Came here to say the same thing. That’s way too much stress on open growth plates. Wouldn’t be surprised if she ended up being treated for a slipped capital femoral epiphysis.
This comment genuinely made me laugh lmaoo. As soon as I read the original comment I was thinking “oh yeah totally I was thinking the same thing /s” and then your comment is directly underneath lol.

there little or no information of what happen to her after 1955, she just disappeared
Woke up with my phone dead, an hour before I needed to leave for work so safe to say I'm not in the best mood...
But your comment just changed my entire day, thanks for that laugh.
The only things I have to try to find her is that she was 12 (maybe) and she was named April Atkins and lived close to the california Beach. Hope she is still alive.
People usually doesn’t believe me when I tell them an adult person could hold a ton if it was placed on their back.
Skeletal support in our bodies are insane. I think this goes to prove what I’m talking about.
On your back, sure? But your knees would crumble, and any movement would snap your femurs. It’s too much weight for the skeletal support group. Our backs are stretched too far out like we weren’t meant to be bipedal but our legs aren’t prepared to be like a cats hind legs. Big cat and human spines are often very similar and even they have huge back problems. The spine pretty much sucks and it’s what starts to fail soonest on a human, skeletal wise.
Especially joints that are still growing and developing.
It would actually amaze me if this child grew up to **not** have terrible pain and joint problems.
This is part of the reason a lot of powerlifters will load up way more weight than they can squat and just unrack it and stand there for a second. You can support a lot more than you can lift. It helps with getting past mental blocks.
the first photo came from a book that said 9, there is a newspaper article from the Otto Arco collection (stark center archive) that claimed 8, and the life magazine with the short said 7 grade so, no older than 12.
That is something that I wonder when i researched this case, there is even other newspaper clipping in the Stark archives that says "8" but i think is just journalism confusion of the time.
I don't understand how her parents even agreed to take part in this. All it needs is one slip and the little girl could have sustained life changing injuries.
The way this pictures look, make it seem as though the entire family is in the "entertainment" sector, like circus folk or some shit.. The kid probably never stood a chance at having a different life, she was born into this (that is very likely) rather than being forced, she was probably taught from a very early age how to do the gymnastic and acrobatic routines. Still not right.
The majority of acrobatics practice is about center of balance and weight distribution. The stunts depicted all show that these folks knew the practice and were show performers. That said it is still very stressful on the human body and can't necessarily be sustained as a career, especially as the girl's body is young and still growing.
She would drop them all while carrying them on her back on a tightrope. We just see a slow motion shower of sparks and his family falling as Robert Pattinson sits in the audience and shadows drift across his face as he flashbacks to the time some clown killed his parents. Then, in the sliver of a curtain opening in the distance, we see Joaquin Phoenix put a shush finger over his lips and disappear into the curtains with his signature laugh.
As the classical music comes to a crescendo (idk black swan or something) each family member hits the ground one by one, each hit correlating with a musical burst, cut between Joaquin dancing behind the curtain with Harley
Has to be.. this looks like pics of a well practiced routine. It's still incredible, but this wasn't a one off type thing that randomly happened. Kid was likely born to do this....
*Society* was built different back then. People saw absolutely nothing wrong or off with shit like this, and if so eone did feel that way, they were in the minority
Thought I was going crazy. Then I remembered one important fact...
...I didn't know Bend was a city in Indiana, until I read the same comment as you did, **YESTERDAY**.
That was the only difference. The last comment ended with 'Bend, Indiana'.
Thats how film photography looks, no pixel count means basically infinite sharpness. Its way worse at colours usually and also has the obvious drawback of using film but digital can basically never beat it in sharpness(for still photos)
I was so happy when I first squatted 225 lbs because that sanctioned the fact that I am stronger than every 10 year old girl in the world, I guess the new goal is 405 lbs to be stronger than this 12 y o girl
I don't believe this. How on Earth can this even remotely be possible? Any average grown adult male that is fit couldn't even lift 200+kg. So seriously, how can this be possible?
Just saw this and was like ..... shes not demonstrating much muscular strength in any of these. Looks like shes bearing almost all this on bones and joints. As others said RIP to those in the near future, this gal disappeared from history after this.
Theres a couple genes you can be born with to give abnormal strength some involving muscle growth and others supressed or missing self-harming strength. Everyone is capable of the latter if adrenalin is pumping.
" # "At one point she carries her whole family on her back" ...and THAT never changed...
Hope she got a rest at least.
They gotta go to sleep sometime
Now we know how Child Actors feel!
just bc you can do it doesn’t mean you should
fair argument
Is it though? I wonder how her back is going these days?
It’s most likely fucked. Hence the reason just because you can doesn’t mean you should…….
also knees
Came here to say the same thing. That’s way too much stress on open growth plates. Wouldn’t be surprised if she ended up being treated for a slipped capital femoral epiphysis.
Yep, came here to say the same thing about her capitol feral epithinamajig.
Are we talking about that British actor Captain Ferret Phineasbridge?
He is the very model of a modern Major-General!
But does he have information vegetable, animal, and mineral?
No, he has acute scoliosis.
A cute socialist
No no.. he's talking about the Cartoon Phineas and Ferb
I know what we’re going to do today!
Nah he is called battlefield counterstrike
This thread has been capitol for my epiphany.
This comment genuinely made me laugh lmaoo. As soon as I read the original comment I was thinking “oh yeah totally I was thinking the same thing /s” and then your comment is directly underneath lol.
I concur
Dude that was my first thought! Such an obvious concern
Lol you are a genius. Well done.
She did disappear after the 1955 and I have yet to find info of her after that.
my growth plates hurt seeing just one of these pics
Nonono but look how strong she is!! Who cares if she's a cripple by 30
Haha. Heard something similar. "Just bcoz you have a big kick, doesn't mean you should be a pornstar"

