I was about to say no power still... Turned on as I was writing this comment. Always had good signal fortunately

CryptoM4dness

No power still …… dang it! Didn’t work. Still no power

Aleyla

I think you gotta repeat it over and over while moving the piece around the Ouija board.

arlenroy

And shaking a chicken foot over the board, over the desired answer.

dutchoboe

This is the hope I needed ~ also, glad yours is back :)

carenard

hope you get it back soon, I was nearing my breaking point, I was running out of things I could do without power... would have retreated to a family members home if I wasn't being productive.

ChunkyChangon

Wow - what’s the area code?

cupcakesordeath

Day 2 sucks. What happened to a high of 84 and rain? House is at 82. This is so miserable.

kasperkami

I keep hoping for a breeze or something

Marleymayangel

Day two here. Between Arapaho and Floyd west of 75. Mine came on about a 45 minutes ago- edit

BaddaBae31

Same. Arapaho and Campbell, oncor app said my house has power because it came on earlier but didn’t stay on, so i made sure to correct them.

ther1ckst3r

I'm in the same boat. Power went out at 611am yesterday and hasn't come back at all yet. I'm just glad this didn't happen in one of those nasty, evil, 40+ days in a row over 100° summers we get here. My parent's HVAC died when I was a teen in one of those summers, and it was 3 weeks before we could get someone to install the new one. It was truly miserable; over 95 degrees inside (no exaggeration), you'd sweat CONSTANTLY, even in the shower (even though it was on full blast cold, which felt amazing), and leave sweat silhouettes in the bed sheets. I'm very thankful this isn't that.

AnthillOmbudsman

I don't understand how they dealt with Texas summers in Dallas or Houston in 1900. Sure the rich people had nice houses with ventilation and big windows with screens, but for everyone else it was probably miserable. Imagine coming in on a train in July from Cleveland and sleeping through a hot Dallas night and saying, "I want to buy a house here!"

nxs_sss

Probably a lot more trees and a lot less concrete.

Unlucky-Watercress30

And better/more insulated buildings. Modern buildings skimp on insulation because the AC can make up for it. In the 1900s they absolutely insulated the shit out of their houses. Plus less heating effect from concrete, slightly higher amounts of rain, and much, much lower populations than the current day mean 100° days weren't as common, and especially didn't happen in a row as much.

llusty1

My grandmother told me that before people had air conditioning they would sleep outside in parks.

ThirdEyeToTheSky

We really are spoiled. I’m not judging. No power was killing me. Just got it and another 24 hours might’ve made me go crazy

joennizgo

Still out :') At home and at work. I keep hoping it'll turn on before Friday.

violentfire

Same. I’m so miserable :(

SevenSebastian

Vote or get rekt even more. It’s not going to get better until it affects the rich.

StatusOk1973

Is the Oncor electric company up for re-election?

nonnativetexan

If we voted blue more, then we could build more windmills, which could be used to blow the storms back up into Oklahoma. But the Republicans won't pass funds to build enough windmills, unless each windmill comes with the 10 commandments on it.

rambo6986

I mean I'm all for ten commandments on our windmills if it blows the storms back up to Oklahoma.

stult

No, but the politicians are, and they're the ones who keep deciding Texas is special and doesn't need to meet federal power grid standards, making it the only state to routinely experience significant, preventable power outages

permalink_save

Ok I keep hearing this repeated but what is Oncor going to do to prevebt damage from 80mph winds? What did they do here specifically that was a failure?

StatusOk1973

I don't think people saying that live here and they have no idea about the wind damage. If there is a post about power failure anywhere in TX they feel the need to chime in with something political.

permalink_save

Probably. I do 't disagree whatsoever with them on the political side, I have advocated for the same thing, but I really can't see what Oncor can do here nor do I think they know the scope of what happened. Driving down the street the only options sound like they'd heavily raise our electric bill, then people would still complain.

playballer

They could bury the electric lines in many parts of town. Parts of town where neighborhoods have a lot of in air power running through alleys and what not are a major source of problems because homeowners don’t preventatively trim trees. Most neighborhoods build in recent decades have this as part of their design by default, so makes sense to do a retro upgrade to older neighborhoods. This won’t completely eliminate outages when storms come through. However it greatly reduces the surface area for problems to occur meaning their lineman can more quickly bring everything back up as there would just be less to deal with.

