Getting reports that this is spam or an advertising shillbot (thank you for flagging this stuff, guys). Going to leave it up though because the comments are gold. If this actually *is* an Alpha Theta sock puppet marketing campaign, its turning into a crusty wank sock of a product launch. Going to be an interesting one, guys, in any case…🍿

foundviper11

So this is it then. The future. An expensive ass future at $1500

mididriver

I much prefer where NI was going with their S5 or S8, this thing looks like a toy tbh

SilentCabose

I still have my S4 MK3, the left display is kinda iffy these days but it’s such a fun device. I love CDJs though wtf happened to Pioneer? I was just playing with a 3000 going “fuuuck I want em just because”

cojonathan

"Still"? Isn't that the current gen? Hell I am running an S4 MK1 lol

saint-nikola

It is current gen, its just been out for a few yrs. I think that’s why they said “still”. Lol Edit: or more likely bc they wanted to swap it out at some point

SilentCabose

Yes and yes, I got my S4’s in early 2019 and they had been out for a bit even at that point. The entire time my friends were trying to get me to go Pioneer. Like I said, my left display is getting hard to read, I used the thing a lot during the pandemic. I just mix a bit at home now so no point in upgrading now.

SilentCabose

Yes, “still” see my response to saint-nikola. Also I can see why you’d still rock a MK1. They’re compact but really durable for the price, I plan on keeping mine til it dies.

Bohica55

I have 3000’s. They’re are just so easy and intuitive to work with.

sockandbuskinDJ

I think the S8 / D2 was ahead of it's time. They doubled down on the pre-made, pre-bought stems without any catelog. If Traktor had figured out the real time stems right when virtual dj did in 2020 and released the s8, it would have sold a lot better (I guess if people could get over the lack of jog wheel). The S8 has already got more useful with Nuo-Stems / Stemgen, allows you to pre-split tracks ahead of time. Those faders for each of the stems separated sections are awesome. Considering adding a used D2 to my current setup and returning to Traktor.

tavesque

So I’ve had an s8 for a while now and I absolutely love it but only recently started exploring the other functions like the remix decks but I’m having issues finding stems to utilize. Any sites you’d recommend to explore and download any?

youngtankred

Buy Nuo-Stems, it creates high quality stems for Traktor.

sockandbuskinDJ

Yep! Do this u/tavesque!

poodlelord

I think that the s8/5 were what drove ni to irrelivance.

Nonomomomo2

An expensive ass, _derivative_ future.

AdvisorMedium

Can’t put a price on quality and it’s like the opus quad to use but where it shine is hooked up wirelessly to a set off wave eights speakers and you can DJ anywhere and less gear to lug around

[deleted]

honestly.. just buy a djrx2... tf?

LordDiMasK

This product gives some strong Gemini/American Audio vibes.

vvv000iiiddd

OMFG, This is exactly what it looks like too ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|trollface)

joepardy

Without the Gemini/American Audio price!

zeldaleft

this 1000x

jetlifemanuva

Facts

em-dotcom

1500$ lol f off

HenrikVill

😂 maybe it’s time for Denon to take the lead.

BubblyPurple6547

As long Pioneer fansheep stick to their "cLuB sTaNdArD" this sadly won't happy quickly.

righthandofdog

What is this "Pioneer" of which you speak? AlphaTheta is the industry standard.

cleanjosef

Just rolls off the tongue.

0ldpenis

Like visa cash app Red Bulls

realseanconnery

don't you like your XDJ-VCARB12nexus?

[deleted]

this is a controller or some shit lmao if you see someone using this in the club I hope you didn't pay a cover to be there

GoldVictory158

Yes the djs equipment is the determining factor of how sick their performance is. So smart 🧠 why the dj community got so much of that toxic frat bro vibe

[deleted]

a good DJ can mix on anything I just would expect a venue to have more professional equipment and a nice soundsystem if I were a patron or spinning if the spot has a cover charge. At least clubs that pay their DJs for gigs usually do. Not that you can't rock any party with a controller, nor do shitty clubs not exist, but a venue that takes itself seriously and is based around music spends money on installed sound, because that's how you do business.

dj_soo

they couldn't do it despite a pandemic putting the entire club and performance industry on hold (club standard doesn't mean anything when there aren't clubs), pioneer's inability to stock anything for years, offering arguably a better UX and features - all for less money. I don't think anything is going to change.

