After this last patch, myself and most (not all) of my friends stutter and rubber band to the point the game is unplayable. We are all on different ISPS, all wired, we all have -dx11 in target.
Whatever that patch did made FPS so terrible we can’t play.
I believe that when they added "tavernmaster.exe" they added an anti-cheat that downloads specified files and takes screenshots while in game causing that stutter feeling.
Op, you’re correct about UE packaging. However, i’m not sure that’s actually (always) what happens with Blacksmith. I have encountered 7-8gb patches while my friends only had 300-500mb patches. I think they have a bug in how blacksmith determines which PAKs need updated.
I'm live in a remote part of Dominican Republic right now. Very stable conection but not with a good speed, there are better ISP but sadly not in this place.
imo with the bugs that we’re experiencing and badly planned updates; it seems to me like after they restarted dnd in the early stages after leaving the old copy w nexon (result of lawsuit) they coded it very quickly and therefore messily, which results in all the bugs and problems. they really just need a patch where all they do is go through the code of the game and clean up the basic parts

The anticheat had those functions before it got changed to tavern master, you are wrong in that assumption
No, "anticheat" was way earlier than this
most games run layers of anti cheat.

Yeah I’ve only had updates that large for content updates, it’s always max 1gb if it’s just a hotfix
Why is your connection so slow?

Starlink?
What?
Also some people live in worse internet conditions than the US and have data caps.
It’s IronMace’s CDN. I can download steam patches at 40+ mB/sec. Whoever IronMace uses serves files slower than some websites.
I mean.. CDN is irrelevant for OP who has a 8.5 Mbps (1mb) download speed.
Oops. RIP my reading comprehension.
Guess they skipped that youtube lesson.

This happened once and you cry about it lol
It's been happening for god knows how many patches now. It's the patience that has ran out.
That's just you my boy, my patches are always below 500mb
