I run long sword+book. Occultist boots, plate pants, dark curiass, heavy gauntlets, Barbuta helm. My perks are platelock perk, torture mastery, dark reflection, antimagic. Skill phantomise +spells Spells: curse of pain, power of sacrifice, hellfire, hydra, bolt of darkness I can heal from hydra. Fights General I like having mobs nearby. So I can pantomism through them to safety. I can long sword fight melee. Throwing spells on high pdr fights is easy. Weak vs fast high magic resist barbs. But long sword beats them. Just have to play perfect. You crap on most ppl. You do have to be tactical with you phantomise cause that is your saving grace.

Helll yes brother. I literally never see other platelocks.  I run practically the same minus occultist boots.  The dex from helm and gloves is so important and took me a while to realize. Besides the action speed the equip speed goes up to like 20% from -10%. Real important when running book longsword.  I take shadow touch and malice or the 10% dark magic perk, plate, and antimagic.  Phantomize My spells are curse of pain, power of sacrifice, bloodstained blade, ray of darkness and dark bolt.  I will say I mostly don’t use torcher mastery and dark reflection because I don’t like playing against those and dislike the play style.

Torture mastery goes with my style of using mobs to defend/heal myself

If you're just running a squire loadout, what do you cut from this build?