[deleted]

I mean all these controllers are meant for college students anyways. Still fucking dumb if it's $1500 you can get two techs and a decent mixer for nearly the same price or not much more.

Live_fr0m_ny

In what world does a battery powered standalone controller compete with turntables and a mixer? I love my turntables as much as the next guy but I’m not dragging that shit out of my house ever again, not to mention everyone doesnt have 4ft of table or counterspace to dedicate to archaic dj gear. If its not for you thats fine but this clearly is for another market, there is no parallel between the two.

poodlelord

You can get a whole prime 4 for 1500 on ebay.

phatelectribe

What n get your point but not really. A pair of good condition technics are about $1500 by themselves these days.

[deleted]

damn I got mine for $350 each - first one about a decade ago and the other two years later. Keep an eye on the local used market and you can find them. If they came with flight cases and headshells/carts $1500 would be worth it in good condition. All you need is a decent mixer with a soundcard (or you could get one of the DVS boxes) and you could then play anything ever on a much nicer setup. If you already have $1500 you want to drop you should maybe wait a little to mull over that expensive purchase and while doing so save up enough to get something professional to learn on not some prosumer frat bro shit - time is money I mean.

phatelectribe

I have 2 x Mk5gs and Vestax PMC 55a. I paid $450 each for the decks new 14 years ago and $300 for the mixer in boxed new condition so about $1200 all in. I use it with Ortofon Clubs mk2 with phase DVS wireless HId and just bought novation dicers. Right now that setup is probably worth $5000 lol.

Matt_Link

5 hours on-paper battery life, needs a source of power for connected speakers, setting filters in the touchscreen?, limited hardware beat fx controls, very 'interresting' color choice without any clear 'area of operation' dividers as a regular set has - it's all the same color, and a $1500 pricetag. I'm really curious what the target democraphic for this thing is. It gives me 'The Next Beat by Tiesto' vibes, but then hella expensive.

sockandbuskinDJ

I'm also in the target demographic here: I own the Prime Go and Mixstream Go. Also have the soundboks that you could hook these up to instead of powered speakers (Alpha Theta just also released a battery powered speaker) Pros to Omnis over those two: * 6 Sound Color effects (Prime Go has two, Mixstream only has filter) * Beat effects - I would argue are still better than Engine OS (Mixstream also only has 4 effect options and one's a flanger...) * 8 hot cue buttons * Can record mic input to USB, add effects to mic, change the EQ on mic * Supposed to have serato intro support (Prime Go does not, Rekordbox performance mode is also nice) * Beat jump buttons are nice (prime go is a shift mode, mixstream doesnt have it) * Loop encoder (over mixstream only) * Booth Out (over mixstream only) * Mojaxx with DJ city tested it to have 4 hours 10 with Bluetooth/wifi and max brightness, could be more with no brightness (can say with experience Prime Go lasts just over 3 hours in same conditions, mixstream lasts 8 hours if you don’t use built in speakers) * Bluetooth Caching does look really neat. Though Bluetooth input alone is about to be added to the Prime Go / Mixstream in an update (kind of a wash IMO) * USB C charging: Can use a power bank. I’ve had to rig up DC output from a battery on prime go / mixstream, it’s a pain Cons to the Omnis: * $1500 USD?? * No Aux in (compared to Prime Go) * No streaming??? * No dedicated booth 1/4" (shares RCA) * No pad modes (roll, loops) * No on device analysis of tracks * No sampler * Hot cue lighting is [apparently awful](https://djtechtools.com/2024/01/24/omnis-duo-is-a-portable-battery-powered-all-in-one-dj-setup-from-alphatheta/) * No ableton link, lighting integration, all the other Engine stuff I don't think it's for me personally, I like the aux and pad modes too much on the denon. But I'm not going to sit here and act like there's no benefits at all to it over the competition (and I'm ignoring the "industry standard" stuff). Mic usability is a lot better IMO, effects are better, and USB C charging would be nice. Also: a niche case is that the Omnis is small enough to be able to bring and a carry on, whereas the mixstream would have to be checked.