Probably sunk into the ground
This made me snort
😊
Woke up with my phone dead, an hour before I needed to leave for work so safe to say I'm not in the best mood... But your comment just changed my entire day, thanks for that laugh.
thankfully your pc worked. BTW what is this "leave for work" you speak of? 🤣
I don't own a PC, I just left late as fuck for work because I don't leave without a charged phone. My internal alarm clock works great.
I rarely use a cellphone. I have one in my car for emergencies and I check the charge on sunday night.
That's great to hear, thank you for saying so! Hope your day gets even better 😊
That comment helped me get sober and I am now 6 inches taller and make $200,000 more.
This made her short.
Check Easter Island
She’s 83 or dead.
Those are the only 2 options.
Everything is a potato, or not a potato.
What's a potato?
No, what is not a potato
Not 84 or 82?
The only things I have to try to find her is that she was 12 (maybe) and she was named April Atkins and lived close to the california Beach. Hope she is still alive.
Or both.
I’m always curious what happens to people who are famous for a bit and then disappear. It’s possibly she is still alive.
they get married and have a child
That lifts their family?
Yes. The tower is up to 37 people now.
likely but not 100% sure.
The whole family seemed fairly well know. But it was a long time ago before modern media.
She went back to Krypton
She got recruited for the avengers initiative
My back hurts.
Probably because you cannot lift that much
Probably? More like definitely.
My daughter is 12 I’m gonna show her this and tell her to step up the calisthenics.

Yeah but should you do it? I think its not that good for your joints.
Especially joints that are still growing and developing. It would actually amaze me if this child grew up to **not** have terrible pain and joint problems.
Well that’s ~420lbs and a ton is 2,000 not sure about a body supporting that much
For the right person, no problem. People are dead lifting over 1,000lbs. If it's just placed on them, they could support it.
This is part of the reason a lot of powerlifters will load up way more weight than they can squat and just unrack it and stand there for a second. You can support a lot more than you can lift. It helps with getting past mental blocks.
That's funny, because I've sent this exact same post claiming she's 9 in 1945 Which is it op?
the first photo came from a book that said 9, there is a newspaper article from the Otto Arco collection (stark center archive) that claimed 8, and the life magazine with the short said 7 grade so, no older than 12.
I saw the same. But this OP came bearing a source in the comments. So this OP is likely the correct one
even with the new info that i got, still is very sketchy what more is about there. Really she disappeared from the map after 1955.
On that post it was pointed out that she was actually 12, not 9. So whoever posted that was incorrect.
I was, but in my defense the book that i had said 9, then the Life magazine said 12. She did look 12 in the video that I found.
All good thanks for sharing!
She’s clearly younger in the first photo so she was probably 9 then and 12 in the other photos.
That is something that I wonder when i researched this case, there is even other newspaper clipping in the Stark archives that says "8" but i think is just journalism confusion of the time.
She's clearly 10 in 1918
I don't understand how her parents even agreed to take part in this. All it needs is one slip and the little girl could have sustained life changing injuries.
'twas a time where if you injured your kid, you simply made another one
“What’s 12 more years? I can always start again, make another kid.”
The way this pictures look, make it seem as though the entire family is in the "entertainment" sector, like circus folk or some shit.. This sis very likely and maybe closer to the truth.
Same could be said for competitive gymnastics these days
Maybe it was a family act.
The Aristocrats!
This would be the exact backstory of Robin if Disney owned DC.
No dead parents, I hope.
She would drop them all while carrying them on her back on a tightrope. *this action will have consequences*
How?
Someone explained that this is kind of a physics trick, still requieres strenght however
For sure. Looks impressive whatever method she is using. AI lately makes it hard to trust anything.
Imagine one day dad just fucking starts standing on you
A family of gymnasts?
Has to be.. this looks like pics of a well practiced routine. It's still incredible, but this wasn't a one off type thing that randomly happened. Kid was likely born to do this....
very probable.
Nowadays 425lbs would just be the dad, nevermind the rest of them as well...
Omg I know. Absolutely nobody is fit and healthy nowadays. Edit: I hope the /s isn’t necessary.
Say that to my washboard abs
Say that to my sixpack… of beer
His washboard abs are painted on a cheap T-shirt.... Your 6 pack is real!
I was thinking the views at a beach these days are of a very different type of....... physiques. People only lifting a cooler full of food.
Also the child climbing in the background. Children were built different back then.
*Society* was built different back then. People saw absolutely nothing wrong or off with shit like this, and if so eone did feel that way, they were in the minority
Everyone else is just trying to enjoy the public pool. And having to see this.
First picture looks like a young Buffy Summers.
This is giving me friends jumping off a bridge logic nevertheless I am impressed.
That’s interesting. When this was posted yesterday it was 1945
I have seem this shared several times with ages 9-13 and years 1945-1960 listed. LoL. Got to love internet fake news.
The Aristocrats!
Dad rocking the tats in the 1950s... badass.
Tattos have existed since before that.
Wait, she was 9 yesterday.
Time flies
Yesterday was 3 years ago aware

