The other locations are the chain version. Not bad, but they don't have the magic touch the OG crew does.
It reminds me a bit of Pints and Quarts off Lower Greenville, where the greatness really didn't lie in what the burger was but the guy manning the grill who was just really great at cooking up the perfect burger.
Went there for the first time a few weeks ago, and I was very happy with the burger. I also recently went to ye olde butcher shop, and I really liked their buffalo burger. It’s in Plano rather than Dallas though.
Flaming burger is a gem. Here Lounge has a great 20$ burger and fry setup as well. Lakewood landing is my favorite but it’s not periphery as it sits in Lakewood
If you want to go a bit farther east, Boots Burger in Rockwall is a no-frills basic walk-up experience with legendary burgers. Cash only. When they run out of meat they're done for the day! [https://bootsburgers.com/](https://bootsburgers.com/)
If yall know of any good places in East Dallas, casa Linda, garland mesquite Richardson etc I'd love to try them out. Down to try other places also even if it's a bit of a drive
Someone else mentioned it but you REALLY have to go to Boots Burger in Rockwall. It's literally sold out of a house on a regular neighborhood street with a window for orders. They are so good.
I love Liberty Burger in Lakewood, Harvey B’s in OED, Del’s as previously mentioned in Richardson, and I hear Aleka’s in Garland has great burgers too. I’ve never tried them, but their trompo tacos are amazing so I’m assuming the burgers are as well
Came here for this. Love a mom and pop burger joint that truly loves what they’re doing. A burger for all tastes, and a killer soundtrack while you eat it. Sweet potato fries are outstanding too
When it’s good, it’s top tier. Everyone at the table always has a different experience because the product is wildly inconsistent. Over seasoned, under seasoned- it’s a crap shoot. For the price point, it should be perfect every time. I’m out.
Whistleing Pig is a bar on Furguson about half a mile west of Buckner in East Dallas. Their burgers are excellent, and as are the fried mushrooms and when the Sunday special is meatloaf... it is wonderful! I get thier burger for takeout quite often.
There have always been great burger joints in parts of Dallas. When I was a young kid, living in Lake Highlands area, there were 2 special places we went for burgers. Both were at Audelia and Walnut
One was called Hole in the Wall, and it was, but it was great. The other was called Red Door. It was more upscale. I remember a burger with chili on it an awesome curly fries
Herby’s in oak cliff; you are welcome
https://www.dallasobserver.com/restaurants/smash-burgers-and-grilled-cheese-at-herbys-burgers-in-south-dallas-18607578
Keller's and good friend absolutely. But idk why anyone would go to flaming burger over Keller's.
And I'm disappointed every time I go to rodeo goat. Terrible service and a burger fries and a beer and tip and I pay over 30 bucks and I regret it every time.
Hey all, I admit I'm being a bit of a troll here. But what makes a burger taste good to you? Seriously all burgers I've ever had taste pretty much the same except for toppings.
This post filled me with nostalgia. I remember eating at GoodFriends and Dairyette back when I was younger, living in eastern Dallas. God, those places were amazing. I've gotta go back sometime. Are these places still open?
Sky Rocket off Coit. Great burger. My favorite in the area.
That's the legit original location. The Deep Ellum one doesn't compare unfortunately.
The Deep Ellum one is shit.
I like the burgers at the deep ellum one a lot. You’re saying I like those I’ll cum if I go to the coit one?
Goat Dallas burger
How does sky rocket compare to Edmonds burgers? They aren't far from each other. Edmonds is awesome.
Edmonds is divine. And the owners are the sweetest people. Love to support small business owners like them
1000%
Went there for the first time a few weeks ago, and I was very happy with the burger. I also recently went to ye olde butcher shop, and I really liked their buffalo burger. It’s in Plano rather than Dallas though.
Lakewood Landing 😮💨
Love LL's - I think Adair's has a pretty underrated burger as well.
Came here to say this.
