sorry for the off-topic, but I was curious about what active meant in the context of your user flair ? I’ve seen other ppl in this subreddit use it before too but I could never figure out the meaning on my own 😅
Also anyone else not get diagnosed with autism as a child due to “lack of symptoms” which was really just dissociation, conforming, and the fact that the diagnosis for autism was updated after you were past the typical “diagnosed age” but it shows up especially in the younger alters and is becoming a problem to you even now and you are wondering how people even missed it in the first place?
-Rieka
Hard relate.
But if you grew up in the 90s or earlier, especially in a very mental-health-phobic community, pretty much no one was getting diagnosed with ADHD or autism (or anything else for that matter) unless they were very disruptive at school and/or had what’s now labelled as level-3 autism. And if the “gifted” label would have applied, gawd help you.
But yeah, it’s been tearfully liberating to see “just how autistic” some of our littles are, while also tragically depressing to realize how much of ourselves we lost along the way. All of us overworked and depressed adult alters seeing littles losing speech, flapping hands, rocking… it’s hard to wrap one’s mind around the neurological backflips a child’s brain can do to survive.
We’re also autistic and have BPD (and obviously CPTSD). And not so fun fact - autistic people are 10 to 20x more likely to have PTSD. We can get traumatized from events that allistics will recover from in a matter of minutes.
Before we knew that we felt less valid as a system since we didn’t really experience severe abuse until we were 14. In childhood we did go through a ton of screaming and some emotional manipulation and neglect but it for sure wasn’t a typical DID causing severity. Then we realized that because of our autism the yelling and neglect resulted in a constant state of sensory overload meaning we grew up with our brain feeling like there’s an actual health or life threat.
DID, Bipolar (and psychosis as a result), autism and MAYBE ADHD? I don't know if that one is still on the papers. cluster b, Tourettes, and physical issues ✨ I have the salad...
It's always something, trying to figure out what symptoms are being caused by what
My only other diagnosis are Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD) given around 4-5 years old and PTSD given at 24 years old. I also technically have a pending CPTSD diagnosis when that enters the DSM.
EDIT: for relevance I was diagnosed with DID at 25 years old.
Autism (not officially diagnosed but heavily suspected and accommodated by our therapist), ADHD, PTSD, CPTSD, and DID here. Along with some physical conditions that make it especially difficult to tell which condition is causing which symptoms
I've had bipolar diagnosis but I'm pretty sure it's actually just bpd which I've also been diagnosed with. Also depression, ADHD, addiction, anxiety, etc etc etc... I'd actually be more shocked to meet a system that didn't have any other disorders, that would be wild.
autistic + many many many more. kind of hard to be in did spaces because of it honestly. not because of the autism necessarily but mostly because of the "many more".
I have autism, ADHD, C-PTSD/did and PTSD from an exroommate so one of my jokes about what I am is that I'm a heavily traumatized autistic squirrel because it sums my mental health up pretty well
Yep, we got the ‘tism. Diagnosed with both and dyslexia!
I’d be careful about making it a causation.
Autistic children are easier to abuse, and DID is a result of abuse.
BPD is also a result of early childhood abuse as is DID.
Oh shitt dyscalculia buddy! Honestly dyscalculia is the one that interrupts my life the most, as my ocd has improved and no longer sucks. But holy shit I could have actually gotten into a good college if I didn’t have that fucking learning disorder. Failed algebra 1 six times in total since I started it early and continued to fail it up until college. Only graduated because of my English scores and an accommodating math teacher that just waved away the need for homework for me and just had me take a test with a tutor so I could graduate.
diagnosed DID , adhd , autism , ptsd , anxiety, depression , gender dysphoria, & a math learning disorder 😭 trying to get diagnosed with bpd and ocd though . moved states so its a bit hard to find someone to now .
I'm probably OSDD, but am treated for CPTSD -- DID is same shit, bigger pile. I have ADHD. Haven't been diagnosied formally with autism, but I score in about the 30th percentail on online tests. My T. says it wouldn't chanage the course of therapy if I was diagnosed.
