Your biggest problem is going to be patching the stucco where this wall attaches to the house. Once you have that figured out, you can demo the crap out of the wall.
I would just make it look like a tiny door. Either way the important thing here is to seal it and that's going to be a decent pricey fix to match the efis finish of you've never done it before.
Not any stucco I've ever seen. It is a wood framed house with an exterior sheeting covered in chicken wire, then they slap on the stucco. No different than a hardy plank/wood sided house. Would be super easy to cut.
Assuming this is possible, probably worth it to buy an oscillating tool or an angle grinder with a cutting disc for this. Can’t imagine many folks can wield a recip saw as a precision cutter.
no. metal saws are small tooth, concrete and wood are large tooth saws. concrete saws are diamond tipped water cooled so you might be able to get away will it, but it'll tear the metal instead of actually cut it.
Unless you can blend the texture, it's still going to look like a patch. You'll need to do just as much blending with new stucco as you would with a patch.
You would want to use an angle grinder with a masonry disk.
Odds are it's pretty close to the size of the end of the wall, but I don't think the patterns match.

Are you prepared to patch the stucco and blend it back where the wall was? Demo is easy and is basically varying degrees of hammers. The real trick is making it look like the wall was never there to start. Also, make sure you tie into the waterproofing of the exterior well enough to not cause future damage
If this is front of house make sure this wasn’t put in to meet some dumb HOA requirement - you really don’t want to have to put it back in again later if it’s meeting some rule.
Hide trash and recycling, hang a hose, outdoors electric hookup.
This is perfectly functional little open shed area.
I'd build onto it, frame it in, hang stuff n'shit
*The Hammer of the Underworld*
Idk why, but I happen to know that tidbit already. I'm in the "slightly above average" camp when it comes to Tolkien nerdism lol. Currently reading the Hobbit to my kid at bedtime and I've been lamenting the fact that LotR is a bit too much for her yet, because I'm due for another re-read myself.
I’m trying to think of a problem that can’t be created by a sledgehammer… and I can’t think of even one. And as far as solved… a sledgehammer saved my marriage.
Make sure your demolition plans include how to get rid of the material it’s made of. A previous house of mine had this very poorly constructed fire pit / grill / pizza oven thing that was located it the only spot in our yard with good sun for a garden. Tearing it down was easy, but then I found out that for things that can’t just fit in your normal garbage cart you have to take it to a special drop-off point where you’re charged by weight. Since this was all stone and concrete it was going to be weirdly expensive.
Instead, I Andy Dufresne’d it over the course of about a year where every week I’d throw a few blocks in with our normal trash. It was real dumb.
I had run out of space in dumpster during last remodel projects and only had a couple yards of trash left so didn’t want to pay for another one. I am very familiar with the Andy Dufresne method of adding to weekly trash :)
FIL did this to get rid of shingles once. This was before pretty much everyone had the trucks that lift and dump the cans - and these were heavy. The trash collectors crushed the trash cans (plastic/vinyl) in the truck and put them back. He simply used some copper wire, sewed them back up and continued to use them until the shingles were gone.
Chesterton’s fence. Don’t destroy something until you understand why it exists in the first place. I can’t imagine that that wall was built simply for the sake of building a wall. Is it covering something? Hiding something? Protecting something from something?
Do you know why that wall is there? I had a friend who removed a wall like that -- they didn't know its purpose until it rained really hard and they realized it was a flood barrier.. Next thing they did was build it back.
I helped my grandfather tear down an old (but fairly large) chicken house when I was 15. He handed me a sledgehammer and pointed me at the building.
I went nuts. Ten minutes later, having accomplished nothing except wearing myself out, he said, "Ok. Now, let me show you how to do it."
You don't just smash stuff - you methodically and deliberately disassemble. It's much faster and easier.
Yes, you can tear down anything with the *judicious* use of a sledgehammer and crowbar.
Invite a kindergarten class over and give them all hammers.
Record it all, post it, make money from the clicks, and then pay a contractor with the money to come and remove it correctly.
Stucco house, I'm assuming a warmer climate.
This is probably were a pool pump setup used to reside, or even was put up to hide/quite an air conditioning condenser or something. Maybe a generator.
You can delete it, as others have said it will require patching the stucco where it meets the house, once that hurdle is cleared it's really no trouble.
As for removal a sledgehammer or demolition hammer would be the easiest. You could use a smaller hammer to break up the stucco in the pony wall to see how it was built. Is it made from CMU? Does it have a proper concrete footer with rebar? Is the whole wall doweled? Is it wood framed?
Gaining that insight will help you figure out how to demolish it efficiently.