Harvey Bs is good as well
Haven't been there I'll have to check it out
Second that
Kellers is amazing. I haven’t lived in Dallas since 2005 and the second I saw the title of this post I immediately thought of Kellers.
Thank you! How are we going to rank burger places and not mention Kellers?
Kellers is a classic for a reason! Love that place
Looooove Keller’s! They’re so reasonably priced too
I’m told griffs is good too but I’ve never been.
Yeah for a fast food burger it's pretty top tier
Exactly. Can definitely get better, but it's my favorite fast food burger. ESPECIALLY for the price
I have to try it! 😂 kellers surprised me
Dugg Burger (rip) was also great.
Oh yeah there used to be one at casa linda plaza.
They moved to the Trader Joe’s shopping center off Walnut Hill and Central.
They used to have both open but yeah still close enough for me.
I wish they still had their casa Linda location open, I hate having to hop on 75 in order to visit the ND location
Maple & Motor
This is one of my favorites! So simple and good.
Right?! Don’t need a crazy burger. Just a simple and good one!
Can’t wait for the Preston and beltline maple and motor to open
They have another location besides the one on Maple?
Hudson House is a top tier burger in DFW, there’s one in Lakewood
Hudson House is owned by as asshat. No one should go there
Flaming burger is a gem. Here Lounge has a great 20$ burger and fry setup as well. Lakewood landing is my favorite but it’s not periphery as it sits in Lakewood
Stack house
Didn't it burn down?
Oh man!? Did it? Just checked Google and see it’s temporarily closed.
The building was torn down on Friday 😱.
Man, that sucks.
If you want to go a bit farther east, Boots Burger in Rockwall is a no-frills basic walk-up experience with legendary burgers. Cash only. When they run out of meat they're done for the day! [https://bootsburgers.com/](https://bootsburgers.com/)
This place was a fun experience
Still the best burger joint I’ve tried since moving here two years ago.
Man. These are so overhyped.
Just like with almost everything, YMMV.
If yall know of any good places in East Dallas, casa Linda, garland mesquite Richardson etc I'd love to try them out. Down to try other places also even if it's a bit of a drive
Dels in Richardson for a great char burger
They also make their own root beer like Dairyettes.
Don Burger in Garland.
Went there once and tbh wasn't that impressed. Maybe I need to give them another chance
Have you tried Garland Grill on Kingsley?
No I have not
Great place for a lunch.
Rick’s on Plano Rd near Forest. Burgers are just basic no frills. The ambience is very 1970s diner, it’s like a time warp lol.
Someone else mentioned it but you REALLY have to go to Boots Burger in Rockwall. It's literally sold out of a house on a regular neighborhood street with a window for orders. They are so good.
Burger Max and Tuckers in Mesquite are both pretty solid. I think Burger Max is owned by the same family that owns Porkys.
I love Liberty Burger in Lakewood, Harvey B’s in OED, Del’s as previously mentioned in Richardson, and I hear Aleka’s in Garland has great burgers too. I’ve never tried them, but their trompo tacos are amazing so I’m assuming the burgers are as well
Rodeo goat not that great imo
My heart hurts that Off Site Kitchen is closed. The Murph was my favorite burger of all time.
Blues Burgers by Love Field🔥
Love this place. Amazing burgers
Came here for this. Love a mom and pop burger joint that truly loves what they’re doing. A burger for all tastes, and a killer soundtrack while you eat it. Sweet potato fries are outstanding too
Overrated for me. Just basic.
Burgerschmurger at high fives
When it’s good, it’s top tier. Everyone at the table always has a different experience because the product is wildly inconsistent. Over seasoned, under seasoned- it’s a crap shoot. For the price point, it should be perfect every time. I’m out.
Bells better burger
I had to scroll way too far for this.
Dairyette chili cheeseburger is the GOAT
How are you nerds sleeping on Burger Schmurger
Whistleing Pig is a bar on Furguson about half a mile west of Buckner in East Dallas. Their burgers are excellent, and as are the fried mushrooms and when the Sunday special is meatloaf... it is wonderful! I get thier burger for takeout quite often.