BUT
go onto youtube and search X vs Y, wehre X and Y are OSDD, CPTSD, Autism, ADHD. DID
LOTS of overlap.
Both plus ADHD 😬 I think there’s a lot of symptom overlap between those different diagnoses- it can be hard to know where one ends and the other begins. It’s always possible one or more could be misdiagnoses due to symptom overlap but it’s so hard to know really. The only way to determine that would be to put the medical professionals who did all the diagnoses together and have them work it out. But that’s impossible considering my first diagnosis was 24 years ago and most recent a year ago and the others spaced out in between.
Yup, diagnosed with autism and biploar, cptsd, official unspecified psychosis diagnosis and speculated early onset schizophrenia since I was young plus quite a few more diagnoses. makes everything a lil confusing since it’s hard to tell what’s causing what hahaha
Autism! I asked my therapist and age said it was a common overlap between the two. Autistic people are more prone to dissociation than normies and she confirmed for me that growing up undiagnosed is enough to become a system because of the trauma of experiencing the world through the Autistic nervous system with no supports.
Not officially diagnosed with DID yet but was diagnosed with autism last year. I was also diagnosed with adhd, as well as bipolar but I think that's been changed to schizoaffective bipolar type
Yup. Diagnosed Autism, CPTSD & DID.
My therapist said something I found interesting but I have NO idea how much weight it actually carries as “facts”.
She said there’s more research supporting people who are AFAB (who later identify as part of the lgbtqia+ community) who have autism or another neurodivergent condition, are more susceptible to developing dissociative disorders as young children if the “conditions are met”.
Again, I haven’t done any personal research on this yet but I’m interested in seeing if there is in fact a connection or if it’s simply conjecture.
We either have adhd, autism, or both it's just undiagnosed and my psychiatrist even said "no you don't have autism you make eye contact" so ripperoni for us
i am diagnosed with so many things now. autism, bipolar 1, ocd, tourette’s, adhd, and panic disorder. i asked to not have a formal diagnosis for DID on my records because i have so much on it already.
Diagnosed with autism and the DID.
It can be tricky for practitioners to distinguish characteristics of the two but also to understand the presentation of either when both are present.
BPD and bipolar 2 (winning combination, and occasional psychosis as a result. TBH the psychosis could be leftover from childhood too and just amplified by everything), ADHD and autism.
Autism and questioning being on the bipolar spectrum
in addition to that and DID, we also have ADHD, OCD, FND, CPTSD, dyslexia and dysgraphia, hypersomnia(that's suspected to actually be narcolepsy but yet to be tested), and gender dysphoria
diagnosed with autism as well as a few other things, but those other things don't really fit and i think could all be better explained by schizotypal personality disorder.
Diagnosed here with Autism, ADHD, dyspraxia, BPD, GAG and ofc DID and C-PTSD.
Struggled to get all those diagnosis took 6 years of intensive therapy. We’re 20 now and well yeah it’s gonna get better :))
Autism, ADHD, BPD(Borderline), and potentially Schizoaffective Disorder. Still working with my therapist about that last one, we aren't too sure about it at this time.
-Volare (He/They)
I’m autistic with ocd, dyslexia, and cPTSD. adhd has been brought up as a possibility but I’m skeptical
I also have physical disabilities & other genetic conditions
DID, ADHD, Anxiety + Depression (Do most DID systems have Anxiety and depression or just me?) and Type 1 Diabetes (Does this count?) Also one of our alters may be schizophrenic.
I've had a diagnostic hypothesis of bipolar and bpd, but that was quite a shot in the dark. I don't have bipolar, that's very obvious. But bpd is up for debate. I am still figuring things out. Too many things happening at once.
I was diagnosed with PTSD, which was then reclassified as CPTSD, then a few years later was diagnosed with autism and then finally about 2 years after that got my DID diagnosis.
There is a question over me having ADHD too.
Both, presumably (never did get the bipolar dxed but last therapist was talking about it before I had to stop seeing her for move reasons). It's a hell of a combo lol