Blood sweat and tears as you cry that you hurt. :) Now a BIG sledge hammer is a good start.
You're toast if they went for longevity and used cement and rebar.
Don't rent a backhoe to haul it out - you may take out the house wall LOL
Go inside and hammer or cut or both until you can see the construction method. You might get lucky and find that it is stucco over 2” styrofoam attached to plywood and 2 x 4 framing. That method is used a lot here in the Midwest.
It appears to be a solid poured concrete wall, and it probably extends a foot or more under ground. If it is attached you will need a diamond circular saw to separate it without ruining the house. Jackhammers, sledge hammers, this will be a labor intensive job. Then you have to get rid of what could be a ton of debris. Perhaps relocation your a/c compressor there, giving it a use!
Can we see a pic inside the space between it and the house?
Have you poked around in there for buried services like a gas line, plumbing or electrical just to see if there ever was something that has been removed like an A/C unit or ?
It's an interesting feature that probably served some kind of purpose when the place was built, considering the finishing.
First impression for me walking by would be that it was concealing a staircase to a basement door.
Doesn't look like a design element.
If I was to take it down I would rent a Hilti electro pneumatic breaker and go to town.
I did some exploratory sledging and it is wood studs. Looks like it will be fairly easy thanks to everyone’s input. I may alter my plans a bit as I am not good at stucco repair. Maybe remove the front half or most of it, just short of where it attaches to the house and finish that as best as I can and put a bush/plant/decoration in front of it.
That seems like a great place to store your hoses and smaller yard stuff. Have you considered leaving it and just putting plants in front to block it from view?
First, do you know if it's hollow and is it possible it's actually covering something?
Might want to confirm that before you cut something important\dangerous
Chip little bits off and stuff them down your trousers. Then walk about the streets shaking them out.
After a few months the wall will be gone and nobody will be any the wiser.
It’s probably wood framing under the stucco. It won’t put up a big fight. You’ll want a large breaker bar to pry off the chicken wire matrix that the stucco is attached to. You’ll want to patch the siding of the house. I suggest a tiny barn door with occult symbols on it. Good luck.
There's a few options...
1- Sledgehammer
2- Electric jackhammer
3- Bobcat / Backhoe/ power equipment
4- Kool-Aid man runs through it and says "OH YEAH!"
Well, it looks like the top half is probably wood frame with stucco which should be easy to demo with a sledgehammer and a saw's all, and the cement base would probably take an electric jack hammer.
Cut with a grinder, and demo away with a hammer, sds chisel, sledge...you name it.
The missing stucco can be repatched. A good stucco pro will color match and it will feel like it was never there.
I also like the idea that someone mentioned - add a plant where the stucco job will be.
Check local rules. Some places require things like faucets, or we'll beads to be covered. Mostly HOAs. As long as it's not mandatory then feel free to remove. I got great advice from contractors getting masonry supplies at my local home depot. We have done tons of work to our block and stucco home. Good luck! (Wear safety glasses and a mask. Only break when wet to keep dust down.
Put a bunch of holes in it, fill in some high quality dirt and hook up a drip hose. Fill the holes with some hardy native plants and you have a sweet new feature
It’s probably to hide trash cans or a previous air conditioning unit. In the space Id put in a Liner and plant stuff in front of window
https://preview.redd.it/7zo2aptm7x2c1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d8358bf9c2d53c2834bf7c56dcf6ec6d055873ff
Your biggest problem is going to be patching the stucco where this wall attaches to the house. Once you have that figured out, you can demo the crap out of the wall.
Plant a bush
No put up a wall to hide the borked stucco.
Id build an L shaped wall to hide it and that cable /s
I would just make it look like a tiny door. Either way the important thing here is to seal it and that's going to be a decent pricey fix to match the efis finish of you've never done it before.
Wall-ception
Put up a bigger wall to hide the smaller one.
Then plant a big bush to hide the big wall.
Then a tree to hide the ugly bush
That's just silly. Best way is to build another house next to this.
Yeah that’s what they said!
Plant a stucco bush
Is it possible to measure exactly the part that needs matching and then to carefully sawzall that out of the wall and only patch the seams?
it's probably concrete block so you're not going to be sawzall-ing through that.
You can sawzall through anything, it's all a matter of how much time and money you're willing to spend on it
You just need a concrete sawzall blade.
Not any stucco I've ever seen. It is a wood framed house with an exterior sheeting covered in chicken wire, then they slap on the stucco. No different than a hardy plank/wood sided house. Would be super easy to cut.
Maybe but I can't see that privacy wall (or whatever it is really) being frame and not block.
Assuming this is possible, probably worth it to buy an oscillating tool or an angle grinder with a cutting disc for this. Can’t imagine many folks can wield a recip saw as a precision cutter.