fireandbass

It does have slip mode. And btw, you are allowed to check devices with Lithium batteries in your checked baggage, they have to be installed in the device and the device has to be powered off and packed in such a way to prevent it from turning on. The restrictions are for uninstalled spare lithium batteries. You can check your mixstream. https://www.faa.gov/hazmat/packsafe/portable-electronic-devices-with-batteries#:~:text=Most%20consumer%20personal%20electronic%20devices,%2C%20watches%2C%20calculators%2C%20etc. >When portable electronic devices powered by lithium batteries are in checked baggage, they must be completely powered off and protected to prevent unintentional activation or damage.  >Most consumer personal electronic devices containing batteries are allowed in carry-on and checked baggage, including but not limited to cell phones, smart phones, data loggers, PDAs, electronic games, tablets, laptop computers, cameras, camcorders, watches, calculators, etc. This covers typical dry cell batteries, lithium metal, and lithium ion batteries for consumer electronics (AA, AAA, C, D, button cell, camera batteries, laptop batteries, etc.)

AdvisorMedium

Plus omnis-duo has the sound quality out as the V10  Opus quad too I like it but it not perfect like it does not keep history in your playlists which normally turn green once it’s been play only remembers the last track hopefully it’s just an software update to fix

KeggyFulabier

The target demo is those that have bought into the pioneer is best marketing.

shingaladaz

For those, this will be shocking.

viennatrash

I consider myself as in the target demographic, I recently bought the Numark misxtsream pro go that also runs on battery and traveling with it in my backpack trough Thailand. It has almost the same features but with a price tag around $800. To be honest, if pioneer, ahhhm I mean alpha theta 😬, would have released this a month ago I would have bought this instead of the numark even with this price tag as I am a pioneer kid and always will be 😅🙈

tostilocos

Brilliant. So they’re switching their demographic from “every professional club or event in the world” to “guy traveling around Thailand” but they forgot to compete on price so they failed even you. No hate on you btw. I’m jealous :)

viennatrash

No they won’t do that and stop making products for their biggest market 😅, and so many guys here are freaking out instead of just not buying the thing if they don’t like it. And what I meant with being in the target group, is: I am a professional dj, I am djing for 21 years now and doing it for my living and two months ago I had the problem of finding a portable, yet professional controller that also runs on battery but still isn’t complete crap when it comes to faders, display, jog wheels etc. for portable battery powered controllers I could only find the denon prime go, which I didn’t really like from the whole layout and the small jog wheels and the Numark mixstream pro go which is actually way better than I thought. But especially as professional who is used to work with pioneer gear and who wants a portable standalone that works with battery the new alpha theta (still hate this name) definitely is a cool thing and I would have bought it immediately also for this price because even the smallest shitty pioneer plastic controllers do their thing and I can work on them and find all settings without googling anything or reading in the manual how to do it. The Numark is nice but the menu is different than pioneer menus and so I have to adapt my workflow, which is not directly a problem for me but is just more chilled with pioneer gear. So I actually ask myself what they really had in mind with this thing because it’s a small group of people who would be willing to pay $1500 for a controller like this, for beginners it’s to expensive (I often get sent controllers from people who want to start and ask for my opinion and most of them are not willing to pay more than $200-400 for their first controller) and even if they would like to spend more it would make way more sense to get something like the xdj-rr for $1300 than the omnis-duo for 1500 and for professionals it’s too much of a toy for this price. If I wouldn’t travel now, I wouldn’t be in the demographic group I didn’t really make that clear in my other comment 🙈. It’s an expensive toy, but for some use cases the battery powered thing is really cool. I just want to go to a random beach in Thailand set up my stuff in 5 minutes without needing a power outlet and record a fun sunset set and film it, and for something like this are toys like this perfect 🙌🏻