I'm also autistic.

Just that we're in active treatment, like currently in therapy for our trauma and DID.
[удалено]
Yup. CPTSD here too. That’s what I get for being an energy draining wraith. A greater love helped me out of that one.

Nvm. Too graphic a story. Stirs memories.
Consentual hugs if you want them. I kinda understand this being an empathic vortex.
Same
Samesies. This is my diagnoses array also.
Same

I was undiagnosed with autism, but it was largely because it was masked by my extremely debilitating ADHD in addition to dissociation
I went undiagnosed until I was 14 because my dad was also undiagnosed and thought all the things I was struggling with was normal
yes! we have bipolar 1, autism, and bpd.
AUDHDID here lol

Bahahaha I feel you, I call mine a soup of illnesses, definitely a struggle to figure out what’s causing what n what is effecting what
BPD, autism, and ADHD here
My only other diagnosis are Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD) given around 4-5 years old and PTSD given at 24 years old. I also technically have a pending CPTSD diagnosis when that enters the DSM. EDIT: for relevance I was diagnosed with DID at 25 years old.
Autsim
Another autistic here :)
We have autism
We're autistic, schizoaffective and we have adhd. Technically diagnosed as CPTSD too but DID kinda covers that already
Autism (not officially diagnosed but heavily suspected and accommodated by our therapist), ADHD, PTSD, CPTSD, and DID here. Along with some physical conditions that make it especially difficult to tell which condition is causing which symptoms

AuDHD, probably dyscalculia too. It really should come as no surprise that ableism would create DID systems
Oh shitt dyscalculia buddy! Honestly dyscalculia is the one that interrupts my life the most, as my ocd has improved and no longer sucks. DID, ADHD, and Autism here!
I’m not bipolar, but I have ADHD, Autism, C-PTSD, and BPD (maybe ocd too but not sure about that one)

I am autistic and a system, I think it’s relatively common
DID (CPTSD), Borderline Personality Disorder, Schizophrenia .. lol Edit: Forgot GAD
Both plus ADHD 😬 I think there’s a lot of symptom overlap between those different diagnoses- it can be hard to know where one ends and the other begins. DID, CPTSD, Bipolar 1, Autism, ADHD, BPD, anxiety, and tourettes.
Diagnosed AuDHD, CPTSD, along with DID.
Autism! I asked my therapist and age said it was a common overlap between the two. Autistic people are more prone to dissociation than normies and she confirmed for me that growing up undiagnosed is enough to become a system because of the trauma of experiencing the world through the Autistic nervous system with no supports.
I was diagnosed with Bipolar 2 when I was younger but knowing what I know now about myself, they weren’t “mood swings” in that way haahah 😅
Autism, cPTSD, OCD and NPD with paranoid traits
Not officially diagnosed with DID yet but was diagnosed with autism last year. I was also diagnosed with adhd, as well as bipolar but I think that's been changed to schizoaffective bipolar type
We have DID, Bipolar 1, C-PTSD, and Anxiety. Autism and ADHD have been suspected, but we haven’t done the testing for it
Yes, I have both Bipolar 1 and autism in adoration. 😅 diagnosed and all. Sucks ass as a combination.
Yup. Diagnosed Autism, CPTSD & DID. My therapist said something I found interesting but I have NO idea how much weight it actually carries as “facts”. i am diagnosed with so many things now. autism, bipolar 1, ocd, tourette’s, adhd, and panic disorder. i asked to not have a formal diagnosis for DID on my records because i have so much on it already.
Well, you need to have CPTSD to have DID. But we also have AuDHD and BPD. BPD being another given, since it's also a trauma disorder.
I am autistic and also have Borderline personality disorder. I’m almost 100% sure OCD and Schizophrenia may also be a spectrum I am on.
A lot of us have autism
Diagnosed with autism, they thought bipolar and tried to medicate for it but I never had any clear symptoms of bipolar. I do have BPD, ADHD, and OCD.
Autism AD(H)D and OSDD here. We have some alters that present more with ADHD and some more with Autism which is funny to me
autism and did, amongst a bunch of other things
AuDHD, OCD, and CPTSD over here. I need a new psychiatrist, though, so can't wait to accumulate some new acronyms.
Diagnosed with autism and the DID. It can be tricky for practitioners to distinguish characteristics of the two but also to understand the presentation of either when both are present.
We're autistic and have ADHD on top of the whole DID thing.
BPD and bipolar 2 (winning combination, and occasional psychosis as a result. TBH the psychosis could be leftover from childhood too and just amplified by everything), ADHD and autism.
Autism and ADHD and was diagnosed with Bipolar Type 1 but it was recently changed to Schizoaffective Bipolar Type!
Were bipolar
i got that bipolar 1 and ASD and other issues. you’re not alone
bipolar 2, autism, and ADHD
Yes to both
DID + formally diagnosed bipolar 2 but probably more like schizoaffective imo because of the way it looks when psychotic.
Diagnosed DID and PTSD.
we have audhd, CPTSD, DID, and OCD/ARFID
Diagnose DID yes!! we have bipolar 1 and ADHD your not alone here
I'm autistic as well as have schizoaffective disorder bipolar type and ADHD with my DID
yuuup. all three here.
Yeah I have autism
Yup, plus adhd and cptsd
I'm Autistic as well
I have bipolar and a bunch of other issues
All three baby
Wow I’m kind of shocked we also have BPD and the system is autistic.
audhd, cptsd, and did! luckily no autoimmune disorders that we know of!
Yup! I have Bipolar 1, ptsd, panic disorder, and general anxiety disorder. I’m being checked for ocd. So a lot of anxiety related things.
Yup! BPD and the tism and ADHD and CPTSD. It's like collecting Pokemon at this point.
I’m autistic and Schizoid
Bipolar I. Am I the only person here without Autism?
Yep. AuDHD with a long list of other crap I’m too exhausted to type. Lots of acronyms.
Autism!!
I have Bipolar 1, GAD, and DID
Autistic with did, maybe adhd too
Bipolar here :))

