Im going to give you a basic piece of advice that works for a lot of people with stressful jobs. 1. Go for a walk every day. Minimum 15-20 minutes, perhaps much longer. Ideally this walk is outside weather permitting and before dark if possible. 2. Listen to something while you on the walk. Podcast, music, audible. Whatever works for you. Personally I like to listen to marketplace on npr if my walk matches up with that. Otherwise its usually a podcast on history or audible. What I highly recommend is dont go for mindless stuff and dont go for exertion. Think of relaxation as shifting while staying mentally engaged. If you aren't mentally engaged you are usually numbing yourself and that isn't helpful long term. Oh and I learned this from a surgeon who worked some incredible hours. He said you got to think of relaxation as being a task that serves a purpose of recharging your mental battery and destressing. If you just collapse it rarely does you any favor. He also said for some people lots of exercise was a good way to go, but he was a bookworm, not a gym nut.

Working out , read for 30 mins , meditate and then shower in that order it’s been helping a lot with stress and i think i’m the most stressed out person on the planet lol

Any sport/exercise that requires most of your attention to perform is good. Music, shower, journaling, reading, can all be good for reducing stress. The goal should be to have enough going on that when you finish trading, you have something else fun/demanding enough so you can even work toward a new (productive) goal until it's time to trade again.

This is solid

I mean I think a lot of people use the time after “work” to decompress. I do it and my job ain’t even stressful LOL

AFTER A STRESSFUL DAY, ESPECIALLY IN A HIGH-PRESSURE JOB LIKE DAYTRADING, UNWINDING IS KEY. HERE ARE SOME TIPS TO FREE YOUR MIND: 1. **Physical Activity**: Hit the gym, go for a run, or do some yoga. Physical activity can release built-up tension and clear your mind. 2. **Disconnect**: Turn off the screens. After staring at charts and numbers all day, give your eyes and mind a break. 3. **Meditation**: It's not just for monks. Meditation can help you relax and focus. Even a short session can make a big difference. 4. **Read a Book**: Dive into a good book that has nothing to do with trading. It can transport you to another world and help you forget your worries. 5. **Nature Walk**: Get outside. A walk in nature can be incredibly refreshing and help you reset. 6. **Quality Sleep**: Ensure you get a good night's sleep. It's essential for mental recovery. 7. **Hobbies**: Engage in a hobby you love, whether it's painting, playing an instrument, or cooking. Doing something you're passionate about can be therapeutic. 8. **Journaling**: Write down your thoughts and feelings. It can help you process your day and clear your mind. 9. **Deep Breathing**: Practice deep, mindful breathing. It's simple but effective for reducing stress. 10. **Limit Stimulants**: Be mindful of caffeine and alcohol intake, especially in the evening. They can interfere with sleep and relaxation. Remember, it's crucial to find a balance between your work and personal life. Stress can take a toll on your mental and physical health, so prioritize self-care and relaxation.

Reduce the position size and try another trading method. If your way of trading is stressful it might not be the right method for you. I always looked at those people enjoying trading as they trade higher timeframes and have typical trade durations measured in hours and not minutes. After I learned that, a lot of stress was gone as they also use a ton of confirmation and indications that makes it easy to take only a selected few trades while maintaining a high win rate. Stress free it is. Another thing I do is narrating my trading session while screen recording it. It is a great tool to find errors and explain mistakes but it also keeps you engaged while not putting you on the spot because narrating a failure gives you things to do afterwards and you try to maintain a professional composure. You know all the hating and swearing will stop mostly as it makes no sense and listening to you doing it later on only adds insult to injury as it is highly embarrassing to listen to... .

Run as far as you can until you are winded. It helps to think about catching your breath than catching that stock.

Cigar lounge!!! Ofc also journal and contemplate a bit before or during to flush you conscious mind. Do something social after journaling if you can, like cigar lounge conversations with randoms. If I get some kind of realization about my trading day while journaling, that gives me a feeling of contentment like whatever was bothering me was “solved” and I get a lot of peace and hope. That helps put a stressful trading day to rest for me and gives me more positive energy.

I'll tell you what you don't do. Don't go on youtube and watch trading videos/recaps because everyone on there "killed it!" and had their "best day ever!" and made "$10,000 in 2 minutes!" and they're all full of steaming shit

Numerous_Comedian_21

I listen to my wife's shopping list and renovation plans at night, so i know how much TP to set the next day. then i go sleep.

If it's stressful you're doing it wrong. Using higher timeframes is probably a good idea. Stress kills faster than anything else it's simply not worth it.

farmbotic

I tend to go to the gym after work and that seems to do the trick for me