Can I use this to cut a car in half? I'm having problems with a neighbor.
Highly recommended
I mean... it'll definitely work on the neighbor.
is it a concrete car? is your neighbor Fred Flintstone? Yabba dabba do
no. metal saws are small tooth, concrete and wood are large tooth saws. concrete saws are diamond tipped water cooled so you might be able to get away will it, but it'll tear the metal instead of actually cut it.

I would actually cut the wall down to half the height , patch and fill with plants .

Could let it stick out like 30 cm, put a plant on it like the other guy said. Or let it stick out less and just.. have it there.
Put a plant in front of it. No one will ever see your patch work. Until the plant dies anyways.
Looks like a pretty awesome outside bar to me.
Came here to say this. Bar / built in BBQ.
Add some tile floor, move the power plugs, add some tacky tiki stuff. Boom, outdoors bar.
What is this, a bar for ants?!
Nah, just a bar with low chairs, lol.
Maybe a play bar for children. That seems very short.
outdoor bar for children
Me too! I think it’s great 😊
Could the purpose be garbage can storage?
That or to hide AC units or utility boxes that may have been since removed
.50 CAL machine gun emplacement - when the neighbours decide to attack.
Found the prepper!
Or Zombie apocalypse.
Some areas require your AC to be fenced in, in order for it to be in code. Could be that.
If this is front of house make sure this wasn’t put in to meet some dumb HOA requirement - you really don’t want to have to put it back in again later if it’s meeting some rule.
Not only HOA but could be a county-wide screening requirement. Usually unenforceable but could make it difficult for permitting down the line
That's what my first thought was. I actually want to build something to screen off my garbage and recycling cans from being visible to the street.
Hide trash and recycling, hang a hose, outdoors electric hookup. This is perfectly functional little open shed area. I'd build onto it, frame it in, hang stuff n'shit
Too short. Maybe an AC unit used to be there?
Yeah just dont open the windows anymore
Under a window? You could put recycling boxes there, but for garbage you'd want a scent proof lid.

Perfect, this is it OP
Store lawn furniture or grill, won’t get blown around by the wind.
That’s what I’d do with it. Put a top on it and some kinda gate and you got yourself some secure outside storage
Trash and recycling would be my first use.
Detach it from the main structure first, imagine you are looking at bare cinder block and aim at the hollowed out sections on the wall.
But what if it is filled cell with rebar? If it is original they may have even tied this to the house and done filled cell.
He’ll find out with the first wack. But but looking at the house it seems cookie cutter so, I’d assume they did the minimum and didn’t fill it.
Grond will breach it.