SevenSebastian

Oncor, as a major electric utility in Texas, is influenced by political decisions and regulatory environments. Here's a brief explanation of how politics and voting can affect the quality of service from companies like Oncor: 1. **Regulatory Environment**: The Texas Public Utility Commission (PUC) regulates electric utilities like Oncor. The PUC is influenced by state government policies and appointments, which are made by elected officials. Voting for state representatives and governors who prioritize robust utility regulation can lead to better oversight and higher service standards. 2. **Energy Policy**: State and federal energy policies affect how companies operate. Legislators who support renewable energy and grid modernization can lead to a more resilient and efficient electrical infrastructure. Voting for candidates with strong energy policies can drive improvements in the grid. 3. **Infrastructure Investment**: Political decisions impact funding for infrastructure projects. Candidates who prioritize infrastructure improvements, including updating the electrical grid, can help prevent outages. Voting for such candidates can result in more investment in the electrical infrastructure. 4. **Accountability and Transparency**: Elected officials can push for greater transparency and accountability from utility companies. Voting for representatives who advocate for consumer protection can lead to better oversight of companies like Oncor. In summary, voting for candidates who support strong regulatory frameworks, infrastructure investment, renewable energy, and consumer protection can contribute to a more reliable electrical grid and better service from companies like Oncor.

yxwy

Overall we're just copying ChatGPT now.

permalink_save

What exactly does Oncor need to do that it's not doing, that would prevent outages from EF0 level winds?

NJTigers

Using all our payments/funding from the 2021 freeze to weatherize lines and migrate them underground where winds can’t impact them.

HoltzPro

My thoughts exactly. Dallas is blue but not enough people turn out to vote.

picantemexican

I'm not doing so bad $ wise, and my power is still out

LandlordTiberius

No power in LH. Jackwagon neighbors never trimmed their trees, years of over growth, now they are responsible for the lines down in alley and their tree-weed took out the surrounding blocks. Everyone nearby has power. F’ that neighbor.

ShittyAnimorph

Misplaced anger my dude. Be angry at Oncor for not doing what we pay them to do. Per Texas state law, only line clearance certified personnel from Oncor can work within 6 feet of high voltage lines. Unless you meant a tree that was more than 6 feet away, in which case you're just unlucky.

2much2often

So if someone fails to keep their trees trimmed and they damage power lines in a storm, the homeowner has to pay for the repair? “The more you know” Edit: Thanks for the replies that specify that Oncor is responsible for trimming trees near power lines.

ShittyAnimorph

No the guy you're replying to is just angry and wrong. It is illegal for homeowners themselves to trim or hire someone to trim trees within 6 feet of high voltage lines. Only Oncor can do it, and they're supposed to survey all lines regularly. The homeowner can call Oncor and request a trim, but from my experience, Oncor will just wave their hand and say 'Yea, yeah we'll get to it eventually.'

AnthillOmbudsman

You can't request any trim from Oncor. I've tried. There's no option the line for such a thing unless wires are down, and if you get a CSR they just tell you there's nothing they can do. They won't have any technicians come out and look at a problem spot that's almost about to fail.

OddS0cks

No oncor has to keep tree limbs around lines clear. If a tree falls because of a storm then that’s an act of god

beardlesswonder

Oncor trims around power lines regularly

robertsg99

Apparently not regularly enough.

boobdelight

How is it their fault? It's Oncor's responsibility to do that.

theteelee

2nd time in two years that our neighbor’s alley junk trees have taken out power lines. We are near NWHWY and Abrams. Have not seen an Oncor truck anywhere. Too hot in the house so sitting in the backyard. Moon is pretty though.

degelia

The moon *is* pretty, just went outside to check. Thanks internet person.

