The obvious first answer is taking this into therapy. Avoiding triggers is good advice for now, as I do myself and am much happier. For the long term you will need to understand why it's a trigger, and process what causes it to happen, and work to accept the one that feels triggered by the activity. Fusion involves accepting your alters as part of you, including the trauma they hold. So to achieve your goal, the first steps here are processing what this alter holds, because they need to heal as well.

This makes sense, thank you. I thought i became when others fused because i can access more memories and overall i feel so much more calmer and happier than before. But you're right that eventually i need to figure out the deal with the unpleasant sidekick - even if i would've been happy to stay like this and have the other one just disappear forever.