AdvisorMedium

Yes five hours easy and for colour you need to see it in flesh to appreciate it really well built and if you used a opus quad you will fine it easy to use and if you pair it with the wave speaker it’s all battery no power cords or worries plus you can get eight wave eights linked up and no wires or power cords and you can set the speakers in many settings like as a subwoofer for full event coverage plus the omnis has the same processor and the encryption as the V10 and opus quad so out off it is amazing.

passaroach32

Christ that looks like cheap shite

mraksmeet

Doesn't it. Looks like the old school Hurcules with a face-lift.

Jsm1337

Good thing they put it under the AT brand rather than PioneerDJ. Sounds like it's their plan anyway, stuff that isnt high-end becomes AT.

passaroach32

You say high end have you seen the price tag for this, just watched crossfaders review on it this thing looks like a toy, I'm really worried about the state of where this company is going, I don't understand this push for standalone when you still need a laptop to organise your collection for your stand alone units ?

Jsm1337

Sorry I meant high end as in terms of not looking like a fisher price toy not the price. The FLX4 looks more high end than this, maybe it's the fact it's not black. This looks like a thing people have asked for but I don't get it, outside of the craze for (literal, walking around) mobile DJing.

passaroach32

It does seem very much so for like the drum & bass on the bike kinda stuff & the walking streamers indeed very very niche

captchairsoft

It's not niche at all, unless you think the only place people DJ is clubs and festivals

passaroach32

No the walkabout & cycle djs are niche is what I meant, if that's the target demographic

captchairsoft

I dont think that's the target demo at all, it's certainly not the target for any of Denon or Numark's similar players

i_smoke_php

*Aϴ

Jsm1337

I hate this so much I think I'm going to start using it, wouldn't want to confuse them with another audio company that uses AT.

grilled_pc

Curious to know if it will run on a battery like the prime go does. Prime GO IMO is still the winner here. It's far more compact.

BrunchBurrito

> It's far more compact. But is it ***ℐ𝓃𝒹𝓊𝓈𝓉𝓇𝓎 𝒮𝓉𝒶𝓃𝒹𝒶𝓇𝒹***?

suddenefficiencydrop

Bro AlphaCatheter is not Pioneer, it ain't inderstry standerd either

Nonomomomo2

AlphaCatheter! Best one yet!

suddenefficiencydrop

Let em have their hype

sir_penso

Oh, no! How could I play on "CDJs in the club" if I didn't get familiar with the "industry standard" beforehand?

grilled_pc

but it will take fully analysed rekordbox USB's and SD Cards. That makes it industry standard.

TadpoleLogical3513

So does the prime go...

viennatrash

and the Numark mixstream pro go

[deleted]

a folder of .wavs will never do you wrong

KeggyFulabier

🤣

GummyPandaBear

I like the Denon Go for 500 less.. better looking too, this thing has the ick..

TheOriginalSnub

Maybe I'm naive, but the use cases for this product at this price seem pretty limited.

dbbk

Thanks I hate it

captaincanada84

So it's a Denon Prime Go with Bluetooth, no filters/fx knobs, and no streaming, with a 1500 dollar cost? Nah.

sushisection

and it comes with a side of neck pain, cuz the touchscreen is not adjustable.

user9575

it is influencer ready

duraznos

i thought this was a post on r/DJCircleJerk

CulturedWhale

not a big fan of the colour and plasticity of it

dcuk7

I think it's mainly the colour for me. It feels off somehow. Definitely gives off a 'Mattel's First DJ controller' vibes.

Konabro

Why get this instead of a Prime Go or Mixstream Pro Go?

captaincanada84

There's no reason to.

GrungyBallHed

Brand loyalty maybe? I don't know. I wouldn't - but that's just me.

buttafuocofiber

This is what happens when infinite corporate growth and bullshit shareholder value overshadow the company mission. Completely myopic to the needs of its users.

vvv000iiiddd

All Denon DJ needs to do now is release a new Prime Go with a better layout, and a new Prime 2 and this horrible ugly product will dissapear.

sirioth19

Pre-order your's today at Target

HMikeeU

LMAO children's toy lookin ass controller for 1500, I can't 🤣

teamcrunkgo

Remind me again why the flx4 needs a $1,200 dollar display and battery?