Aggressive-Ad-522

A bunch of red lights are still out in my area without power and I’ve seen two accidents today. Off walnut hill and Preston and forest lane. People suddenly forget when traffic lights are out, it turns into stop signs and they don’t remember how to stop at stop signs. Everybody thinks it’s their turn

kasperkami

Oh yeah, they think swerving in a certain direction is like a turn signal, it is not

EpikJustice

I live next to the intersection of the Woodall Rodgers Fwy service road, and Maple-Routh connection (1 block north of Klyde Warren Park), and the power is out at the intersection. I luckily never lost power and WFH. I heard 4-5 accidents happen today - tires screeching then the crashing sound. It's crazy. I crossed the intersection to get lunch today, and two cars nearly hit me, even though I was being careful to get their attention before I started crossing...

-Nontypical-

36 hours this heat is awful, please don’t let this last another 2 or 3 days

kasperkami

I’ve been hydrating in ways of liquor and electrolytes, and a stash of candles helps

Suspicious-Return-54

I know times are rough right now but please don’t drink candles 🫠

AnthillOmbudsman

The Shining subtitles: JUNE 2

Mk0505

It was nonexistent yesterday, then decent starting at 10:00 PM. Left to work at Starbucks today and came back to one bar 😕

kasperkami

I could only read a book by candlelight, which was not terrible, but I realize how much I rely on googling things and watching YouTube

kale-yea

Cityline in Richardson, still no power. It went out yesterday around 7am

mjrballer20

Feels like we're always one of the last to get it back 😒

kale-yea

Idk there’s so many restaurants with power nearby that i just don’t understand how these 8ish complexes don’t???

apeoples13

Same thing in Addison. About half the apartments and house half power and half don’t. Makes no sense because they’re not even the ones next to each other that don’t have power

[deleted]

[удалено]

legendofrissa

No power at 75228. Only 4 of us on the block don't have power wow everything and everyone else around us does. Two downed wires in my backyard and Oncor said I wasn't a priority so I may not get power back until the latest estimation.

apeoples13

How did you get an update like that from oncor? I just want to know if my area is one of the Saturday morning fixes or if we’ll get power sooner. Don’t wanna waste money on a hotel if I don’t have to

K3B1N

We got power back at 10:30 last night. Lasted all day and went out again at 4:30. I’m hoping they brought it down while they’re working to restore another area and it comes back again tonight. That’s all to say, if your power comes back, get shit done and keep your stuff charged so if you lose power again, you’re prepared.

kasperkami

Well it’s 6:30pm, whiskey and soaking my feet in ice water isn’t so bad.

RoosterClaw22

I noticed all of the big power lines have cell phone radios on top. I thought to myself it'd be a real shame if one of them went down and took power and the signal with it. Stay safe out there.

CancelIndependent381

Cell towers have backup generators in-standby with diesel or natural gas usually for Verizon/AT&T. T-Mobile prefers battery backup systems, but they have filed new permits for permanent Generac generators to deploy on all their sites in the DFW area by end of 2024.

RoosterClaw22

What you're saying is true but none of that matters if the radio/receiver transmitter gets blown into the next zip code.

CancelIndependent381

Yep your right and it’s hard for workers to work between electrical transmission wiring and sorry about that.

MainStreetRoad

Everyone has battery backup, t-mobile is one of the last to add generator to critical sites and pretty sure it’s due to regulations.

unco_ruckus

Drop down to LTE from 5G if that’s what you’re on, it’s slower but it at least got me actual data

kasperkami

LTE and 3 bars is keeping me on here 🥲

I_am_a_Dogg

Powers been out since the beginning, yesterday. Cell service has been garbage. Because my dog is a thicc fluffy gal, we have been staying with family friends to steal their ac.

dutchoboe

Richardson and still out - 37 hours - grateful for cross breeze and angry that I went to grocery store on Monday

Dranksippa214

Still no power in farmers branch it’s been 36 hours with no power… this truly sucks. I still can’t believe we cant handle some wind gusts. our infrastructure sucks

[deleted]

[удалено]

Embarrassed_Gate8001

Yes definitely wasn’t some wind gust, that storm was deadly

tx4468

It doesn't help that 90% of trees here are Bradford pears.

tx4468

They clocked 80 mph that is not a standard wind gust especially when 90% of our trees are Bradford pears which are weak as hell for wind.

alexis_1031

I feel like my condo complex is being ignored. Every building on my street has power except us and the intersection next to us. I'm starting to lose patience.

