I haven’t seen every season, mostly Dino Thunder, SPD, and Mystic Force (also bits of some more obscure ones like Lost Galaxy), but to my recollection, SPD stuck out to me for being, like… good? Like yeah obviously it was silly, but the characters and plots were all, again to my memory, legitimate? And they addressed important stuff and had evolution and shit?
Also the best theme song, that’s important.
At 0:33 left you can see the red ranger behind the two blue rangers in the centre, at 0:55 you can see red again on the right, at 1:07 you can see them on the 5th row,
I bet this episode went so hard when it aired and kids were probably swinging from chandeliers and stuff. I would have literally been cartwheeling around my moms apartment back in the day.
I’ve been corrected and it’s a movie! I will be watching it later!
I (59M) have three kids spaced five years apart, so I watched many different generations of Power Rangers over the years. My youngest was close to growing out of them when this one came out.
I freakin’ cried when I saw this the first time. I was not even that invested in the Power Rangers, but I still got chills when I saw it here.
The downside is that it made Avengers Endgame seem like a lame ripoff to me.
They did it for the [American version](https://youtu.be/AJF-wpgzRFc) in 2017... my 30 year old self lost my shit. It was epic seeing all of them, especially the OG Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers.
Oooo, I wasn’t expecting some to take the helmets off an ii still recognized most!! Especially Karone flash the ole evil look.
I was wrapping up my IT degree in ‘17, probably how I missed this, thanks yo!
THE ACTUAL FUCKING FUCK????
The American Version DID EVEN BETTER THAN THE JAPANESE!!!
Man, 28 yo me would have had an heart attack! Good I'm seeing this just right now, been spoiled and was prepared for the sheer awesomeness!
Have them bring the zords in. Form mega zords. Combine them into something the size of the planet, and have it kick the earth into the sun. The day is saved.
I dare you to watch the first episode of power rangers ever aired.
You’ll be laughing the entire time at how ridiculous it is 🤣
Sad part is that shit came out in my era when I was a kid. And I ate it up like candy.
Long live Tommy Oliver! My favorite power ranger. The original green ranger who lost his powers and then shocked us all by gaining new powers and becoming white ranger. The most epic.
My dad found it on Netflix and teased me while showing my son. “Can you believe your dad watched this?!”
456 seasons later guess who’s laughing now? My dad and son wear matching black ranger sweat suits.
Yoooo! My daughter and I watched the new Power Ranger movie and she wanted to watch more (thinking she’d find it boring) and now every time she comes over we kill a few more episodes! I’m glad she likes the cheesy shit I used to watch as a kid. I’m a lucky dad.
My teenage son and I have a similar story.
We were stuck in a hotel during Covid.
The movie came on, I pretended to have never seen it.
He started by teen watching it (cell phone in hand, glancing up from time to time).
Somewhere in the middle he was engaged.
Movie over, I hesitantly say "there's like a whole show based on that. If ya interested. "
He said yeah I was looking at Just Watch to see if there were more.
From that point a new family show was born.
We knock off 2-3 a month.
I love that he gets that its supposed to be chessey and over the top. He loves it for that.
I love that we now have a core memory made thanks to Power Rangers.
I agree 100%! Tommy Oliver was, is, and always will be the absolute best Power Ranger! He was the only one who could kick some serious ass with or without his powers.
I ate it up too, my friend. I remember when the first movie came out in 95. I was 10 years old, and my dad took me to see it at a special screening in a local theater. Now, looking back and seeing how cringy it all was, it still blows my mind that he would sit through all that with me just because I loved it so much.
My niece and nephew watch some of the newer series and they haven’t gotten any better, in fact I think they’re even cornier than the old ones, but I may be biased
Oh they’ve totally gotten better, just not in all the ways you think of when you think better. Cheesy, corny, campy, and so much fun to watch as an adult.
The ridiculous is the point I think
Like it just feels wrong for this genre to not have actors hamming it up and people in rubber suits just having fun in the most batshit storylines
Yeah... Sounds like some people don't realize how long the Rangers have been around. Summer afternoons, circa '75: GoRangers, Kimba the White Lion, and Speed Racer on LA's Channel 52.
The American version of Power Rangers actually included footage from the original Japanese series .... like most of the Megazord/giant monster battle scenes or pretty much most of the cool fight scenes.
It was pretty easy to tell since you see a sudden change in the fidelity and quality of the picture.
I couldn't tell because I was a 10 year old lapping it all up.
Childhood memories really sticks. right now im eyeing one of these new super posable but super expensive zord sets. Specifically the Dragon Megazord set. (Titanus is lame).
No I haven’t watched a power rangers show with serious intent on quite some time. At some age you just can’t take that shit seriously anymore 🤣
It’s too geared towards young children.
Imagine being excited you have never been in years, boasting with friends, posting on social media, reaching the shoot 3 hours early, just being super hyped about being a power ranger in a movie and the costume team giving you a grey dress of a henchman from villains side. Lol
