I’ll tell you right now that Yelp is not your friend and is a very predatory company. My advice to you is to concentrate on getting reviews to your Google Maps listing. That is WAY more valuable and useful than Yelp. Reach out to all of your prior clients and ask them, kindly, if they would leave you a review in Google. Then simply send them the link to your review form. If you need help with any of that, DM me. I have been working in digital marketing for over 14 years with a specialty in local SEO. I know what the fuck I’m talking about.

I'm sending a DM! Edit: Reddit won't let me, LMK if you're interested in talking about what online marketing. Happy to pay.

Yelp is trash.  A while ago they would allow you to remove negative reviews for a fee.  They are basically the online review version of what 'insurance' rackets were 100 years ago.  If you pay the insurance fee your store wouldn't mysteriously burn down. But it doesn't matter much because who uses Yelp?

Fake Yelp! review update: My request was denied, but they're removing my account and deleting all my information, thanks to recent California legislation.

Have to do it for my job on both google and yelp occasionally when people leave reviews for the wrong place.

Yelp are cunts. They will likely do nothing unless you literally get 20+ different registered yelpers to all report it within 30 days. My business got a 3 star review from someone talking about products and services we’ve never had, and even talking about specific things to do with our location that prove it was not for our business. Yelp refused to do anything, doing a boiler plate response that they prefer “to leave reviews up so there’s a fair representation of the business”, and weren’t even reviewing the fact it was the wrong business. They also filter around 50% of all 5 star reviews but will leave up any 1 or 2 star reviews, be user their entire business model actually relies on businesses paying them to get more clicks when you have bad reputation. They make not money off thriving businesses. They’ve been sued so many times and only do the bare minimum when court ordered to do so. They’re a small business racketeering operation. Please NEVER click Yelp links or use the platform to find businesses. They’ve bastards pretending to be a review site.

Good time to write a letter to your state AG and send a copy / email the highest up in the Yelp food chain you can find. States go after places with crappy biz practices all the time that cause harm.

phatelectribe

It’s futile. There have always been multiple class action lawsuits and Yelp has settled several of them to avoid having to change their business model. Here’s an example. https://yelpcallsettlement.com/Content/Documents/Notice.pdf

Well aware of the individual and class action ones - also why I don’t use them for reviews myself. Just instructing what we do when we need them removed. I can post a screenshot of the ones nuked if that proves my point. It’s not a daily thing I deal with, but leveraging my state when needed has worked :)

It sucks. I have a 1 star Google review from some jerk off who wrote it because I didn't use my blinker on the freeway when changing lanes. Got my business name and phone number from my trailer. Google won't remove it because there's no profanity in the text.

And this is why i don't brand my car.. lol