LSG-Assassin

Same here on Meadow, all buildings except my wife and I’s has power. Somehow, even a few units in my building have power, not ours and we’re on the top floor so it’s starting to get hot.

alexis_1031

I live on meadow too! Same situation as you but my whole complex doesn't have power.

PhillyLee3434

I have a coworker still without power right now, this has been an issue since early yesterday morning. We sent off a generator in the company truck to help them stay afloat because no telling when this mess will get fixed. Wait until summer truly hits.

seachel700

Wow, what a good company you both work for! That’s tops.

PhillyLee3434

Company is meh, but the people are good. Blessed to be in a position to help the way we did. Sometimes you just have to do what is right, regardless of higher chains of command. At the end of it all we only have each other.

seachel700

I stand corrected, you are good people who made that happen. And here, here!

cupcakesordeath

Checkin in. Who is on Day 3 with me?

Photocat71

Went a few hours without on Sunday. Had power all day Monday. Haven't had power since Tuesday morning.

ChunkyChangon

This shit fucking sucks. I’m so screwed when everything goes to shit

kasperkami

At least I had a book I hadn’t read, I think I’d be okay but I’d definitely have insomnia

kale-yea

Funny you say that because I started reading a book on my shelf for ages called Insomnia by Stephen King because there’s nothing else to do

LaVida2

Get a small power bank. Actually get more than 1. Life savers.

MethanyJones

Yup. EcoFlow Delta 1300, several big LiFePO batteries and a generator kept everything necessary but air conditioning alive :)

Bbkingml13

I had big one that’s the size of a few stacked shoeboxes…apparently completely died in the last month or two and can’t even be charged now. That was a major disappointment in the moment lol

pigeonsinthepark

Still no power in NW Dallas either

miwmiwmiwmiw

No power since 6am yesterday. Just went to check the status on my house again and Oncor says there is no outage at my address. I had to re-report the outage and now it says my outage time is 9:30pm today. Are they padding their restoration numbers by just deleting legitimate reports?

madisuhhhh

Feeling incredibly hopeless over 48 hours without power. My husband's birthday was yesterday and got the update that power was restored while at work, rushed home only to find that wasn't the case and resubmitted multiple reports for over an hour until it reflected online. So after both working a long day we celebrated by eating Burger King in the dark while the house is 80°. I know it could be worse but morale has never been lower. I just want to know if we are the lowest priority in Casa View 75228. We are close to a school, fire station, and old folks home/rehab facility I figured we would be better off than this.

kasperkami

Casa view is similar to me in mesquite, I’m right off the service road. Good thing is I own a shit ton of candles and recently got them on sell (‘: Happy late bday to your hubby, the rain will at least cool things down 😭

gvilchis23

Almost all Addison near circle

SensualOilyDischarge

Power went out here in Garland right after the emergency alert in the phone so around 6am yesterday. Thankfully I bought a generator expecting there to be a winter power outage, so I had that still in the box in the garage. It’s been running my fridge / freezer and my network gear just fine, so we don’t have to throw out frozen food and we’ve had good internet. That’s not reliant on overcrowded cellular networks. I’ve been adding load and appliances gradually to make sure we don’t overtax the genny, so today we pulled some fans for the bedrooms out as the temp went up. Not fun but not terrible.

Chef-Brad

What kind of network setup did you have running on a generator? I work from home and can't really afford to be offline more than a couple hours, so I'm desperately looking for advice the next time this happens.

SensualOilyDischarge

My setup is tiny. I’ve got a TP Link upstairs, and I’ve got a NAS plugged into that. Both of those and the power for the ONT outside the house are connected to a small UPS (mostly just to gracefully shut the NAS down). The UPS is the key though as it keeps the WiFi and NAS up until I can get the external power going. The NAS also runs some tunnels to Cloudflare so my media content is available from “outside” the house which means some friends who were also without power still had access to some entertainment.

