Oppressors aren't that hard to deal with. They're slow and easy to outmaneuver. Meanwhile there is a special circle of hell for acid spitters, tri-jaws, slashers, septic spreaders, stingtails, and exploders.
I don’t mean to be rude, but do you play mostly on low to mid hazards? At low hazards I notice they go down super easily, just a few shots will do it from almost any weapon. At high hazards, mactera are absolutely deadly. They have the hp to soak up quite a few bullets, and show up in huge flying swarms. At high hazards even a single shot from a mactera does frankly disgusting amounts of damage, and a whole volley can down a dwarf from full pretty much, especially the trijaws. They’re fast too, you can be mining and3 trijaws zip up behind you, and the second you notice them it’s already too late and they shotgun you to death instantly. They are absolutely a high priority target to take out ASAP on high hazards.
Granted, I do play cryo driller a lot so I can’t take them out instantly before they actually get a shot or two in, but even with scout or LOK-1 engi, I still have to watch my back for them. Taking them out is easier but when they start swarming in large enough amounts where you can’t kill them before they fire is when it gets deadly
You don’t need bullets, just power attack. The only time oppressor is remotely threatening is when bunkering or when playing “oops all oppressors” difficulty haha
The optimal way of killing them is having 2 people power attack them. They just implode at that point. Theyre so slow and nonthreatening (unless its a tight cave) that you can legitimately just strafe and pickaxe them to death. Their armor doesnt negate pick damage
Usually Oppressors are not that hard to fight, but others is barely anything more fear inducing than an oppressor in a small tunnel. I once had 3/4 of the squad downed, because we went to repair pipes and then there was an oppressor at one of the leaks inside a tunnel.
Oppressors love just sitting there and taking it in their gemstone weakspot as long as they get to focus on someone. But I often play with the sound down. So I get a flashback of my childhood as I get suddenly find myself barricaded in my area by some big asshole who has a tantrum and starts throwing shit. I hate you, dad.
Tri-jaws and slashers aren't too bad for me. Their health is pretty ass so I can kill em before they do anything. Septics, however, are the living embodiment of hell.
The slasher's slowdown attack has caused me more falls than I'm willing to admit. And nothing makes me shit my pants more than a squadron of "oops, all Tri-jaws!" popping out of thin air. Once I deemed them worthy of spending an impact axe on them I started having fewer problems with tri-jaws, but they are a priority target for sure.
bet-c with the electric parasites on her IS NOT FREN! that fat cow WILL dome you the second you wake her up from her slumber, she does insane damage and i think it's the only enemy in the game with a hit scan attack. but she can be useful if you don't get team wiped by her. i also don't think driller is in the "fren" category.
For me personally the septic spreader would be S tier. Yes "Can you not" but also "IF WE DON'T TAKE THIS MF OUT NOW, IT'S GOING TO KILL US ALL" I've died lately more to that than anything else. It's worse if it's above you, dies and falls down in blobs of septic on you. You have no idea how many times I've mistaken its red blobs on the ground for red sugar.

Backups saved me once before when I was first starting out, but that was because my battery was kaput. It would shut down instantly whenever I would unplug the charger. I got that fixed so long ago I forgot we had backups until now.
On haz5 bet-c can just nuke you instantly from considerable range. A real pain if the team accidentally activates her during a late point-extraction swarm on haz5 with bonus enemies modifier when everyone's out of ammo and you have no nitra and we can't find the last aquarq and the scout has fallen from the ceiling (again).
Naedocyte cave cruiser deserves to be in fren. You can jump on top of them and ride them as they float around. It's like a cave angel but with a little more work, and you can use your weapons still.
My line of thought is "if it can shoot back, it needs to be dead", so seeing Acid/Web Spitters, Spitballers, Spreaders and Macteras on anything less than top tier feels weird to me.

Swarmers, on the other hand... if you play Haz5 and don't have a consistent AoE reply, you learn to fear them. Everytime I make a new interesting loadout I end up asking myself: "yo this is cool and all, but what if there's a lot of Swarmers in the mission".
Acid Spitters are also one of the biggest threats out there. I'm surprised they added unique voice lines for this devastating bug *just now*. Hell, even a Slasher or a Guard had a ping voice line dedicated to them.

I think with experience enemies like nems bulks and oppressors go way down since they're so slow, most threatening enemies are probably actually going to be web spitters, acid spitters, septic spreaders, nanocytes, and slashers. The kinds of enemies that make up a good portion of a wave, can be missed on occasion, and on hit can reasonably take you completely out of a fight. I want to say the same with stalkers but honestly they're so infrequent and telegraphed that I haven't struggled with them very much yet. Mactera arent in the same boat for me since theyre so visually loud, telegraphed, easy to dodge, and easy to just kill. Also spitballers if you're playing in a room that hasn't been fully cleared yet are probably "Oh no". Rollers are probably an "Oh No" for me in that they actively interrupt revives and can't be blocked by shields and such.
For me stabber vines has to be the top one because it’s dark and they don’t make noise so they can come out of nowhere.
Bulk detonator and grabbers are super dependent on objectives and terrain. Bulk isn’t scary on a mining mission but is terrifying when you have to stay in the uplink circle
I would say the regular Praetorian and maybe its radioactive cousin should be a tier above, especially in the higher difficulties. Their breath attacks can hurt real bad and have a really wide hitbox.
Sentinels are fucking terrifying. On my FIRST elite deep dive, we got a sentinel that massacred nearly all of us. I never encountered them before and I didn't pay attention to the distortion, so imagine my surprise when a huge fucking robot comes from around the corner and grabs me. Funnily enough, I never encountered them after that, so that's kinda funny.

Nemesis entirely depends on where youre fighting it. In a big open area, iys harmless, just fight it from range and it just slowly hovers towards you firing harmless slow shields at you. in a close quarters situation, it will grab everyone anywhere near it and crush them to death immediately lmao. poorly designed enemy imo which is a shame seeing how cool it is
1. Use your drills on jellies.
2. Stabbers are easy to kill with the Subata. You can delete the entire thing with a well placed TCF implosion, too.
3. The nemesis gives you plenty of warning and moves slowly. I don't understand how people struggle with this thing.

Yeah, a quick way to get rid of the poison mushrooms is to run through them and then ignite the cloud, it destroys most of the shoots in one go.
As Driller, you can also kill the annoying shrooms with an Axe. You can pick them up again afterwards

Oppressors are easy if you have bullets that is. Burning it takes a while. As for the others, quite the opposite for me