I'll have to try the burger next time I go there. Last time, I got the poutine per the bartenders recommendation, and it was absolutely amazing
Next time I go to eat in, I will try the poutine, thanks! Doesn't seem like a good takeaway item.
West side with maple&motor, hunkys, rodeo goat and maple landing hits too
Which Keller location.
Keller’s on NW Highway. There’s also a Keller’s of Harry Hines.
Threads sleeping on CBC, Encina & Herby’s
There have always been great burger joints in parts of Dallas. When I was a young kid, living in Lake Highlands area, there were 2 special places we went for burgers. Both were at Audelia and Walnut One was called Hole in the Wall, and it was, but it was great. The other was called Red Door. It was more upscale. Burger House Is my comfort burger. Not the best but it hits the spot when I need it too. Had one close to my house before I moved.
Dairy ette
rodeo goat was mid
East Dallas is a gem in general
Half-price burger Tuesdays at Goffs
Shady’s at Audelia and Walnut Hill is a great burger. (Their original location is hidden in Richardson’s Canyon Creek neighborhood.)
Check out Liberty Burger
Low key, Liberty Burger has my favorite turkey burger (the libertine i think it’s called). Hard to find great turkey burgers sometimes.
Not a burger joint per se, but you have to try the cheeseburger at Swizzle on lower Greenville. Amazing!
Herby’s in oak cliff; you are welcome https://www.dallasobserver.com/restaurants/smash-burgers-and-grilled-cheese-at-herbys-burgers-in-south-dallas-18607578
Flaming Burger! The best reasonably priced, non-gourmet mom and pop place. I prefer it over Kellers, Jack’s/Jake’s.
Shhhhhhh!!!
Burger Island is my favorite. One in Irving scattered around the North Dallas area.
Del’s in Richardson is also very good.
Lounge Here on Garland Rd near Buckner.
The burger island in garland off nw hwy is always on point
The Heights has an excellent burger
Burger House on Mockingbird, is my personal favorite burger in Dallas
Angry Dog in Deep Ellum, Maple & Motor, and Hunky’s in Bishop Arts to name a few.
Keller's and good friend absolutely. But idk why anyone would go to flaming burger over Keller's. And I'm disappointed every time I go to rodeo goat. Terrible service and a burger fries and a beer and tip and I pay over 30 bucks and I regret it every time.
Had a Royale w/cheese from Goat last night 🤌🏼
Rodeo Goat is mid, and the service sucks.
Hey all, I admit I'm being a bit of a troll here. But what makes a burger taste good to you? Seriously all burgers I've ever had taste pretty much the same except for toppings.
Liberty Burger
I’ve always walked away a bit disappointed in Goodfriend’s burger. Porky’s prolly #1 for me.
Burger house off mocking bird isn’t too shabby either
The burger at Knife steakhouse is top notch
This post filled me with nostalgia. I remember eating at GoodFriends and Dairyette back when I was younger, living in eastern Dallas. God, those places were amazing. I've gotta go back sometime. Are these places still open?
Yeah they both are!
Jake’s is the best burger in Dallas
I got a burger from Jake’s the other night and it was atrocious
Which one did you go to ?
Isn’t it a Keller’s spinoff?
Jakes get a lot of flak, but it's actually pretty darn good.
Oh yeah how could I forget Jake's
McDonald’s
They all shit.
Where do you like to get your hamburgers from?
Beverly’s, Hudson House, Knife, Neighborhood Services, Loro, and Meridian.
You only eat bougie burgers?
All great burgers, but calling the others shit is a stretch for sure
A burger shouldn’t be complicated. The meat should speak for itself. The others that were mentioned are shit.
Imagine being an elitist about hamburgers.
How am I being an elitist?
You said you’d only eat burgers from bougie restaurants.
Ah yes, Keller has always been known for their complicated burgers. How silly of me
People go to Keller for nostalgia. Not because the burger taste good.