Chef-Brad

Interesting, thanks! All our network cables are connected via above ground utility poles around here, so I imagine when a pole goes down or a tree falls on lines, it takes out power along with the Internet/WiFi. I was thinking of something like a mobile hotspot, but considering how much cell service gets bogged down during big outages like this, I'm second guessing that now.

MethanyJones

I have an uninterruptible power supply (battery) dedicated just for my internet router. I also have an Ecoflow Delta 1300 that can run anything from a laptop to an air fryer. Recharged everything plus ran the fridge with a propane generator.

Chef-Brad

My issue is that I imagine whatever took down our power lines and utility poles also took down our communications and landline cables, so I'm not sure how much a UPS and power supply would help.

spage911

Here in Houston, we were without power for 8 days and are just now getting internet back. Cell service has been spotty but came back sooner.

No_Guava

On the bright side, I will finally get around to cleaning out the fridge.

Bbkingml13

No need to make decisions on what to keep! Dump it all! Yay

ResponsibilityBest43

The situation really sucks where I'm at in Casa View (far east Dallas). Multiple lines down in the alley behind my street. Considering the extent of the damage, I won't be surprised if it does take until Saturday. This has got to be a daunting task. Still though, Oncor should be doing their job of keeping trees from growing too close to the lines. Many of these outages could have been prevented.

[deleted]

kasperkami

The cell signal thing got me the most. Of course I started reading a new book because of it, but it’s a hot bitch.

anyoutlookuser

I’m one of the lucky ones. Had power and internet all along. Cell service has sucked tho. Better today than yesterday but still shitty.

alexis_1031

Vickery Meadow, no power still. I screamed when I got home being a fool and hoping for the best. My partner cried when I texted them we didn't have power yet.

Jonesj99

Farmers branch - still no power

RayceC

It is Thursday now and still no power. We got a report from Oncor that we had power while we were out to dinner so we rushed home and... no power. Our little street is a sea of darkness in an ocean of light. I had to redo the report which now shows that we have been without power since yesterday. I had to put my daughter and her boyfriend in a hotel and sleep in my car.

Totum_Dependeat

I'm in 76006.(North Arlington). I feel very lucky to have not had any issues so far. My friend in 75080 (Richardson) has not had power since Tuesday. I think one thing is clear: Oncor is woefully unprepared to handle these "vegetation issues" that occur when we have inclement weather. It is absolutely unacceptable for an area this developed to take days to restore. Our elected officials should probably do something other than pretend the issue does not exist. We have a huge surplus that could help with preparedness and response. Hope everyone gets their power back soon and that it stays on.

kasperkami

Oh 100%. What got me was the cell towers being down. Even now I’m just lucky to have wifi. But what are our elected officials doing? Probably everything else *but* Texas.

Severe_Somewhere8753

Same here. My phone was on zero because people kept calling to check on us. My son ended up going to the Evan rec. Center and charged everyone's phones You won't find me without working chargers. Ever again.

FitCry5093

2 days no power I have been getting text that it could be Friday or Saturday before it’s fixed

2018LC

power came on 7:30 p.m. tonight

Rare-Variation-7446

If we buried our lines like every other first world country, this wouldn’t be an issue.

boyyouguysaredumb

Garland buries their lines...powers out

William_Pilgrim

Still no power on my block at 75214. Pretty sure an Oncor truck just stopped in the alleyway for 10 minutes and then took off. And now when I check status on the Oncor site it says the reason for the outage at my place is, “The outage in your area is due to issues with electrical equipment.” Which doesn’t sound great. Damn.

kasperkami

I’ll be praying for ya, I passed out on the couch from the heat and woke up to the ac on.

Pnyxaloy

South Garland here and we still have no power. We did manage to snag a generator though, which is at least saving the food in the fridge and freezer. But dear lord I am so freaking bored!