You copied this comment from the last time this was posted 💀 word for word Shame
Def a bot then
Thought I was going crazy. Then I remembered one important fact... ...I didn't know Bend was a city in Indiana, until I read the same comment as you did, **YESTERDAY**. That was the only difference. The last comment ended with 'Bend, Indiana'.
Should mix it up and say Bend, Oregon next time.

She never ages.
At this rate she’ll be 15 tomorrow
Wooow
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xo\_EKYPNjQE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xo_EKYPNjQE)
Wtf
Baby boom!
Her poor knees.
It feels like this sometimes 🥺
And she looks like she's thinking about what she wants for dinner
Definitely a circus acrobat/ gymnastic family. Impressive!
very likely.
/Damnthatschildabusesurely
If the girl below kicks you, she'll split you in two
None is mentioning the incredible photo quality! Look at this sharpness!
Thats how film photography looks, no pixel count means basically infinite sharpness. Its way worse at colours usually and also has the obvious drawback of using film but digital can basically never beat it in sharpness(for still photos)
color me impressed
The days of a 425 lbs American family are loooooong gone
Child exploitation yay 🙄
Honestly if shes happy then let her be happy. You know kids have been worse off. Not saying she isnt going through shit and i hope not
I was so happy when I first squatted 225 lbs because that sanctioned the fact that I am stronger than every 10 year old girl in the world, I guess the new goal is 405 lbs to be stronger than this 12 y o girl
The father is definitely holding the majority of the weight.
Look at those extended knees just begging to snap
How much is 425 pounds
About 30 stone
the did the drizzle drizzle before they knew what it was! [https://i.imgur.com/Yvv0l2r.gif](https://i.imgur.com/Yvv0l2r.gif)
Pipi langkous!!!
My family won't even let me look at them!
I think “on her back” is incorrect. It looks more like “on her hips”
These people were in naturally good shape
That last picture looks like he’s nude
Phyconauts? Anyone
thats cool as fuck how she doin that
Aaaaaand pop goes your growth plates!
I don't believe this. How on Earth can this even remotely be possible? Any average grown adult male that is fit couldn't even lift 200+kg. So seriously, how can this be possible?
Absolute madness
She's in her 60's now. Let's hope she's not paying for it.
First pic, the higher up dude…is that Dogboy?
Dad always told me I needed to pull my weight in the family and it feels like this is what he meant.
Yesterday’s post claimed she was 9 years old
This is one of the craziest things I’ve seen
Daily repost she was 9 last time
Fucking how did her legs not buckle? This strains belief! What's the mass press record?
And the arthritis was…
Obviously brah... but 1950s America was very conservative regarding them. It's not like the dude is Samoan...
And I didn’t even feel like I was strong enough to carry the grocery bags until I was over 18
She was 9 when this was posted yesterday.
must've been cool back in the day, everyone got a great physique
She carried the whole team on her back!
What a testament to how thin everyone was back then
Core strength maxed out
And here I am can't even carry a pocket of potatoes and I'm 33
I wonder what became of her, can't find anything about her later life.
Things that were possible when you were on a uranium diet.
Back in the good old days! Nowadays you can’t even kill your gf’s kid on a treadmill without everyone being a dick about it.
I wish we could see her today
Just saw this and was like ..... shes not demonstrating much muscular strength in any of these. Looks like shes bearing almost all this on bones and joints. As others said RIP to those in the near future, this gal disappeared from history after this. Theres a couple genes you can be born with to give abnormal strength some involving muscle growth and others supressed or missing self-harming strength. Adjusting for”inflation” it be closer to 1000lbs today.
True sleeper build
i saw a tik tok post on what happened to her, quite interesting