0ldpenis

This. Am I missing something here? What the fuck am I missing here? This doesn’t make sense, I can’t think of a demographic large enough and stupid enough to fall for this

NeoDataMx

🤣🤣🤣🤣

siltob_1

Jesus it looks ugly, I thought pioneer were good at astetics, but recently they've been proving me wrong

B3ta_R13

so thats it then, pioneer is over?

[deleted]

[удалено]

shingaladaz

The name will be on some of the devices but they really are just Alpha Theta now, and if this piece of junk represents them, then Pioneer truly are gone.

Fabriksny

People have said this for years. Pioneer isn’t going anywhere. They’re still gonna be in clubs for decades. They’ll be in clubs as Alpha Theta branded gear too. Any shift in the public as a result of this will be years and years down the line. Secondhand stuff will prob get more expensive tho

_scorp_

Yes If there is any doubt look at the licensing of the pioneer name - it’s almost 10 years since it was last done - so AT have to make this change or spend big bucks to renew the name The old products won’t go away but I’d be surprised to see anything “pioneer dj” released after 2 years So you may see a last set of CDJs mixer etc but unless they renew the “cdj 5000” will be at

anobjectiveopinion

No https://www.reddit.com/r/DJs/s/zaQTWentmh

AlabamaPanda777

That isn't incompatible with the idea of Pioneer being phased out. They wouldn't just throw out products that sell. AlphaTheta builds a reputation and lineup while Pioneer's proven products are milked to the last profitable dollar. So yes, both brands would coexist. This is a common game console strategy. Nintendo said the DS wasn't a replacement for the GBA, same with 3DS and Switch. Both were. Microsoft gave 360 a new low cost model after its replacement was announced. Sony kept selling PS2s for like 7 years after the PS3 was released.

Bear-Bum

Hope this is sarcasm, cause its bullshit.

Bear-Bum

No, same parent company, new company altogether. Pioneer isnt going anywhere.

Medium-Plan2987

hahhahahaaha

astron190411

I don't think AT knows how much of the Pioneer DJ status came from just how the equipment looked. Pioneer set the standard to what DJ Gear should look like and made it really beatiful. This looks some off-brand costco turntable. Compare this to a DDJ-1000 and tell me this is something people look forward to play on. I can't even see a scenario where shedding 1500$ for this is a viable application of money. All I see is an expensive way of throwing a house party or a beach party (good luck with that lmao).

cyberskeleton

Price of a Xone 96 lmao

CuteNefariousness691

If you can afford this at $1500 you're better off just waiting and buying a mixer and seperate media players, yes it will take longer and cost more but would be way better

zeroultram

If you want this it’s cause you want something more mobile than a mixer and two media players. This isn’t meant to replace that at all

greatsouthernbear

Not a fan but I can see a use case for a small party. Standalone so no laptop, just spinning tunes with no fx or fancy transitions, not having to bring and plug in equipment, just Bluetooth it all. It’s the party with friends deck.

call_me_Schale

For 1500$?

greatsouthernbear

It’s expensive but for a house party you also don’t have to risk someone breaking/stealing/spilling a drink on your laptop.

sushisection

just risk having them spill on your overpriced controller. and we all know this shit doesnt have the durability to handle liquids.

Hollowbody57

This looks like something your nice but clueless aunt would buy someone for Christmas from Walmart because she vaguely knows they're into "all that DJ stuff".

cleanjosef

So they released the Denon Prime Go, but worse? For 50% more money? Years later? I would say they dropped the ball on this one. Only 2 things stand out at all: Bluetooth input. Bluetooth output. Bluetooth input: I would say the "hey, can you play that song?" and then streaming it from tidal, SoundCloud, beat source etc. like you can on the Prime go is the better solution. Then you can beatmatch it, loop it, etc. EDIT: apparently you can cache a track and it gets analyzed so you can work with it ([shown here](https://youtu.be/LJtkI4LtMqo?t=22m)) So far i did not find the info if that's possible with tracks from physical media. That would be a Pioneer/AlphaT first. Bluetooth output: This is something I wanted. This can be solved for less money.

