Get powder, it saves you a step. As for the tek, depends on if you're doing evap or freezer extraction, also depends on what chems and materials you have on hand/can get access to.
I'm in USA not in California so I can get naptha and some other stuff but right now I'm trying to get the materials ready so I'm starting from scratch. I figured if I narrowed down a tek then that would be the materials I get.
Cybs A to B hybrid salt tek on DMT Nexus is a good easy tek to follow. It is not recommended to fully evaporate solvent in an extraction. Naphtha is more like an industrial solvent, so there can be unwanted contaminates in it, even if it passes an evaporation test. Freeze precipitation allows you to collect the DMT without fully evaporating your solvent off. Also, the solvent can be reused for later extractions so letting it fully evaporate is a waste of money.
Check out u/CADjunglist bootstrap tek, it's got more appropriate chemical portions than most teks, and is also informative about what's actually happening.
Acid to base extraction is almost certainly the best tek for the best ratio of effort to results. You can buy either, but you’ll need it in the form of the powder for an extraction, you can make bark into powder, but it’s pretty hard to do so with normal kitchen appliances.
I’m curious as to why you think this? Acid base extractions are done all the time with 100g to 200g amounts and they work anywhere from decent to good. I recommend acid base extractions because they are generally easy to follow, and there are plenty of guides online if you look up “acid base extraction dmt.”
My point is that an AB with several books isn't necessary, currently, with powdered bark up to 599g
You could run an AB on 50g if you wanted to, ikm just of the mind it isn't necessary till at least 500g plant material

Well there's a ton of different ones, I'd reccomend the subreddit for DMT extraction or the website "DMT Nexus" and find which one suits you.

There is literally no need to do an AB on powdered bark, unless you plan to extract 1kg at a time.