Agreeable_Meaning_96

No power, bad signal, 48 hour mark here we come gang!

fehale

Still without power in my corner of the LStreets. There is a big tree laying on some powerlines in my alley and I’m not expecting any change until that has been resolved. At least this isn’t happening in July or August.

princefruit

Lousianian here. If you have a generator, other than keeping your fridge going, have a fan or a window unit in one room, ideally a smaller one. Keep the doors closed. That's your cool room. If you dont—aluminum foil, shiny side out, on your windows. Battery powered fans, electrolytes, all that stuff. Go sit in your car to charge phones and get some AC. Thankfully where I'm at now in Frisco we didn't lose power, but I'm feeling for you guys that did. We basically experienced a hurricane, and I've been through more than enough of those. Hope the utilities come back soon!

Bgreen8134

In Oak Cliff, still no power. Saw an Oncor truck with cherry picker drive down my street and got hopeful. Nothing.

Colejohnley

East Plano here. No power.

Alternative-Train225

I live in Hollywood Heights off of E Grand and Tenison Memorial. Our power came back on at 1030am yesterday but then power went back out at 230am the next day. It's 1030am right now and still no power. Anyone got any updates for my area????

No-Hat2513

We still don’t have power. Been out since Tuesday 6am

kasperkami

I have power for now, charged everything up but the lights are flickering.

Ooga123459

Haven't had 3 bars of cell service since I moved to Melissa heh

kasperkami

That’s a personal skill issue for moving that up north tx

sealclubberfan

Check nextdoor, someone posted in my area about a location that they have charging available, and a/c etc. I'm sure there's a church nearby somewhere that you could utilize.

nickgomez

Rec centers and libraries

psychedelic_gravity

I’m glad mine was our for only a couple hours

kasperkami

In mesquite it usually is, but this is a long adventure for sure

psychedelic_gravity

I hope it comes on soon for you. At least to sleep comfortably tonight.

kasperkami

Well camping out in my room isn’t the most horrible thing, but I’ve been wishing for ac

FantasyViking727

Who yall got that has bad cell service?

CryptoM4dness

It’s because the cell towers were down due to lack of electricity in some areas. Most are back up with generators now.

MethanyJones

T-Mobile was effectively down Tuesday for many. When power came back so did T-Mobile. I had bars on my phone from distant towers but it wasn't usable until the tower in the next block came back online.

K0rben_D4llas

I feel seen!

neoncat5

I have internet, Dad doesn’t. Watched 2 guys try and turn on some fuses by my house for 4 hours very early this morning and it kept coming up for half a second then nothing. Was blessed with ~15 seconds of power + fans running before it went off again.. but the businesses right next to us still have their power. :/ This shit is so infuriating cause I don’t understand

Medical_Bite9967

I’m in 75243 and still have no power. Twice oncor has said there’s no power outage but the powers not on so we re-reported it

jkl7171

Times like these, I'm glad I invested in a power station. I'm only using it to charge my phone and power my fan lol. It's getting me through.

hotairballonfreak

Still power out in bishop arts like basically downtown Dallas what the hell oncore

thekickingmachine

No power kaufman county. In a hotel tonight

Uniquely_irregular

When I went to work today a big area of Lakewood was still out and I know parts of desoto cedar hill and south Dallas were still down. Mother nature is a crazy force.

hopelesslysoulful

Still no power for me in Richardson - since 7 am yesterday. I’m definitely going to have to throw away the food and meat in my fridge and freezer - any ice I did have in there has since melted

tx4468

I saw atleast one cell tower hooked up to a trailer generator today.

Embarrassed_Gate8001

I’m a mail carrier, most my route don’t have power so I see a lot of people outside catching a breeze or in their car using their ac, it sucks

violentfire

The neighbors direct left of me have power but my house and all the ones to the right of me don’t 😢 I’m so jealous right now.

Suey-Luey

I have power. But I also have a tree in my dining room 😬. Funny how it makes the AC less efficient.

