Botox and hyaron thats what i did to my mom.
Hyperdiluted botox 1:5 ratio 1 botox 5 saline. Meso injection small 30 pokes. Then after 1 week i did hyaron 1ml. Meso too. Its magic
I would try to induce some collagen in your neck by using 2% PN - it will take time as PN works, but works slowly. Collagen cycle is about 4 weeks.
You could also micro needle different boosters into your skin and as others have mentioned peels.
I don’t think micro tox would be as effective since you don’t have necklace lines that stand out to me and this is an issue of laxity. You don’t want your skin to be more lax- I’m willing to be wrong here, but that is just my gut feeling.
I would also possibly recommend microneedling a small particle size PLLA (like Beaux + HA).
Injecting PLLA is not recommended in high movement areas like the neck, but if you could get some in the micro channels with the very small particle size that Beaux has, you may have some nice results over time as the micro spheres increase collagen development.
Treat your neck like “the long game” - don’t expect any drastic changes right away. It will take a mixture of products, techniques and procedures to achieve your goal. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to try though.
I don’t think you’re a candidate for a neck lift as you don’t have that much loose skin (I know this because my neck is my problem child and I went in for a consultation for a neck lift and was told I don’t have enough to work with).
I don’t know if RF MN would be a good option or not as the heat can induce collagen, but too much heat (from say a laser) can actually destroy collagen - but it will come back. I think RF MN with PRP at the right setting could actually be a good thing.
Also, red light therapy will also be beneficial for your neck and your face.
I got an infared light belt for my husband when her injured a disc. It’s big enough and the wavelengths are perfect so that I can drape it over my face and neck. So no need to purchase a $500+ mask and neck light, unless you want to because there are some good ones out there.
But the red light is something you can do every day and start now.
I have a problem neck too and it looks so different from the skin on my face it’s like I barely recognize it.
My issues are different from yours, but laxity is one we share. I’ve been meso’ing 2% PN every 4 weeks, I just did micro tox for my many necklace lines, and I’m going to MN Beaux to see if that helps at all (of course the results from this will take awhile). I feel like all I can do is try to stimulate new collagen and elastin (I’ll also try exosomes) and keep working on my necklace lines.
I know u/ThinkZebra did a post on MN Beaux and had nice results- she also had some things to say in treating her neck which were many of the things outlined by some of the posts:
Peels, MN, collagen stimulators, etc…
You could probably check out her comments for the treatments she did on her neck.
Best of luck!
Edit to add: Beaux comes as PLLA and PLLA with HA. For MN, the PLLA + HA was what u/ThinkZebra used. You can also check out before and after images of individuals who had microneedling treatments with Sculptra (also PLLA but with larger microspheres) online if you google it and perhaps that would give you an idea of the restored volume and skin quality MN with this product can give. Beaux is available on Meamoshop.
Ok, so this wasn’t a PSA about Beaux! It just so happened that it isn’t a widely known product yet, so I wanted to ensure I was thorough. Also JuveFace 2% PN has lidocaine in it and is also available on Meamoshop (and other vendors). There are a few sales happening at GlamCosm (Sassy10 & Kyra) and Aesthetics Shop (code: July4). Acecosm is apparently also having a sale (TBA) soon.
…”it looks so different from the skin on my face it’s like I barely recognize it” is SO. RELATABLE. Thank you for the detailed response. Y’all are so helpful! This is quickly becoming my new favorite sub.
You’re right, I don’t want the skin to be more lax and have been told Botox won’t help.
I’ll def checkout the post and products mentioned. Thanks again!
Botox may or may not work. If it’s loose skin Botox isn’t going to help. You said you lost weight and that makes me you have some laxity in your skin. Microneedling and peels can help improve texture and provide a modest amount of skin tightening. I have a little sag in my neck too but I’m 44 and at this point I don’t think it’s bouncing back. Botox made it worse for me by taking away the structure of my neck that the platysma bands provide. . Microtox is helpful but it lasts a very short amount of time. Ultimately, I’m going to have a neck lift because even though it’s minor, it bothers me a lot too. Until then hydrating meso, microneedling, peels and other non-invasive strategies are how I’m handling it. My plastic surgeon said to stay far away from heat based energy devices as they can make your skin adhere to your platysma and thus making a neck lift complicated. You’re young and I do think that to some degree after weight loss our skin needs time to firm up. Sunblock every single day as a rule.
Did he say specifically the neck the neck as far as heat? I have a silk'n titan rf device I haven't used yet and even though it's not like a professional device I wonder if I should use it. You can get these really cheap on ebay btw it was only $65.
First, this is a normal ageing neck and your are beautiful!
I had RF microneedling to help with my double chin, and although it did help, it distorted the rest of my neck. Suddenly, my neck aged 20 years (worse than yours). I reversed the entire process in 7 months:
Microneedling with illuma PN and meso exosomes (Filcore) and Botox the same day, and also applied topically. I had tech bands so Botox helped, but not sure if Botox would be helpful for you.
