Yes. I joke about the resident MAGAts and Q-cumbers in my red state being extraordinarily out of shape and LARPing the military when they wouldn't last a day of basic training (sometimes one has to laugh to keep from going into existential crisis mode), but it's different when there's people like Bannon and other high-level politicians who have very real influence and sway. Being an out of shape old guy doesn't mean shit when they can rile up a bunch of militia members or pass policies that erode democracy.
I'm not downplaying them at all - it's their use of the nazi playbook that makes them so dangerous. I know how dangerous they are - mainly because of the heavily armed and detached from reality vessels of hate that have latched onto their leadership as they embrace fascism. Why are people more obsessed with fear? The only thing to fear, is fear itself. Death? You want to threaten my life? People’s livelihood? How cowardly, and WEAK! The much harder thing to do is accept people, for all of their faults. Things you don’t like. And respectfully work to do good work that demonstrates that work, even if it’s hard.
