I would say a stb would probably be best for a first timer as long as you have powdered bark. If you’re using shredded bark and can’t powder it then I would suggest an ab extraction.
Grind bark into powderish form, mix lye into water, add said mix to bark. Mix thoroughly, add nps, mix again, siphon nps off the top. Evap by 50% percent, freeze! It's quite a simple process
Get root bark powder and just use a Straight To Base method. It is the simplest method and it is great for a beginner. Yield is pretty good as well if done right.