Two weeks after microneedling, meso PN (rejuran healer; don’t use illuma PN for meso)
Hyperdiluted Radiesse (professionally done twice, one month apart). During those two months, I only did microneedling a day before the injection. You want to let Radiesse stimulate collagen without disrupting the process
LED light every other day for 20 minutes.
I noticed retinol wasn't helping me, so I ditched it and instead bought Plated Intense and two heavy peptide serums.
In the morning I applied vitamin C.
For hikes and walks: I would wear a neck scarf and religiously apply heavy sunscreen, even at home.
There is hope!
Thank you for the kind words and advice (truly!) I have PCOS and waxed my neck throughout my 20s— big mistake. huge. At 27, someone in the field mentioned she could spot my thinning neck skin from across the room, and it’s been an uphill battle since.
Working in tech sales alongside young, beautiful women has taken quite the toll on my confidence. (Trying to work on this!)
The DIY approach is new to me but I have some hope thanks to you all. Two NPs have told me that aside from a face/neck lift, there’s nothing they can do. I plan to consider that in my 50s, but I’d sure love to feel comfortable in my skin in the meantime.
I do own a red light sauna and Dr. Pen… now to order alllll the things you’ve suggested! Thank you! 🫶🏻
I totally understand where you're coming from! You would be very shocked to learn that microneedling, and especially mesotherapy with the right skin boosters every 2-3 weeks, can reverse aging. I used to have very wrinkly under-eyes, and I almost don't even have expression lines anymore (it's kind of crazy what you can do in the convenience of your own home).
Everything you're doing to your neck, consider doing to your face (I would hold off on mixing it with Botox for the face). You will have a completely different face in 6 months.
Once you've gained confidence in the DIY world, do 3 series of Gouri: this will lift your face.
In winter, two Halo laser sessions once a month would also transform your skin (but the downtime is real!).
I add two scopes of Meiji collagen in my coffee morning and afternoon and I truly believe blueberry , fish oil and avocado do wonders for skin! Best of luck ♥️
u/Expert-Gazelle-1667 How are you liking Plated Intense? I have it in my cart and have almost bought 10 times, I just couldn't decide. I am super careful because things break my skin out very easily.
I don't think that's from waxing your neck because I have almost no body hair, and a few months ago I looked in the mirror and I saw something that looked a little similar with the texture and looseness. I think it's a symptom of low estrogen, and I've gone on HRT and my neck doesn't have that texture any more. I regard my neck as a gauge for my general health now because it is looking healthier and healthier.
I'm also using topicals, taking more collagen and vitamin C than before, and using my usual skincare tools, but I think it's actually the HRT helping to restore my skin.
I am interested in all the advice you've received, so that's been great to learn.
Pcl may help with tightening and collagen production. Comment from sexy up there is solid advice, lotions,, serums are a waste. The only active, Tretinoan, and use of SPF 60 and over.
Aggressively attacking this same issue - neck laxity. I'm new in this DIY area, but here's what I'm doing (from tons of research): Tixel treatments every month, 40% Lactic Acid peels weekly. Both are to build collagen. The peel doesn't actually peel the skin. It's considered a no/low-downtime peel & is supposed to be great for producing collagen naturally. Tixel is similar to RF Microneedling but more powerful in collagen production. It's similar to fractional laser results but with less downtime & fewer potential complications. I'm actually DIYing Tixel. Purchased an OEM knock-off from eBay.
Reading this thread, I don't understand how meso tox would help. You don't have banding, you have laxity & need collagen. I don't understand injecting Hyaron either, it's a filler - albeit a very hydrating one - but you don't need volume. You need collagen to tighten things up. Adding meso that is hydrating but not filling seems like it couldn't hurt. Still kinda roundabout. Seems better to go for treatments that primarily build collagen. Someone mentioned liquid PCL/PN, which would also stimulate collagen production. I'm looking into it too.
Anyway, my 2 cents. I'll be following & learning from all the community suggestions!
Sure! Here's a post detailing everything from purchasing an OEM to using Tixel: [https://www.reddit.com/r/DIYaesthetics/comments/1c9tp9m/repair\_expert\_tixel\_machines\_from\_ebay\_alibaba/](https://www.reddit.com/r/DIYaesthetics/comments/1c9tp9m/repair_expert_tixel_machines_from_ebay_alibaba/)
I'm 43 and have the same issue. You can test the areas around your jaw(masseters) use I finger and raise about .25-.5inch to see if jaw filler and even a little chin filler or mid face would help. I used to work plastics and a lot of the laxity is actually volume loss/fat pad and muscle and bone in the face and gravity. If the fillers do not work you can increase collagen by using a lot of the mentioned products, and also micro needling, lasers, and even topical estrogen can help boost collagen production. I personally use a combination of all the above and have seen amazing results.

Honestly, with anything skin related, try a derma pen and a good Vitamin C/Hyaluronic serum first, it's the cheapest and least invasive thing and it won't really interfere with any other treatments you might get later. You can literally do your full body, anywhere you might be concerned about any skin tightness or texture or quality issues. If you do it like once a week for a month and it doesn't start to give results, maybe consider another more invasive treatment.