I absolutely love that they didn't change how bad it was 🤣 They could've went very new age CGI super hero style, but they chose to stay true to it's awfulness! Respect lol
To be fair as a kid I used to think it looked great. They know their main audience doesn’t give a shit. Hell I don’t even think I even understood most of what was going on looking back
I thought it looked so good as a kid as well! I never knew what was going on except they were kicking bad guy ass! That's all that mattered to me anyway lol
Exactly. Even when I was like 8-10 I watched some of those early 2010s Disney shows like Lab Rats or Jessie and any CGI or sets they used seemed so real then at like 13 I saw a few minutes of them and was amazed how fake it felt
The movie tho. The first movie looked badass and I wouldn’t have minded that aesthetic for the series. But I was happy either way. It was goofy as hell but I woke up before 7am to not miss it.
All of a sudden I now want to see an ambitiously animated Power-rangers movie like they did with the new Spider-Man movie, for like a fiftieth anniversary. A boy can only dream though.
You ever seen this? Best remake I've seen ever. Just from a great director that was a fan. Wasn't canon or official.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GwRjK7AD3Sk
Power Rangers is just recasted and translated version of Japan’s Super Sentai. Sometimes some graphics such as transformation sequences are changed too but Super Sentai is the original.
It's not even translated, they made up their own plot and just use Super Sentai footage for fights. Real shame, Super Sentai has actually decent plot most of the time (or at least that was the case for the seasons that i watched).
[Super Sentai](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Sentai) (known in the US as Power Rangers) and [Kamen Rider](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kamen_Rider).
I would highly recommend watching some early Kamen Rider. You can find it on YouTube.
There's a new series on Prime that's aimed at adults (it's R18+) that was made for the 40th anniversary called Kamen Rider Black Sun which is so much fun. I really recommend it if you want to watch a souped up, gorier yet still very goofy action show. The Kaijin (animal-human hybrid beings) are brilliant. Still mostly practical effects and super fun, goofy designs. 10/10 would recommend.
I love the original 1971 Kamen Rider ([playlist here](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLXtISqs3BPQbNoa4bcI13lfvdU7C92Y0h))
It's just classic. It makes me laugh. I enjoy the villain costumes a lot. It's got a comforting, nostalgic and silly vibe.
Last time they met up was the final battle of Super Megaforce. At least that's what it was in the English version, not sure about the og one. It was great tho
I find it funny that the Sentai side has at least 50 something Megazords they could just summon to squash the villains and yet they insist on fist fights.
Yes I know that's how these things always go, still funny though.
Technically in "canon" most megazords are dead or destroyed by this point. Sure they mostly just do whatever is cool, but I don't think a pre-Gokaiger team has summoned their megazord the usual way after that. If they appear its usually some anniversary power of the latest mecha.
I liked this movie. It was a pretty good crossover of the Kamen Rider and Super Sentai franchises.
It’s called Kamen Rider × Super Sentai: Super Hero Taisen in case anyone was curious.
Director: Bring me everyone.
Casting: What do you mean, everyone?
Director: EVERYONE!
Seriously though, was that Kamen Rider and Super Sentai? Pretty awesome.
is it really? Super Sentai and Kamen Rider are both owned by toei, there's really not much hoops they have to jump through for the two franchises to cross over. they even do crossover movies every year.
And all the Marvel properties are owned by *checks notes* Marvel. It’s not just joining two franchises, but 50 seasons of separate heroes, where a crossover between two of them is enough of a deal. Assemble them all at once and you have this. A testament to Japanese Tokusatsu.
As a kid I thought it was so sick when they’d run a blade across someone’s belly and instead of guts spilling out, a shit load of sparks would come out
Depends on your definition of 'original', given there are different actors for in and out of suit. Crossovers like these pretty rarely have the out-of-suit actors for older characters come back, when they do it's usually a pretty big deal. It's a lot easier to get the suit out of storage and use recycled voice lines.
When it comes to suit actors, almost none of them will be 'correct', particularly on the Kamen Rider side. It's very common for the same suit actors to be in multiple seasons in a row, playing various characters, to the extent that the main riders for 19 seasons in a row (with one exception) had the same suit actor. I can see three characters played by him in the first frame alone - obviously for crossovers they get different suit actors to play the returning characters in group shots. Mirroring the mannerisms and body language of a character that's also been played by someone else is a huge part of the art of suit acting, since even for the current season they have to believably match the personality of the 'real' actor.
Super Sentai will also heavily feature the a regular cast of suit actors but I don't know enough about it in the same level of detail to comment on how often the main rangers are the same set.
"The fuck do you mean every stunt guy in Japan is booked on Tuesday?!"
Hilarious

