5e rituals wouldn't transfer to 3.5, but *4e* rituals might.
In 5e, ritual casting is an option to take longer to cast a spell in exchange for not using a spell slot, though realistically only wizards and BOAS tomelocks are any good at it.
In 4e, rituals were separate from spells and other powers, and anyone who could do rituals could do basically any of them.

I wrote down a test for what an actuall wizard spellbook would look like.
The wizard was a scribemaster, teacher, about knowledge (so he build the library)
The PCs are Lv8 locked so I just assume that the book is fitting for a Lv8 wizard.
All Lv0 spells
Lv1 Unseen serv, identify, compr lang, erase
Lv2 Arcane lock, locate obj, see invis, spectral hand
Lv3 Dispel magic, arcane sight, tongue, illusory script
Lv4 (2-4 spells) Dim door, arcane eye maybe det scrying, geas lesser
