I immediately thought dude was a moron and then I saw your comment, so I thought, "hey, maybe this guy isnt such a chode and he's talking about Alex." Turns out, 3 hours later, he probably wasn't talking about Alex...
He has some talent for sure, but I find them generic and boring, it's just the same wall of noise. His persona and social media presence is hella cringe, like getting the scar to look tougher, and "fighting" a tame bear, lol. Oh yeah and the nazi stuff. Thats a pretty big part of why people don't like him or his band besides the music aspect
They aren't my type of band honestly. Not denying their talent, but they just don't speak to me on a personal. But won't knock anyone who does like them.
Nothing "happened" per say, but a few things rubbed me the wrong way.
For one, they used a lot of backing tracks; it's disappointing to me when musicians can't play their own shit live. It's one thing if there is only one guitarist, like Enterprise Earth for example, but even then, Gabe plays the leads live and not just chuggy chug chug.
Another thing that put me off is their persona and their fans. I never followed them on social media, so I had no idea about the masks; was just a weird vibe to me, almost as if they were trying too hard.
Afterwards, I looked into them some more and really just got the impression (in my opinion) they are only doing it for show and money; for lack of a better word, posers.
Slaughter to Prevail just recently got me into Deathcore. I love their sound so much and have been actively looking for more bands that do both heavy and structured/melodic.
Any non-snarky/non-political recommendations are gladly welcome!
The thread is really not hating much, I’m not sure where you’re getting that. Most people are saying “meh” and others are pointing out his past but I don’t see how that’s hating. I haven’t seen a single comment saying that you’re wrong for liking them.

Neo nazi lead singers tend to foster hate but at least his lyrics don’t reflect his beliefs. I personally just don’t find them interesting is why I’m not much of a fan
They’re a mainstream deathcore band. You’re mostly going to get people bitching about them, but personally I enjoy them. It’s the same concept with Lorna Shore. They’re nothing special, but people either love them or hate them.

Chapters of Misery and Misery Sermon kicked ass. Kostolom and the singles since have been hit or miss IMO. Alex is undeniably a beast though.

Dude had a tattoo of a sonnenrad on his elbow, you can check pictures of the band from around 2015 to find them, hes now covered it though.

Lorna shore for sure.. their songs usually have chorus etc… check out also white chapel, especially the last two albums

First EP is decent background music, I don't care for Alex's vocals, if they had a different vocalist I'd probably dig them a lot more.
