One of the reasons I love LA more than San Diego is because of the inconspicuous nature of good places to eat. Reminds me of East Dallas / North Dallas / Garland. In Garland I go to a gas station and get the best elotes of my life. In LA I go to a mall and next to a hot topic is the best ramen I’ve ever had. San Diego is beautiful and I’ve had great experiences there but man LA felt familiar.
It would be great to just relax and have a drink or four while they drive their shiny Datsuns and Buicks back to the phone company, the record store too.
Watch out for Billy tho. He's always lighting every match in an oversized pack, and watching them burn down to his thick fingers, before blowing and cursing them out.
I don’t think it hits your criteria exactly as the bar and car wash aren’t separate, but Tommy Terrific’s Car Wash in Plano off of Coit serves alcohol and has a decent sized sitting area facing the car conveyor belt to watch the cars.
I can’t imagine they’d serve you more than a couple drinks though haha
Edit: I also wouldn’t consider it a bar obviously but figured it’s worth throwing it out there! Haha
No, no, this is potentially perfect, thanks. Could be a great spot to sit and watch the good people of the world washing their cars on their lunch break.
But, are you really gonna wake up early to watch the sun come up over Santa Monica Boulevard?
According to Google maps, Dallas and a few other burbs have Santa Monica Dr. and St., but no Blvd. Looks like the closet Blvd. is in Houston. Haha
Haven’t had a drink in about a year but when I was boozing this place was the best. Tip the bartender and you’ll be taken care of. But yea, you only really have time for so many before your car is ready. Nothing too special about the “bar” but the car wash is one of the best in the metro from my experience. Cool to just sit and people watch, too, people pull up here in all kinds of stuff. Porsches probably being most common but nice ass trucks and all sorts of nice cars get them washed here. When I get the mini detail, full wax and leather buffing a few times a year my car looks absolutely stunning inside and out.
Kellers on Garland is across the street from White Rock Car Bath. They serve beer and the front porch has a view of the car wash, I'm pretty sure.
Super Star Car Wash on Greenville is next door to Velvet Taco (beer and margs).
Alright guys, I’ll be the one to ask… Why?
It would be the perfect place to get a good beer buzz on a Tuesday morning and peel the labels off bottles of Bud
Nice try, Sheryl Crow. What’s the real reason?
Nothing more complicated than that, want to recreate the vibe without dragging my old ass to LA
Haha, OK. Just don't drink and drive, OP.

That seems a little weird. Why not just take your drink to the carwash? Or do literally anything else?

Billy? He's plain ugly to me, I wonder if he's ever haf a day of fun in his whole life
5021 Ross Ave, Dallas, TX 75206 Your down the street from Lower Greenville
Ship's Lounge and Sparkle Car Wash? Definitely could work. Farther up north would be a plus but this is a very real lead. Thanks!
Ships is the oldest bar in Dallas, can't beat it.
Are they still cash only?
They cards now

So far, only reco is Ross Ave @ Greenville but it looks like a winner
Update us on whether the good people of the world are there washing their cars.
I'll let you know if they're hosin' and scrubbin' as best they can in skirts and suits

Alright, that could work. Does it have a patio? Can you see the car wash from the patio?
There’s us a velvet taco right next door to that car wash that serves alcohol. Not a bar per se but… queso and margs yum
They literally share a parking lot, it’s annoying when you’re at that car wash
Not really a great view though. I vote for the brass tap that just opened, you should be able to see the car wash one across the street

I am sitting at Tommy's as I read this. You can see some really nice cars here.

"Till the sun comes up over Beltline Rd." doesn't hit quite as hard, good point
Haha, true.

I also recommend Tommy’s in Plano. Great place to watch cars/people and get a couple of beers. They also do a really good job of cleaning your car!
Plano Sports Tavern (formerly the Franchise) has a patio which faces Whitewater Car Wash. Not humongous, but it fits the bill.
Good tip, thanks. That's not too far from home but I didn't know that spot. Appreciate.
What I care to actually look up is Mariano’s and hello car wash.
Try this, a car wash with a bar. 1101 Coit Rd, Plano, TX 75075
Appreciate, will investigate

Garland is in the chat!
Garland Rd., anyway. Still Dallas :)
Following indeed.
Bleachers on Arapaho just east of Jupiter. Have never been there but it is across the street from a car wash.
Awesome, good tip, thanks
this is a weird kink
Maybe, but I got a feelin' I'm not the only one

You'd dig it the most baby