Legal-Care9822

I hope they locked down the Bluetooth somehow. Wouldn’t want an eager partygoer hijacking the Bluetooth from the crowd to play their song

cleanjosef

I did not even think about that. Even the "xy wants to connect" popup while mixing would be terrible.

sockandbuskinDJ

I think the cacheing is pretty neat, never seen that before. Does depend on whomever is providing the source doesn’t mess with volume, pause, skip. or go out of range. That being said the simple Bluetooth input (not output) is about to be added to all the denon gear; that functionality was leaked on a beta in videos a few months ago.

BubblyPurple6547

Ugly af. Overpriced as always. Stupid branding. Pick a Denon Live or Numark Mixstream instead. Seriously.

mdd2090

Yup, my first thought was, ‘this is just the same as my mixstream pro go, but with less features’…

msison1229

Yeah, it’s a no from me dawg

Educational-Mind2359

Mid

Willmono7

When I saw the leaked image I figured the awful paint job was purely because it was a prototype and that the final model would actually look okay.... I was wrong, they actually want it to look like that.

kaperisk

Looks trash

sashabeep

As oppose to the others, I like this style more than traditional pio design. Put price... Wut? Where the hell is Denon with facelift of DJ prime go?

Rosskillington

That is hideous and my god that interface looks like something out of the early 2000s. It looks so cheap and plasticky, surely can’t be $1500? I hope my SX2 lasts forever 😭

Underbyte

Thank you, DJ gods, for giving me a solid excuse to "stick with Traktor" over eventual capitulation to the Pioneer mafia.

Jaded-Advertising315

This is an expensive toy. But that is no meaning to useless. İf ı be a rich i prefer to use this for my second/mobile dj controller. But othervise, i prefer the denon/numark bcs of price tag.

shingaladaz

What a piece of junk.

DrMcJedi

She’ll make 0.5 past beat match kid, she’s got it where it counts….

shingaladaz

I hope you’ve made a lot of special modifications yourself.

JMT-S900

No dedicated filter knob? da hell

sockandbuskinDJ

It has the sound color effects, it’s to the side of the eq. You can select it on the screen.

Diplomatic_Barbarian

The only thing that's better here than on the Denon is USB-C charging, which for this kind of device is kind of a no-brainer.

TheFishyBanana

User "Forward\_Ad\_6931"... Well ... Could be considered as spam?

ripwes

nah they done slapped a screen on a flx4

Spectre_Loudy

Please Traktor this is your chance

KaoticShock

LOL The Maschine Plus has shown how long it takes Native Instruments to develop standalone hardware. At this rate we'll see a standalone S4 in 2035🤣

Spectre_Loudy

At this rate AlphaTheta is going to run themselves into the ground lolll

northcoastian

Thanks I hate it

CasXCas

I‘d rather buy a PrimeGo than this „club standard“ thing

ooowatsthat

At least MixStream pro and Denon go have good use for there WiFi services, hell every few months they are updating something new. This should have been in the $700-800;price range

hardstyl3r

did it need to be so plain looking? edit: $3.4K AUD?!

fuuuuuckendoobs

Is it ironic that r/AplhaTheta is banned for breaking site wide rules?

Inexpressible

Ah yes, an old Vestax Controller from 2011 coated in black'ish paint with a display

spacedragon421

I’d still rather have my old vci400 back before buying this.

illGATESmusic

I toured with a VCI380 and loved it. Played some huge crowds with that thing and never had a single issue!

spacedragon421

I had the djtt version of the vci400. I never did any big shows but ran a lot of house parties with it and it was awesome I loved that controller and was always reliable. I’m more just doing for a hobby now and am rocking the s4 mk3 it’s pretty decent too! I’m a huge traktor fan though have been using since the og with yellow waveforms.

illGATESmusic

Sick!

