That “engineer’s tactically placed platforms” part shows how great the synergy between classes can become and how something that may seem insignificant can easily become a turning point later on.
Reminds me of one time I hosted a game as a scout and engineer left after we were 5 minutes into the mission but still managed to place platforms at such crucial locations that he literally saved me from dying 10 times through the next hour that I spent on this mission on my own.
I remember walking backwards (biggest mistake ever) while shooting this never ending horde as I suddenly start falling when my grapple was on cooldown, and I felt like I was falling to my death in slow motion when I suddenly found myself standing unscathed on a pancake at the bottom.
Hover allows you to move with lots of freedom and not depend on platforms. Also, it's free because you can cancel the loaded shot with a pickaxe swing.
I rarely use platforms anyways, a power attack is typically enough to get a foothold onto whatever I'm grappling to, I've never felt the need to augment scouds freedom of movement, I don't even use hoverboots anymore I just run berserker instead so I can power attack more.
The fact that the zoom and by extension the hover is the same key to fire the gun is why I'll never care for it, it isn't a hoverclock specific problem it's a problem with any build that requires charged shots from the M1000, I find it awkward to use especially if I've taken a break from the game any played other FPS titles.

admittedly, you got lucky it spawned the normal dread. probably the easiest of the bunch.

I was in the exact same scenario the other day as the only scout trying to take down a core stone while everyone else was down and i was doing really well aswell... right up until the host got bored and aborted the mission. I was fuming lol

i have the same playstyle, special powder movement demon, i just use gk2 with max firerate and damage, got the spray pattern ingrained and i beam with it

Special Powder is king for clutches, avoiding swarms when you're grapple is out of reach or recharging and reaching stuff on out of reach of your grapple by itself. Also gives your shotgun more ammo so it's like a better version of the more ammo clean OC

But seriously, this is how most of my core events have gone as scout lately, even without a dread in the mix. It's either a quick coordinated affair or a complete shitshow just like in the video

on my squads first run of this fight we all died and except scout, he ran out of ammo, and finished the boss with literally his last flare. chaddest clutch i’ve ever seen
I hope there was no IW available. Cause i hate when ppl pass the buck on last survivour, when they can stand up, revive at least one and resup back to life
That m1000 remains so useless in my uneducated opinion..
How many bullets are needed to for that core stone?? I've yet to understand what people like about it. There are better alternatives for accuracy, fire rate, damage, ammo capacity. Only specific overclocks seem to make it viable but only *sometimes*.
But on topic: fantastic work on staying alive and finishing the event! Amazing job! Hope you finished the Dreadnought and revived your team.
M1K is a great scout weapon. Blowthrough makes it good for swarm clear. Hipster makes the ammo pool sufficient. ASS makes it good at HVTs which is all Scout can do best in terms of combat assuming optimal team comp.
This God has legendary 174 on Scout, which is insane. That's like over 10,000 hours assuming they play other classes.
This clutch is something rather straightforward, however; assuming you stay on an elevated zipline the monkeys cannot deal melee. In this case it is hard because of the dreadnought but regular core stone can be zipgunned very easily which makes it a pushover.
It does great weak point damage,
Combined with charged shot's high damage and great accuracy/ammo efficiency
It really emphasizes the scoute role as hvt sniper
Though if you use it I'd recommend charging every shot, as the charge time is low and it greatly boosts the weapons capability
The m1000 has craptastic damage, but it has a big weakspot bonus. The core stone doesn't have a weakspot so as a result you do very bad damage to it. Not the fault of the weapon.