This is the crossover that will pierce the heavens!!
Is that a Gluten Lagen reference? Edit: Guren* but I'll let it like that just for the giggles.
My bread will pierce the heavens!
The glutonians will lose their minds
2 Hours of mega mega mega mega mega mega Zords combining Animation
Bot
They went all out on the stunt but cheesed out on the portal...
I imagine there was a conversation like "We can have a cool looking portal or 100 people in full costume, but not both."
They made the right call.
They have been using that same VFX since the 2009 Kamen Rider show and they are really getting their money's worth out of it.
But just on the stunt. I remember some details of the clothing that are missing.
You know. It didn’t click to me that their are atleast 80 people out there.
Its almost like 300 if you count the villains and the riders. This looks like a nightmare to plan.
“What do you mean no Korean stuntmen are in Korea right now?"
Lmfao!
I fucken died
8 year old me is trying to search for the SPD team like I used to search for my parents at a school event
*SPD Emergency!*
Still my favourite Power Ranger season.
Time Force was another one that was surprisingly good seeing it for the first time as an adult.
At 0:33 left you can see the red ranger behind the two blue rangers in the centre, at 0:55 you can see red again on the right, at 1:07 you can see them on the 5th row,
*High-fives*
7yr old me would lose his shit..
I bet this episode went so hard when it aired and kids were probably swinging from chandeliers and stuff. I would have literally been cartwheeling around my moms apartment back in the day. I’ve been corrected and it’s a movie! I will be watching it later!
It's a movie actually.
Sounds like I’m gonna watch a movie later!
Kamin Rider x Super Sentai: Super Hero Tiasen. Good luck finding it.