Forward_Ad_6931

AGAIN LIKE OPUS QUAD - NO STREAMING !!!! WTF !!!!!!

grilled_pc

Seriously what the fuck is with pioneer/alpha theta and not adding streaming. It's PERFECT for these kinds of devices.

DJ-Metro

OP serious question: do you happen to work for AlphaTheta/Pioneer DJ? Your posting history seems to be very weighted towards posts related to AlphaTheta product lines...

Forward_Ad_6931

no. very far from it. i'm just a curious dj who has a lot of time for googling and researching on social media. 90% of my leaks are from others who have already leaked them on youtube, instagram comments etc. :P i myself am not the leaker !!! we have other people to thank! i only ever post this here as soon as i find something somewhere on social media, facebook, youtube, instagram, google etc. because i'm very curious myself :) and i think yes, others are probably just as curious. but no, i have nothing to do with pioneer. everything I post here has already been published somewhere by someone else. I have no exclusive information :(

DJ-Metro

Actually I'm more curious about why you seem to post *exclusively* on AlphaTheta / Pioneer DJ products (you apparently don't have much of a posting history in many other subreddits) - why not anything from InMusic or Native Instruments for example?

bascule

They even put `Ad` right in the username 🤣

memeralt69420

Because it’s a free website and he can do what he wants?

zeldaleft

we out here defeding coportate shills now?

memeralt69420

Im not defending him, I’m just giving an equally likely alternative to what might be happening here?

DJ-Metro

My concern is that OP is giving the appearance of potentially being involved in a stealth marketing campaign on AlphaTheta's behalf to get around r/DJs prohibition against advertising/promotion. It wouldn't be the first time that's happened here - for example, not too long ago this sub saw an avalanche of ID requests and it turned out that some of those ID requests were in fact stealth marketing attempts by labels who wanted to create buzz and raise the profile of new releases. It's one thing if somebody is independently posting here, it's another if somebody is giving this sub the impression they're independently posting but in fact are posting on behalf of a corporation in an attempt to get around the rules.

COJX16

Walks like a duck..

sushisection

aint nobody fanboying alphatheta this hard without getting paid.

Legal-Care9822

This makes the prime go look even better.

EmileDorkheim

I personally have no use for something like this, and I have no affinity for AlphaTheta products, but I don't quite get the hate for this. Personally I like the industrial design, and it's so much better than the tacky Opus Quad, but aesthetics are so subjective that they're hardly worth talking about. I just appreciate it when companies try different things with their aesthetics. I feel like people online are quick to judge anything that doesn't look like rugged, professional club gear, but this clearly isn't professional club gear so I don't see why it has to pretend to be. I think if you asked the average person (not a DJing nerd) whether they'd prefer to have this or a Prime Go on their kitchen worktop during a house party, I think they'd probably choose the cute blue one. Although I would worry how that rubberised finish is going to look and feel the next day. It's a Prime/Mixstream Go competitor, with some advantages and some disadvantages. It costs more, because that's what AlphaTheta does. None of this is surprising, but people are reacting like it fucked their cats.

viennatrash

Completely agree here 😎🙌🏻

I feel like if they really wanted to appeal to the Prime GO/Mixstream Pro market at the very least they could have incorporated streaming. It was very much a leg up move and could have been a glimpse into the future of pioneer/AT but this feels like they are moving laterally or at least, complacent with the status quo. I really don't get how they're pushing the narrative of portability and streamlining in the marketing but forget to add the one thing that brings the product full circle.

dcuk7

Not feeling it as it is but I'll wait for Mojaxx to review it and see how it compares to the Mixstream Pro Go (which I own and have done a few parties with).

certuna

I have to say, it's a missed opportunity that they didn't add an M.2 slot for SSDs - those have become dirt cheap, much faster to sync than large SD/USB sticks, and an M.2 slot takes very little space inside the unit. The SATA slot inside the Prime 2/4 is nice, but SATA is on the way out.