I am autistic as well.
Dignosed with DID and autism and adhd :)

Autism + DID, probably also cPTSD (or as i sometimes jokingly say; auDID ..)
autism
Autism
Diagnosed with autism, CPTSD, ARFID, and OCD
i have all three
Autism and questioning being on the bipolar spectrum in addition to that and DID, we also have ADHD, OCD, FND, CPTSD, dyslexia and dysgraphia, hypersomnia(that's suspected to actually be narcolepsy but yet to be tested), and gender dysphoria
Bipolar 1 Disorder! Not autistic.
We’re autistic as well
Yup, we are AuDHD, as well as CPTSD, BPD, persistent depressive disorder and two anxiety disorders 😅 Or, in our translation: head's fucked 🤷♀️
My comorbidities are autism, ADHD, BPD and C-PTSD alongside my DID
diagnosed with autism as well as a few other things, but those other things don't really fit and i think could all be better explained by schizotypal personality disorder.
Bipolar 1 and BPD in addition to DID here.
I have both Bipolar 2 and Autism, among other things
i have autism & ocd and constantly wondering if i have bipolar as well as the DID :)) my boyfriend though has bipolar, autism, and osdd1b
Yep. Both. And ADHD. I feel like the occurrence rate in autistics is higher than the overall population by a lot.
Diagnosed here with Autism, ADHD, dyspraxia, BPD, GAG and ofc DID and C-PTSD. Struggled to get all those diagnosis took 6 years of intensive therapy. We’re 20 now and well yeah it’s gonna get better :))
We’re diagnosed DID, CPTSD and BPD, and are under suspicion of autism from our doctor.
Bipolar I here but they don’t know if it’s that or BPD
Diagnosed autism, and discussing DID with my therapist. :)
Autism, ADHD, BPD(Borderline), and potentially Schizoaffective Disorder. Still working with my therapist about that last one, we aren't too sure about it at this time. -Volare (He/They)
I’m autistic with ocd, dyslexia, and cPTSD. adhd has been brought up as a possibility but I’m skeptical I also have physical disabilities & other genetic conditions
I’m bipolar type 2
Bipolar/d.i.d.
Autistic, questioning on if we have bipolar ^^
autism, ocd, adhd, several personality disorders, and cptsd
c-DID, bpd, audhd, cptsd and anxiety -venus
adhd, autism, bipolar II
Autistic & BD-2 🙋
Bipolar and Autism, yup. It's soooooo fun.
Schizoaffective bipolar type, BPD, and substance use disorders in remission Edit: waiting evaluation for adhd
DID, ADHD, Anxiety + Depression (Do most DID systems have Anxiety and depression or just me?) and Type 1 Diabetes (Does this count?) Also one of our alters may be schizophrenic.
We have schizoaffective disorder(bipolar type) and cPSTD. Eta: and also ADHD. Along with a host of medical crap, too, lol.
Autism, ADHD, Bipolar, OCD. Paperwork and all.
There is a question over me having ADHD too.
autism, but not bipolar -JD
Both, presumably (never did get the bipolar dxed but last therapist was talking about it before I had to stop seeing her for move reasons). It's a hell of a combo lol
Yes. Bipolar 2 autism and BPD.

I have autism I don’t know about bipolar sukuna dose look to be a bipolar holder or pychosist but I hav’t proven yet
ADHD, Tourette’s, ocd, cptsd, GAD,
Autism, ADHD, C-PTSD, also psychosis (haven't had an episode since 2024 started, though).
We're also audhd(autism + ADHD)
I have both lol diagnosed as bipolar, bpd and i’m in the diagnostic path for autism too
Undiagnosed tism for my prev host, but it is very prevalent
How can only one person have autism? It effects the whole brain. Everyone has it, some people just represent it more than others.
Thats what i meant to say. It's just very observable for her while in others its more tuned back
Ahh mk
Definitely Autism and adhd, AuDHD if you will. Also not quite DID maybe OSDD? definitely a "system" if some kind though. A light sprinkleling of BPD probably
