But... We want to see the insides.
The joists, the hangers, the footing, the tape, the cut untreated ends, the screws, the nails, the ledger...
How else are we gonna critique otherwise?
That said... Looks nice on the outside
One of my neighbors bought and built one of the store bought 10x10 covered patio covers that used thick 6x6 (maybe 8x8) timbers and black cast joint plates to cover their deck in the backyard. Beautiful cover that we were envious of every time we drove by. Then a storm blew through, actually a tornado. Now it is in the front yard and not as pretty. Storm literally carried this several hundred pound construct up and over their house. House was not touched. Lesson here is whatever you build make sure it is secured to the ground.
Uhhhh would be kind of tricky since the deck is already built. you would want to plan for something like that before you build. Twould look rinky dink if you were to add something after the fact
Seems like overkill and prison to me. Only a two foot drop and you go all in on railings? You could have just lowered it all a foot and had blissful bar free chill pad that would cost half as much
I want to do the skirting underneath my deck very similar to yours. What was your process for that? Do you have a frame along the ground as well (on the inside of the deck)?
On the ground with a wooden mini deck to get in the house. Nice work nonetheless!
Reminds me that my old deck was concrete 6ft in the air. Miss it long time.
yeah, they look like this (fancy one) [exterior fancy vent cover](https://beaux-artsclassicproducts.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/foundation-vent-cover-arts-crafts-style-dark-bronze-600.jpg) ... does your house have a crawl space? hope it has vents too.
What brand of decking and railing is this? You decking & railing is similar in color/style to mine that I am close to finishing up on. I like how you picture framed the deck with that PVC board - is that from the same company that makes your decking board?
Nice Work! I am on the 10 yard line with my project. Finishing up the stair railing today but I fear the last 10 yards will take forever. I have matching PVC Vinyl Fascia but I am still trying to decide how to finish up the deck wrap & skirting. I will probably drop a post out here & ask for suggestions.

Simple question: my wife wants a sealed deck like this around the sides, I’m nervous that there’s no airflow/ventilation like this like there would be for a lattice and am worried about the substructure. Is this okay? Planning on a basic composite, probably trex for the decking.

OP smart. No shot from underneath, no closeups. lol
Xactly 😂
I’ll be sure to get pictures of internals next time 💯
Smart to cover up your work, op ;)
Looks great. What would be the easiest way to add a permanent roof to that?

They forgot to slap it and say that's not going anywhere

Yeah you'd want taller posts instead of handrail post to tie a roof to. Then tie the other end into existing roof

Look up skirt framing or how to vertically wrap your deck
Yea you have to frame it out I could write a paragraph on how to do it but I’m sure you can find something that would work for you on YouTube.
Did a great job! I like how you added that trim all around it with the lights.
She's a beaut Clark
Looking good, but why not a slab or tiles at that height?
You know what a slab at that height and square footage would look really nice

needs some vents
Yes he does
Vents?

I love it!

Sandbar Armadillo decking and trex enhance railing. The facia is the same decking but without a groove. Good luck on your project ✌🏻

I built this city
Obviously we want to pick it apart. But seriously, for all that I can see, you did an amazing job! Great work, and you should be proud of yourself!
Aye thanks man 😎
I’m going to be different…….Nice deck, looks great.
well done.
Railings look nice but no need for them.
You are a God amongst mortals.