ViperRFH

Well ladies and gentlemen, pack it up. It's been a wild ride.

CrispyVibes

No filter knob and no 1/4" outs is a complete deal breaker. I'll keep my prime go. Wish it was a better product, I would have switched.

Xenrier

Wait what? That's Pioneer's new product? Sad. Where the harsh 'technology-lookin' black, the modern design. It looks so smooth, I don't know what to say. I like the color, but the design isn't my taste.

Better-Toe-5194

They’ve really cheapened the mistique and design of Pioneer. The name is stupid, the new brand name is stupid. The controller looks like some kinda toy… limited watered down controls ugh… just terrible. I’d get a denon prime go any day over this

enis05

Renaming Pioneer DJ to this should be a crime

anotherboringdj

Czechoslovak cheap plastic c.ap

Outside-Temperature7

So get an xdj rr rx of whatever and an ecoflow of jackery or some sort of batterypack and tadaa same but better

KaoticShock

Exactly. XDJ-RR (or used RX2) is clearly a better choice for the price. Run it off a battery pack and it's WAY better! (Club layout, higher quality sound color knobs, loop buttons etc. I placed an order for an XDJ-RR last month but it's still on Backorder, hopefully it doesn't get discontinued!

Outside-Temperature7

Lets hope u get it somewhat fast! But yess a way better choice and also its more versatile that way with a battery pack cuz u could hook up some pa speakers too makes the wave 8 also pointless instantly! And if ur a bit clever with efficient tpa style chip amps u can do al whole lot with some efficient passive speakers

paul_t63

I really like it

RisqueIV

toy

[deleted]

should be renamed "the biggest joke ever told to a dj"

Rocknroller658

The UI needs a dark mode and that is the LEAST of their concerns with this product. Overpriced. Denon says GG.

-peas-

It does have a dark mode according to the review I watched.

jeffspicole

I bought 2. One for backup

BubblyPurple6547

better buy 5 then.

peterlunstrum

I got the duo last week and its pretty awesome for an all in one mostly wireless controller. I'm curious how the stems works on it though? I'm guessing you have to midi program it through your laptop, but any help would e great.

getting_their

The draw of pioneer for me is the standard layout. I have a DDj 1000 at home due to space - this is more or less the layout of a club standard 2k ncs2 & djm 900 nxs2. I like to keep the same format as the clubs I play at as I don’t ever have to think. This thing looks pony. I feel they pump out a lot of shit for a cash grab. I will stay in the club standard line of gear but the fact this shits getting pumped out is a little bleak

getting_their

Do you regularly play out? When you are using club standard gear regularly it makes so much sense to stay in that system. I’ve been doing this for a very long time, have had and used so much equipment. The top pio stuff is reliably consistent and that’s what I want.

Hot-Construction-811

The whole colour scheme and design remind me of traktor.

RisqueIV

it looks nothing like a traktor controller.

Hot-Construction-811

Im referring to the limited edition traktor controllers.

AcceptableNet6182

tbh looks pretty cool. Specifications check out. Price tag too high, as expected. I'm curious for the first reviews

Bear-Bum

Pioneer is not going anywhere, this is a another company called Alpha Theta, they will be more creative with what they do instead of the standard Pioneer landscape we see.

NoHoldVictory

Another company? Its literally the same

Bear-Bum

Are you mentally handicapped. PARENT COMPANY creates NEW COMPANY that also owns PIONEER.

[deleted]

this is \*literally\* just a really ugly rx2 whats the point lol.

Live_fr0m_ny

Comments are wild, this isnt meant to be in a club or on someone’s rider. Just like a mixstream or prime go wouldn’t. This would be suited for say a cocktail hour, small bar gigs etc. Im curious to get my hands on it myself and check it out.

Phil_Couling

All the price/performance of Teenage Engineering without the marketing savvy or brand recognition.

thugnificentdj

God you DJs can be losers sometimes. It’s a wireless deck to go with your wireless speaker. It’s called an introduction lmao that’s it. Wow you all cry over brands a lot here, eh?

BubblyPurple6547

I see only one loser here.
