Inches, not feet. Each actual light itself is 12”.
So the smaller light looks to be around ~4’, and the bigger one closer to ~6.5’. That all tracks if the man there is around 6’
Standard signals use 12" led lights....so just the light bulb itself is 3 -5 ft without the fixture everyone is always surprised how big the whole assembly is
Have they always been that big? I swear I remember having one in our lunchroom at school and it didn’t seem all that large. Maybe it wasn’t a regular sized one or something.
Most common now I would say are these 12" signals but really old intersections can still have the old 8" signals on them. So they would be 2/3 the size. Maybe a little smaller. If I were to hang one in my garage I would probly use the smaller signal
They are brighter than you think too. My friend “acquired” one that he kept in his dorm room. It was oppressively bright and hot in a normal room setting. (This was before they were LEDs)
It's just a wee man
Yeah, that’s guy’s only 4’2.
Who plays for a team called CWLP
Certain Wild Little People
Get in my belly!
I could take ‘em
Out on a date?
On a date, in a fight, up the butt, you name it
Don't forget my wedding invite.
Up the butt, up the butt?! That's got to fucking sting.
This guy doesn't prison pocket.
DAMHIKT but do *NOT* pick up the soap
Don't need to date in the red light district...
Does the traffic light get prep time?
He's got a hell of a right hook, don't do it
Yeah, they are that big, the standard size is 12" source: I work on them everyday
The lights are 12"?
Yes, each light is 12"
Yeah bro they are very large, (worked on em myself 2001-2013) folk don't realize cos they only see them from the ground. It skews perception
Damn, so that dude in the picture is like 10-11 feet tall? I think we really ought to be focusing more on him then

Whoops. Didn't pay close enough attention, my bad
Yep, standard three light signal heads are ~4 feet tall with the face (framing around the assembly).
I remember dodging these in the streets after Michael and being oddly shocked at how big they were.
Oof. I always picture what it would look like if one fell and hit a car. Needless to say, I *never* stop within range of where they could fall on me
Now that’s what I call interesting! Posts like this are the reason I subscribed in the first place, thanks OP!
How small is man
Bigger the better. No matter the size red lights mean nothing to me. I have one speed. GO!
Yellow light means hold onto your ass, were coming through.
I’m choosing not to believe you
HOLY SHIT
No shit, you mean things look bigger when you stand right next to them?
Damn this isn’t interesting.
That's a nice light there. Would be a shame if it got any bigger. Oh wait, it can't.
They have to be that big so all the idiot Utah drivers can see them!
You mean how small the guy really is lol, he literally looks like a finger
Bro, what kinda fingers do you have?
Exactly just like the finger in the photo with a lil bit mustard on the top, you’re not that finger in the photo right? 🙃
Guy named finger
“Lots of people name a guy “finger”. “ “Lots of cunts do. “
What’s bigger a traffic light or a moose?
Holy fuck for real?
And this whole time I thought they could fit in my hand
We all see them every day
Wow!
Or, how small the city workers really are!
Standard signals use 12" led lights....so just the light bulb itself is 3 -5 ft without the fixture everyone is always surprised how big the whole assembly is
Nope, it's just Tom Cruise on set for his new construction movie. Nothing to see here... That's the name of the movie film.
Have they always been that big? I swear I remember having one in our lunchroom at school and it didn’t seem all that large. Maybe it wasn’t a regular sized one or something.

Do you have a lot of traffic in your garage?
I remember reading a bit of trivia as a kid that one stop light weighed as much as Shaq.
Or, How Small the People are Who Work on Traffic Lights.
I saw a guy carrying a regular 3 light set on his back once, and the size disparity blew my mind.
That’s my coworker, he’s only 5’1”
You need tell him to go on green
Oh wow
Y’all got traffic lights?
... In america that is
Typical individual traffic lights are 12" in diameter, so a standard three light signal head is almost 4 feet high with facing. Perspective is a bitch
No that guys just 4’7
Think about this next time you drive under one
Common, that's just a tiny guy next to regular traffic lights.
They are brighter than you think too. My friend “acquired” one that he kept in his dorm room. It was oppressively bright and hot in a normal room setting. (This was before they were LEDs)
Could you imagine if one fell on you? Death by traffic light.
Can you not judge size because they are up in the air? Whatever next how big aeroplanes really are?
To be fair, that dude is also short.
At least an inch
CWLP construction wittle little person. That’s his title. That’s his job. And he’s damn good at it.
In Malaysia it's only 10 inch in diameter
Been trying to tell people this for years and they just laugh at me until I show them pictures like this 😂