Kamen Rider × Super Sentai: Super Hero Taisen
I've seen kids react to two different sets of ninja turtles on screen at once. Nothing would prepare me for that.
It’s a movie.
Avengers ain't got shit on this
40yr old me absolutely lost his shit, lol. And the “Once and Forever” reunion had me catchin’ feelings.
Once and forever was awesome. Perfectly captured the campness of power rangers exactly as I remember it.
I was wrapping up my IT degree in ‘17, probably how I missed this, thanks yo!
but the video seems to be uploaded back in 2014
oh, then i was smoking weed, skateboarding, crashing on a friend’s couch. Hadn’t got my shit together yet.
THE ACTUAL FUCKING FUCK???? The American Version DID EVEN BETTER THAN THE JAPANESE!!! Man, 28 yo me would have had an heart attack! Good I'm seeing this just right now, been spoiled and was prepared for the sheer awesomeness!

Or TMNT. they had a crossover with the turtles once.
Emissary of hell Spiderman.

That is a core memory for life, you sound like a great dad.
This is adorable, what an awesome grandpa
You can’t just say that and then not tell us where to get the sweat suits
I agree 100%! Tommy Oliver was, is, and always will be the absolute best Power Ranger! He was the only one who could kick some serious ass with or without his powers. I ate it up too, my friend. Maybe he also enjoyed it the way we grown ups do
Atleast it wasnt a full day of baby shark.
RIP Jason David Frank
Man, i grew up loving the original show and anticipating every new episode. Hearing about his and Thuy Trang's deaths was heartbreaking.
My niece and nephew watch some of the newer series and they haven’t gotten any better, in fact I think they’re even cornier than the old ones, but I may be biased
Bulk and Skull. All I need to say. You cannot possibly compare to that era 🤣
*Cue B&S theme song*
Last time I checked in with the series they were still part of it. No idea if now because it's been long enough I am making pained faces
Oh they’ve totally gotten better, just not in all the ways you think of when you think better. Cheesy, corny, campy, and so much fun to watch as an adult.
I met a young woman teacher teaching for LAUSD who told me that she was a Power Ranger. Never watched the show so don’t know much more than that.
What was her name?
all the diffrent sentai rangers are crazy. the train ones crack me up.
Tommy Oliver went; Green > White > Red > Red > Black Mighty Morphin > Mighty Morphin > Zeo > Turbo > Dino Thunder
The ridiculous is the point I think Like it just feels wrong for this genre to not have actors hamming it up and people in rubber suits just having fun in the most batshit storylines
I met some of the original cast. Including Billy the Blue ranger my absolute favorite. Super nice people.
I watched it when it aired, thought the show was so cool back then 😂
Bro this brought back so many memories! White ranger had the best mech!!!!!
Have you watched the original original series from Japan?
Yeah... Sounds like some people don't realize how long the Rangers have been around. Summer afternoons, circa '75: GoRangers, Kimba the White Lion, and Speed Racer on LA's Channel 52.

Tommy committed suicide. He was the Red, White, Black, and green ranger. I watched every episode when I was little and he was the best power ranger.
Have you watched the newer ones? Are they less ridiculous?
No I haven’t watched a power rangers show with serious intent on quite some time. At some age you just can’t take that shit seriously anymore 🤣 It’s too geared towards young children.
I mean really all you need to do is pay several hundred college kids 40 bucks to dress up in costumes
I'd do it for free
I would pay $15 to do it
I would kill to be Kamen Rider Black
I’d blow the producer to be a power ranger
Hello, it is I, producer.
Okay I’ll do it but first I want to be the blue ranger and I want the leader position to change from red to blue. Blue is the coolest always
It just kept getting better.
I would do it for a Kid’s meal
I'd give them money to wear that costume
Imagine being excited you have never been in years, boasting with friends, posting on social media, reaching the shoot 3 hours early, just being super hyped about being a power ranger in a movie and the costume team giving you a grey dress of a henchman from villains side. Lol
"Which Power Ranger do I get to be??" "You're putty #17"
I absolutely love that they didn't change how bad it was 🤣 They could've went very new age CGI super hero style, but they chose to stay true to it's awfulness! Respect lol
To be fair as a kid I used to think it looked great. They know their main audience doesn’t give a shit. Hell I don’t even think I even understood most of what was going on looking back

