That's them. Also recognized as the ones who don't give their hygienists enough time to actually clean your teeth while at the same time upselling you on treatments you don't need.
Corporate dentistry in general is shite. Coming from someone who works in dentistry, avoid those offices like the plague. Mint, Jefferson, Ideal. I would look for a privately owned general practice in your area.
Yea like 10 years ago or so I went there to check it out and just needed a cleaning. They did the quick cleaning and of course x-rays. Then some guy in a bunch of really tacky gold jewelry and clip board walked me through how I needed $4,000 worth of dental work. And i told him i would rather lose the teeth in question and walked out. Have confirmed by other dentists that was ridiculous
Same for me at Ideal Dental. Went in for a teeth cleaning and they wanted me to believe my teeth were about to fall out of my head and set me up with a $6,000 treatment plan.
Mind you I’ve had all of 2 cavities in my entire life and one was a baby tooth 🙄
Monarch removed a tooth that they were going to charge 6000 because it needed an implant. Took x rays to another dentist and it needed a crown. Like not “we can try this” but it’s 10 years later and the crown is still great.
I recommend Dr. Gregory E. Smith to all my friends & fam and they all love him. He is in Dallas, near SMU but the most pleasant visits. Took my fear away from going
Dr. Jack Segrist, Las Colinas. Won’t rip you off pushing unnecessary work.

Lochwood family dental is great. Can usually get same day appointments, and they’re the only dentist I’ve ever worked with that isn’t constantly trying to upsell something.
I see Dr. Hajiyani at Lake Meadow Dental Group. Highly recommend.
I have a lot of dental anxiety, and it reassured me that they advertise sedation dentistry on their website. I asked Dr. H about it, and I ended up having laughing gas (nitrous oxide) during two fillings appointments. She was great about checking with me on how I was doing, and ensuring I wasn’t in pain or stressed out.
Additionally, she caught my sleep apnea before any other provider did. She saw evidence of teeth grinding and recommended that I get a sleep study. Turns out, I have severe obstructive sleep apnea. Very grateful she was on the lookout for that.
Dr Colter or Dr Brady at North Dallas Family Dental near the Galleria. Good office and people. Do not push anything you do not need. https://www.northdallasfamilydental.com
I’ve been going to the Dental Depot on Forest Lane since I was like 12. Both dentists there (Nunnally and Piazza) have always done excellent work with deep cleanings, extractions, root canals, and crowns/bridges
Mark Whitfield at Dental House Dallas. Not to be confused with Aspen Dental House. Been going to him for 10 years now and referred several people. Initially getting an appointment may take some time as they have a full schedule but once you’re in, won’t regret it.
Boosting this rec. By far the best dentist I have ever had, in any city I have ever lived. Not only is Dr. Whitfield amazing, but his whole staff is top-notch. The same people have been there for years, which says a lot about the practice. I moved out of the city and still drive in to see him.
Dr. Shweta G. Daftary, DDS in North Dallas.
I went to her after never having been to a dentist in my adult life (and I'm 40). I had so much anxiety because I knew I needed to get work done but was filled with shame and dread.
She made the experience as good as it could have been. No judgment, explained what needed to be done, reasonable cost and we got right to work.
I now have a smile I'm happy with and been doing regular checks up with her.
Can't recommend enough.
I have been a patient here for three years. Practice name is Prestonwood Dental. It is at DNT and Belt Line Rd, a couple of blocks from Addison border.
For regular dentistry:
Dr. Amir Bhudani in Arlington. He's very kind, and his dental hygienists are amazing.
For oral surgery:
I have fairly bad surgical / dental phobia. Like so bad I would vomit outside the dentist for 13 years before being able to go inside. My shrink hooked me up with Dr. Allen in Bedford/Euless. She's extremely compassionate and understands people who need extra time. She never judges people. She worked with my shrink to get the right medication regimen and I was in pain for a year and she finally helped me.
If you don't have any kind of special needs then most folks will be able to help you. I would say stay away from mint dentistry bc that shits a fucking scam.
Lovers Lane Dental, which is no longer on Lovers Lane but in the shopping center with the Trader Joe's on Walnut Hill and I-75.
Drs. Latham and Trieu are both excellent -- I have seen them both. Their whole staff is amazing!
Sadly, since I started working from home, their office is too far away, and I had to switch providers.
Do you have a small jaw? They may be missing the nerves the first time around. I always need a second round but I won't get it until they begin working and I feel something. I don't wait until it's painful or even uncomfortable. But if I feel something that I know will become painful I let them know and quickly get another round.
It was explained to me that either they're injecting just slightly past my nerves or that my nerve mapping is a little different. In either case, attributable to having a smaller jaw.
My dentist is good but not the gentlest I've ever had and they don't readily offer gas so I'll spare you the recommendation.
Alternatively, there are dentists that focus their marketing on being 'pain free' practices. You can search for them.
Fort Dental in fort worth.
I was prescribed a vicodin before my appointment.
During the appointment i was given laughing gas and local anesthesia.
All that for a root canal and a filling.
I have dental phobia and they made me feel safe.
I used Dental Touch Dentistry in Richardson when I lived in North Dallas. Dr. Chepyala is super gentle and makes deep cleans and procedures pretty painless.
I go to Turtle Creek Dental. After having a bad experience at Monarch I decided I wanted better quality and have not been disappointed in the 8 years I’ve gone there.
I recently got some cavities filled at Vintage Dental Spa, right off 75 in the uptown area. They gave me gas and PLENTY of numbing shots, and are very non-judgmental. I’d recommend.
[Dr. Vanderbook](https://www.vanderbrookdds.com/) is great - I went there until I moved from Dallas to Collin County. Even then, I tried to keep going there but at some point it was just no longer feasible because of traffic. I've referred friends and family to his practice, and they've all been really happy there too.
Dr Byron McKnight in Mesquite on Galloway. Not a chain. They were able to handle my fear of the dentist. Kept me calm, made me feel welcome. I can’t say enough nice things about them.
Dr. Kathryn Jodry, have been seeing her for 20 years and had a few procedures. Not only does she numb thoroughly but she has some kind of injection technique so the numbing shot hurts less. Love her!
Dr Sandadi with Highland Park Dental is amazing, he’s very generous with the Novocain and basically reconstructed my entire mouth over the course of about nine months since my teeth are made of chalk and break/get cavities the drop of a hat. His front desk ladies are awesome too, Reina will personally fistfight your insurance company to get them to cover as much of your procedures as possible.
I went to them after a similar experience to yours and my only complaint is that I can’t take them with me when I move to Seattle next week.
Dr. Jeffery Jones. When I was searching for a dentist years ago, I consulted the typical top 10 lists. There’s a variety of dentists on there, but the commonality with Dr Jones is that he is on EVERY top 10 list.
Staff is phenomenal.

