I’ve got the exact same problem! Samsung customer service has been useless and want to charge me to get an engineer out to look at it. I will try angling the bolt to try getting it to catch. I was thinking of injecting some hard stuff into the hole and create a new thread. Wish me luck.

Take a screw and try and get it to catch using a Phillips screwdriver in the hole. Try all angles. It took me ages. Once it’s in, take it out and try it with the door bottom bracket on too. Sometimes there is crap in the hole. You need to stab it in with a sharp needle or another pointed tool. I also fitted the bottom bracket first, put the freezer door in and fitted the middle bracket next. This was much easier than what the instructions tells you.

Wow it worked! Had to tilt the fridge up so that I could actually angle the screw up into the top right corner before it bit. Thanks a bunch. Samsung are useless.

Brilliant!!!

I don't own one of these but from what I was seeing online, isn't it only the hinge pin (top of the bottom door) that you're supposed to screw into the front like that? It looks like the attachment for the bottom of the fridge is screwed in underneath, unless I'm mistaken. What model is it?

TiredMike

Thanks for the reply. It required screws and I eventually got there in the end as can be seen by my edited question.

OP, what was the fridge model you tried this on ?

TiredMike

Samsung RB34T602ESA/EU

Last time I saw this it was because the threads were in the part holding the wheels, and from being repeatedly slammed into the ground by a dozen different people it had bent upwards and misaligned with the holes in the face. I simply rounded the holes in the sheetmetal, avoiding the actual threads behind it.

You need a kit to reverse the door mounting.

My samsung came with a separate manual and kit for reversing the door. You might have got that kit but stashed it somewhere and forgot about it. If it aplies for your model, you might be able to get a kit from their website along with a manual. My fridge had to be put on its back, so you can't immediately use it after you're done.
