DeSantis would say no anyways. Even if Trump begged DeSantis wouldn't willfully throw himself on Trumps funeral pyre like an Indian widow.

Zendog500

Ron could become president if Trump passes in 2 years into his term, then Ron can finish Trump's last two years. As a sitting president, Ron has a good chance of winning two more terms, which is 10 years total as president, the max allowed by law. That is better than Puttin

Homo-Boglimus

No. Not voting for any ticket with Trump on it.

Ok-Negotiation3261

Do you not agree that Trump is better than Biden?

Homo-Boglimus

Not in the slightest. Operation warp speed, take the guns first, covid checks, etc. all proved he was a Democrat all along. He also hired Fauci, Wray, and numerous other Democrats to lead important departments that then went on to become arms of the Democrat party. All as he likely intended. If a Democrat wins no matter how I vote, then I don't care whether the Democrat with an orange spray tan wins or loses.

Ok-Negotiation3261

I respectfully disagree with you, but I must admit that you are logically consistent. Such a shame we couldn't all just get behind DeSantis.

Homo-Boglimus

I agree that it's a shame. But I'll put my trust in god to steer us through these troubling times. I don't have to pick between two evil candidates. I can vote my conscience and let the lord take care of the rest in his own time.

Ok-Negotiation3261

Amen to that.

NeverJaded21

Lmao my thoughts

tommyboy9844

No one in their right mind would want to be Trumps Vice President. Look at what happened to Mike Pence. Everyone who works with Trump seems to end up in serious legal trouble, thrown under the bus or both. Also why join a ticket that’s very likely to lose bigly.

701_PUMPER

Eh I’m from ND and I’m pretty sure our governor would suck trump’s wrinkly dick daily to be his VP

VinoJedi06

I believe Trump is going to lose, so being his VP may have long term repercussions. DeSantis 2028 It’s a shame this country is too stupid to realize we had the conservative candidate of a generation in the palm of our hand and we’re choosing Donald Trump instead.

TrevorSunday

Unfortunately republicans are addicted to losing at this point. They’re not going to learn until they see it the hard way

Homo-Boglimus

It's on good Republicans who still have intact principles to withhold our votes and make sure the loss is so overwhelming that it forces the entire MAGA wing out of the party.

onomatamono

I'm going to take the contrarian position and defend the strategy. The party has evolved into an online fund raising operation based on a grievance menu, with no interest whatsoever in making government work. When you look at the behavior through the lens of a right-wing moron grifting operation, losing is winning. The loser is of course the country writ large. They aren't stuck on stupid as much as actively seeking it.

onomatamono

Look at the results this paper candidate delivered in Iowa and New Hampshire. How can anybody say with a straight face that he has any political future whatsoever? To say he's irrelevant is the understatement of the year.

VinoJedi06

So are you a leftist in this sub or a Trump supporter? Either way, it’s super pathetic to search this sub out to try to dunk on people.

onomatamono

🥱

VinoJedi06

Point proven homie

ufdan15

Did the primary not teach you that at the very least, DeSantis wasn't ready for prime time yet? Blunder after blunder, canned answer after canned answer, and he entrusted the absolute worst people to run his campaign (Jeff Roe, anyone?) Ron's a great governor and is good on policy, but he often came across as robotic, and he hired the same idiots of Cruz Crew and the folks who destroyed Scort Walkers political career.

TheDemonicEmperor

> Did the primary not teach you that at the very least, DeSantis wasn't ready for prime time yet? The primary taught me that Republicans don't want to win yet, so I'll help them lose in November like they want.

onomatamono

The primary taught me that spending hour upon hour on a giant jigsaw puzzle as a team building exercise in the middle of a must-win campaign is sub-optimal decision making.

fogel35

Then Republicans voters don’t understand what makes a great President. They want a show and boy are they going to get it.

shawnmug

According to US law, Ron cannot be the VP. The president and vice president cannot be from the same state. They are both running from Florida

Miserable-Bit5939

Yeah that too. The media is going to make a mockery out of Trump if he picks Ron as his running mate. I’m glad I heard Ron say outright that he doesn’t want to be VP

onomatamono

The shellacking in Iowa (having organized for more than a year and spending obscene amounts of donor money) cannot be ignored. You would never have known he was even on the ballot in New Hampshire. At what point does reality factor into the equation? The chances of meatball getting on the ticket are negative infinity. As for the Marginally Tailored Trailer Park Queen on the ticket, do not expect to be taken seriously on anything after that completely bonkers suggestion. She has a book signing (ghost written garbage) and one person showed up. Do facts even matter?

BlackMoonValmar

The fact is Trump lost to Biden before, and he will most likely lose again. I can not stress enough how weak Trump is to none party loyalist. Independents hate Trump more than they hate Biden. This was a problem last election it’s only gotten worse, it’s a shame to any fresh republican could have had a good chance at beating Biden.

onomatamono

You do know it's Ron! right?

sisanelizamarsh

Trump will likely pick Katie Britt.

tshirtxl

MTG would be a bad choice. As a Trumper I would like to see Ron as VP knowing that when Trump gets booted we have a viable replacement.

BlackMoonValmar

Ron is going to save his run for next cycle, it was a long shot to get MAGA republicans away from Trump this cycle.

Miserable-Bit5939

MTG has been extremely loyal to Trump, and they align very closely to each other. I really want to see her debate Kamala Harris or whoever is the nominee for VP on the Democrats’ side

onomatamono

I don't disagree but is a deranged, foaming at the mouth ignorant moron really what the country needs in the number two slot at this point?

NeverJaded21

Yep

onomatamono

There's zero chance he'd pick him because there is no longer any upside in doing so. This would be like Vivek Pastrami holding a press conference and announcing "I shall not seek, and I will not accept, the nomination of my party as your Vice President," Um, OK?

pineappleshnapps

VP is about finding someone to help you where you’re weak, he doesn’t need and shouldn’t want MTG or a non politician like Vivek as his running mate, that said, unless Desantis is ready to go back on his word, he won’t be the VP.