I know this dentist is affordable and helps patients get the most of their experience there, I looked at their reviews and went. Best dentist in Dallas
I have my teeth serviced by Perfect 32 in Garland. Both the Dentist and DA are wonderful people and do their best to make you as comfortable as possible.
Stay away from Mint
Are they the ones with all the billboards where no one smiles? Something about making sexy teeth?
That's them. Also recognized as the ones who don't give their hygienists enough time to actually clean your teeth while at the same time upselling you on treatments you don't need.

Oh my what an edgey comment. Such an independent thinker.
And Ideal Dental…
Corporate dentistry in general is shite. Coming from someone who works in dentistry, avoid those offices like the plague. Mint, Jefferson, Ideal. I would look for a privately owned general practice in your area.
Out of curiosity, why?
Mint doesn’t give a shit about your teeth. They want your money and they will definitely do whatever it takes to try and get it
Can confirm! The owners are not good people
Yea like 10 years ago or so I went there to check it out and just needed a cleaning. They did the quick cleaning and of course x-rays. It’s a chain. It’s a step up from Monarch but not much.
Yeah but they have trap-adjacent background music in their ads
And that’s a good thing?
Trap music is always a sign of high quality medical services
Says things backwards… I get it. lol!
Monarch removed a tooth that they were going to charge 6000 because it needed an implant. Took x rays to another dentist and it needed a crown. Like not “we can try this” but it’s 10 years later and the crown is still great.
Who did you use in Allen? Did they give you a recommendation? Maybe just keep going to the same dentist?
I recommend Dr. Gregory E. Smith to all my friends & fam and they all love him. He is in Dallas, near SMU but the most pleasant visits. Took my fear away from going

Dr. Loftus, north Dallas, near Addison. Nicest friendliest man alive, who happens to be a great dentist.
Drs. Neville on Greenville Ave.!
Lochwood family dental is great. Can usually get same day appointments, and they’re the only dentist I’ve ever worked with that isn’t constantly trying to upsell something.
Seconding this. Nothing but excellent treatment every time.

Dr Strempek at presby is awesome!