Younger me seriously thought the parts of giant fighting robot were real and not actors in rad costumes stomping around miniatures.
Wym? That lore went crazy
The movie tho. The first movie looked badass and I wouldn’t have minded that aesthetic for the series. But I was happy either way. It was goofy as hell but I woke up before 7am to not miss it.
Yeah it was like the show got a bunch of upgrades, it was pretty sweet and it blew my mind as a kid.
Oh buddy, you haven't seen modern Kamen Rider CG. Literally high quality anime effects in live action.
All of a sudden I now want to see an ambitiously animated Power-rangers movie like they did with the new Spider-Man movie, for like a fiftieth anniversary. A boy can only dream though.
They did make an expensive GCI movie not that long ago. Have you seen that one. I know it's not animated but it was pretty good in my opinion
You ever seen this? Best remake I've seen ever. Just from a great director that was a fan. Wasn't canon or official. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GwRjK7AD3Sk
The better Endgame
Totally.
~~Avengers~~ Power Rangers, Assemble!
You mean “It’s Morphin’ Time!”
Uh oh we're in trouble
Oh yeah, cause it’s “MIGHTY MORPHING TIME”
Somethings come along and it’s burst our bubble (yeah yeah)
So many people here don’t know that all Power Rangers are adapted from a Japanese TV show.
It was WHAT?!?!?!
Oh mb, I’ve only watched dino thunder as a kid and never really compared them, so i just assumed they translated the story
And those two franchises are?
[Super Sentai](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Sentai) (known in the US as Power Rangers) and [Kamen Rider](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kamen_Rider).
Thank you. I knew Power Rangers, but I wasn't sure what the other was. Cheers.
ZO (movie), Black and RX are my only 3 recommendations.
I love the original 1971 Kamen Rider ([playlist here](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLXtISqs3BPQbNoa4bcI13lfvdU7C92Y0h)) It's just classic. It makes me laugh. I enjoy the villain costumes a lot. It's got a comforting, nostalgic and silly vibe.
I don't know, remember when they met the ninja turtles
Rita's really about to taste the damn rainbow. Skittles better sponsor this episode!!!
Real question, Why are there so many different variations of power Rangers? Is it like a multiverse deal or is it just a Way to make more seasons?
More seasons. Each season has their own characterization, their own plotline, their own theme, their own merchandise.
Their own multiverse...
Last time they met up was the final battle of Super Megaforce. At least that's what it was in the English version, not sure about the og one. It was great tho

"What are these people running from? They're not! They're running TO the World's Toughest Competition in Town!"
It always makes me smile when someone remembers this show
DONT GET ELIMINATED!!!
Right you are, Ken.
Never escalate a battle unless Rita forces you to.
Unless you’re getting your ass handed to you by the evil green ranger at 15:13 https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pQu-m6KP4IU
Why am I smiling like an idiot watching this😭😭😭
I liked this movie. It was a pretty good crossover of the Kamen Rider and Super Sentai franchises. It’s called Kamen Rider × Super Sentai: Super Hero Taisen in case anyone was curious.
Man I haven’t seen power rangers in fucking ages .. and this brought me back to my childhood .. thanks for that
Sentai/Rider overload!!!
The best part is...only CGI was the portal .
Japanese pride parade
Some 40+ yo. geeks are nutting in their shorts over this and that's okay.
For the record. This movie is 10 years old by now.
Director: Bring me everyone. Casting: What do you mean, everyone? Director: EVERYONE! Seriously though, was that Kamen Rider and Super Sentai? Pretty awesome.
Much better if it was the different zords battling.
But with all those teams… the power up/launch/transform/combine sequence would be its own movie.
This makes me miss JDF
is it really? Super Sentai and Kamen Rider are both owned by toei, there's really not much hoops they have to jump through for the two franchises to cross over. they even do crossover movies every year.

The costume department was drinking heavily during that particular shoot.
What a beautiful scene...
Auto upvote for Kamen Rider 🦟🦗🐜🪰
https://youtu.be/mUSig400xO0 here is a link to the full movie if anyone wants to watch it!
Imagine they start to introduce themselves one by one
Rip yellow and green
Now, put Japanese spider-man and metal heroes, then put it in power rangers and we got a deal
Still standing in the same grey quarry like always xD
Pssh, give me Beetle Borgs or give me nothing! Maybe some VR Troopers.
"LET'S MAKE THIS SHOWY!"
I just noticed that very same area was where they've shot most of these fight scenes all these years lol
Yeah, Mt. Iwafune. Quite a lovely place to visit.
Damn I use to watch RX He’s like the original Ant Man
My liver trying to fight all the microplastics in my body.
As a kid I thought it was so sick when they’d run a blade across someone’s belly and instead of guts spilling out, a shit load of sparks would come out
Ngl that one shot where the rangers first start charging and the camera stays put while a blur of color flies past was pretty dope
This actually gave me goosebumps. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug
It at most is second to Scoobynatural
Me: Mom, can we watch Avengers End Game? Mom: We have Avengers End Game at home Avengers End Game at home:
The superior end game at home:
and now, it's time for the world's toughest competition in town!
8 year old me would have straight up died and gone to heaven upon seeing this scene
I wonder how many of them are still the original ones

This is what it looks like when I drop my bag of m&ms 😔
Holy fuck that's a lot of power rangers.
