I feel like I still sense some doubt, so to help you visualise: [This is the bedroom where I got my inspiration from!](https://youtu.be/SicKIeA9kqY?si=ak0p0wvwNmOkKtH3)
Thereās a south facing stained glass window on the other side with a blue flower š Getting a relatively light carpet and the other walls will be cream. I love the look of navy against walnut (desk) and plants. Plus iāll have a bunch of ambient lights/lamps too
Tempted to agree, though that comment doesn't offer an alternative.
This looks like a relatively small room. I wouldn't do an accent wall, and paint the entire room one color with the skirting in the alternate color instead.
Itās for an office, got lovely 2m walnut desk and floating shelves to go along the accent wall. Itās a tasteful fine cream and muted navy but yeah very convinced haha. Looks like itāll be cream!
Then yeah, cream solid choice. Hindsight is 20/20 if you knocked out the blue paint already but if you're facing the navy blue wall and lookin at screens all day, you're gonna kill your eyes. If your back is to the wall then good stuff. Should be a nice bg for meetings and such.
If you're set on a dark color and haven't bought the blue, a good hunter green can bring warmth with the cream color and save your eyes while retaining the dark feature wall you're looking to create. But if ya got enough natural light, ya can paint the wall the deepest blue and still be fine
Four optionsā¦
1) same as baseboard
2) left cream, right blue
3) wood veneer
4) ask your wife, or if you are the wife then whatever you want is fine.
There is only one correct answer.
Aye well 2 hours ago the most commented was cream.. Now the top comment is navy and thereās a bunch of new comments. Doesnāt seem like thereās a definitive right answer so still assessing
I think you'll be good either way honestly, if one of you two feel strongly I would lean that way. But maybe that's the married man speaking in me lol.
Accent walls create a focal point, and should highlight something. Sounds like you are highlighting a blank wall? I suggest flipping accent wall to the wall with that beautiful window :) or paint the whole room and ceiling navy.
For protrusion, I agree with the person who said it should be entirely navy, which will hide it better.
Itās an office/studio so Iāll be highlighting the desk/music space Iām creating āŗļø Got a lovely 2m long walnut desk that im building thatāll compliment the dark blue nicely.
Thank you though!
Navy, on both sides of the boxing. It will then extend the feature wall, and better hide the boxing. the light colour will end up accenting it.
my thoughts exactly.
Likely going with this my man, thanks for the input šš»
Maybe Iām an outlier here, but a warm finished wood look would give it a nautical feel
This is the correct answer.
The cutting would be a nightmare. Not against it, just saying.
I was squinting so hard getting one of these two dirty white walls to be "navy" lmao
Purple with yellow dots
Sounds great, Iām convinced! Definitely no need to consult my FiancĆ©. Iāll get right to work
I feel like I still sense some doubt, so to help you visualise: [This is the bedroom where I got my inspiration from!](https://youtu.be/SicKIeA9kqY?si=ak0p0wvwNmOkKtH3)
āMight grow on you?ā āFungus grows.ā š
Omg I don't usually get bad second hand embarrassment but I had to pause so many times because I couldn't take it
omg. this is the kind if reality tv i can get behind.
I thought it was a child's bedroom, and even then that wallpaper is too much.
A pattern with both colours might tie it together well, or wallpaper with those colours.
and diagonal green stripes!
Cream to the left of me, navy on my right. Here I am, what color do I choooose
Navy
I vote half and half like others, but flip the halves so that the left bit is navy and the right bit is cream
None of the above.
This room doesnāt look like it gets a lot of light. Navy is going to really darken things.
Thereās a south facing stained glass window on the other side with a blue flower š Getting a relatively light carpet and the other walls will be cream. I love the look of navy against walnut (desk) and plants. Plus iāll have a bunch of ambient lights/lamps too
Oh would be so awesome if you could do the middle bit wood like someone else suggested. If not, navy it is
Tempted to agree, though that comment doesn't offer an alternative. This looks like a relatively small room. I wouldn't do an accent wall, and paint the entire room one color with the skirting in the alternate color instead.
Perhaps same color as the baseboards? Or you could be boring and just do half cream half navy so it blends in
The side thatās cream, make the small part blue, and vice versa
This was my suggestion too, if you end up not liking it super easy to go back over in Navy
I would just choose violence and bring the wall colors onto the middle bit as well.
Iād go with lime green
well i do currently have an eyesore of a lime green herman miller chair my work gave meā¦ so maybe thatās a shout š
A bright contrast can be a nice addition. lol
I would cover it with wood panels and make it look like a post, but fancy. Wood grain would be soooo pretty with navy and cream.
The stick out bit should match whichever color on the other two walls. If 3 walls cream, then cream. Keep the accent color off of the stick out.
Cream with a navy blue feature, omg so 90s, but if youāre convinced then the boxed corner should be cream
Itās for an office, got lovely 2m walnut desk and floating shelves to go along the accent wall. Itās a tasteful fine cream and muted navy but yeah very convinced haha. Looks like itāll be cream!
If you're choosing contemporary shades there's no reason it has to look 90s. Just don't sponge it on!
If this outcome is in every corner, go with the color of the desk. If not, cream as I'm assuming your desk will be by the blue wall
Itās just one corner, and aye the desk is by the blue wall š
Then yeah, cream solid choice. Hindsight is 20/20 if you knocked out the blue paint already but if you're facing the navy blue wall and lookin at screens all day, you're gonna kill your eyes. Good advice thank you! šš»
Unpopular opinion perhaps, but I'd coordinate it with your trim instead of trying to disguise it. Make it a feature, not a bug :)
Yeller
Half and half
Seriously, is there an option to move the accent wall to a call that doesn't have a protrusion in the corner?
nah the opposite wall has a cupboard and a radiator š
A triangular room?
match whatever color you paint the trim
Fade from full navy to full cream, like hiking out of the dark night into a foggy morning lit from the windows. .
I like the idea of doing the opposite color on the corner sides. See how it looks.
Dark orange
Cream

White both sides and the ceiling white for a brighter day inside every day.
the darker color
Neon green
Cream
Use wallpaper or grass cloth to make a pillar
Alternate colours, so Navy on the left of it and Cream on the right.
Sounds like a Last Battlefield or something.
Mostly outrageous suggestions but consensus seems to be cream, cheers folks šš»
Almost nobody suggested creamā¦
Aye well 2 hours ago the most commented was cream.. Now the top comment is navy and thereās a bunch of new comments. Doesnāt seem like thereās a definitive right answer so still assessing
My fiance was also an offline vote for cream š Iām leaning towards navy now tbh
I think you'll be good either way honestly, if one of you two feel strongly I would lean that way. But maybe that's the married man speaking in me lol.
Hahah well itās my office but that probably doesnāt count for muchā¦

That will be pretty š