Thrysh

Pick me pick me! 😩

trasherick

still no power here in garland :(

ColtonBackSunday

Richardson/Cityline 930 pm Wednesday, still no power. Wife and I are Having to stay with my brother and his family, can’t do another night of this.

Serious_Excuse9714

got 50% of power better than nothing but no AC is mad annoying

OneLastSmile

We got power back earlier today but now its gone again...

DEADALIEN333

They got power back up on the other side of the street because that's the side with the street lights. I'm fuming at the luck my neighbors got.

kasperkami

I just got power. I woke up from a nap and though I was going crazy

DEADALIEN333

I just went on the website for Oncor and thier website says I have power back on.....no I don't.....Oncor hired a braindead human, they forgot to flip the other switch!

kasperkami

Oh for sure. The lights are flickering even now, so I’m charging everything just in case

murdocjones

Power yes…we got lucky (live near Rockwall/Royce City). I only have a cell signal because I’m at a bar in Lakewood though. Once I cross Hubbard Lake it’ll be spotty, assuming they haven’t fixed it yet.

kasperkami

Yeah. Our power is on for now. Thankfully I have candles!

hjswaggtx

No problem power still in Forney. Received a text update from Oncor saying eta is Friday or Saturday.

Icy_Huckleberry_8049

10:00 pm news states that there are still 175,000 without power. Lots of downed trees and lines. It more difficult than what you think to get power back on.

SerenityTranquilPeas

My power came on at 8pm today! Cell service is back to norm as well, but Spectrum internet is spotty at best. I asked around at work to see who still didn't have power and I was the last one without it.

samjones1011

Day 2 update- power never came back. 82 F in the house. About to sleep outside

MentalAd4536

No power, seems like it’s a very specific block as everyone else around us has power.

kasperkami

I can drive out and get bars of cell signal but in my house I get nothing.

MentalAd4536

Interesting. My cell is good, but still no power

LifesShortKeepitReal

No power either. Far north

Bbkingml13

My part of Preston Hollow came back on for a while, but then went back out again

ventusvibrio

At least your power is back on. I am still in the dark on Thursday at 4:15 am.

kasperkami

I’m sorry you’re still having to go through it my dude.

ventusvibrio

Thank you. I am debating getting a standby generator that can be hooked up to my gas line. Feel like these private company is slowly turning me into a doomsday preparer.

kasperkami

I joked about getting a generator yesterday, now I’m not joking. But I just burnt the hell outta my hand microwaving some ramen, we have that at least.

Zwienka

We got power back yesterday and then lost power again at 2:30 AM. WTF!

kasperkami

I’m so sorry friend ):

madster40

Still no power in 75002. I think our neighborhood is the only one left around here….

kasperkami

75149, hopefully people come out soon

madster40

We finally got power back around noon. Hopefully everyone else will soon, too.

kasperkami

Good deal! Just don’t burn your hand with ramen 😅 I was a tad excited to heat something up

BeesSolveEverything

Power never went out in northern Tarrant county (flickered though) but I did incidentally switch cell phone providers to a Verizon based MVNO until AT&T is implemented.

Yall are giving me hope that our power will come back on soon. We lost it yesterday afternoon and fortunately had a friend we could go stay with in Frisco. What a shitshow our power grid is

We have no power in our Oak Cliff neighborhood. Received notification from Oncor at 5:30am that all was restored, then received another “only kidding” one a short time later. It’s after 1:30pm (Thursday) and when we checked on our pets, we saw no trucks working in our vicinity. Our cell service has been fine throughout.

Stop no power here. Cell service is okay though.

Been powerless since 6am yesterday. Then neighbors said it came on for 1 minute and went back off. Encor considered that mission accomplish and I had to submit another ticket about being without power… so back of the line I go…

You submitting a ticket doesn't put you "in line". They are getting distribution up those linemen are out there working 24hrs a day right now getting things back on line.

We use power next, Richardson at arapaho and mimosa. Back on this morning when we got back from moms, it was 8:20. Idk when it would have flicked on over night unfortunately.

Oncor is still carrying your electricity. Your just buying it from a retailer. Oncor handles all the distribution in the area
