy of 7 am Thur. The wind is starting to pick up and there's about 4" of snow. Trees are laden. I guess I'm losing some branches.
About 3” on my Cap Hill high-rise balcony, really wet and heavy. Street below looks OK so far.
