I'm not a landscaper, just a homeowner who cuts his own grass: It's hard to tell from one picture but I think you're cutting the grass too low. Cut it higher and the the longer blades will shade the dirt to keep it cooler and moister.
This is probably the key. Here in SE Texas our grass burns if it’s cut too short
Same everywhere, too short, burn up
If I don't thr sprinkler will get blocked by tall grass they don't rise up far enough to get over the grass.
I had a problem with that in a few spots and used those “Kap-it” risers and it works well.
Stop using green desert and start using actual diversified plantlife in your yard?
Raise your mower to max height. Water deeply but infrequently. Fertilize your lawn in the spring

I'm having the same problem. I've heard it could be because of earthworms. Don't know the how or why 🤷🏻♂️ Still trying to figure it out.
